Vitality Mini-Series 4: The Gifts of the Wise Woman
Today we’re continuing with the Rising With Vitality After 55 mini-series, a special set of short conversations created just for women who are ready to feel younger, stronger, and more alive than they ever imagined.
Here, we’re not buying into the story that our best years are behind us. Instead, we’re reclaiming our energy, awakening our gifts, and rising into a season of life that is powerful, joyful, and full of possibility.
So if you’ve been feeling the tug for “something more,” if you’re ready to call back your vitality and step into your brightest years—then you are in the right place.
In today’s conversation…The Gifts of the Wise Woman I want to celebrate something that doesn’t get nearly enough attention: the gifts that come alive in us as we grow older.
For too long, society has told women that aging means losing value. But the truth? As we move into our fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond, we actually step into some of our most powerful gifts.
Think about it—you’ve walked through heartbreak, loss, joy, reinvention, and countless everyday battles. And because of that, you carry wisdom that can’t be taught in any classroom or found in any book. Your gifts—your empathy, your intuition, your vision, your resilience—are medicine for this world. So call in the wise woman and “Call IT in With Dar!”

Let’s do a quick activity:
- Place a hand on your heart and ask inwardly: “What do I need most today?”
- Pause for a few deep relaxing breaths and trust the first whisper or feeling that comes.
- This was a simple practice of honoring your inner wisdom.
One of the greatest gifts of the Wise Woman is empathy. Not the shallow kind of “I feel bad for you,” but the deep, bone-level kind of empathy that comes from having lived through your own valleys. You can sit with someone else’s pain without judgment, because you’ve been there.
Your presence alone becomes healing.
Another gift is intuition. Over the years, you’ve learned to sense when something is “off,” to read between the lines, to feel the truth even when it isn’t spoken. That isn’t imagination—that’s wisdom.
There’s also the gift of vision. The Wise Woman sees beyond appearances. She can sense possibilities others overlook. She can dream bigger, even after others have stopped dreaming. And maybe most importantly, there’s the gift of resilience. You’ve been knocked down, yet here you are—still standing, still loving, still willing to grow. That strength is not small. It’s extraordinary.
But here’s the thing: many of us were never taught to value these gifts. Instead, we were told we were “too sensitive,” “too emotional,” or “too much.” So we hid them, buried them, or felt ashamed of them.
Now is the time to bring them forward.
Because the world needs your wisdom. Your family, your community, your own soul needs you to stand tall in who you are. Not apologizing for your sensitivity, but celebrating it. Not questioning your intuition, but trusting it. Not shrinking back, but shining brightly.
So today, I want you to remember: you are not invisible, and you are not finished. You are the Wise Woman. And your gifts—your empathy, your intuition, your vision, your resilience—are medicine for this world.
This is your time to honor them, share them, and live from them. So call in the wise woman. “Call IT in With Dar!”
