I am so excited to have you with us today, Kayse, before we get started. Will you tell everyone about yourself and how you got to where you are today?

Speaker Kayse

Hi, so happy to be here. So yes, I like to tell my story. It was part intention, part serendipity and part fate. So I, since I was a young child, wanted to go into the healing arts and support people's health and wellness. I wanted to be a doctor for many, many years. And when I was 1819, years old, I had the intuition, a voice that said, it's time for you to move cross country to California. And I took a detour from my pre-med path. And when I got to California, very quickly, discovered quote, unquote, alternative healing, met my Reiki master, was attuned in energy medicine, went to Esalen, started studying body work, and that kind of led me down a path of exploration, working in the healing arts, lots of different modalities, Open Studios. Had my own practice, and then through the course of that, discovered microdosing along the way, and that, I believe, layered on top of a very, very long career in practices of healing just really catapulted my healing in on all fronts, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and when my studios were closed in the pandemic, I pivoted into supporting people with microdosing practice online, and that has since grown to supporting people in over 30 countries in a global microdosing community programs, podcast and professional training today.

Speaker Dar

WOW! What an exciting turn of events, from pre-med to healing arts to having to pivot and getting online. What an exciting journey that must have been. all the things, for sure, and in California, no less. So could you define some terms for us? Let's start with micro dosing.

Speaker Kayse

I'm happy that micro dosing is something a few years ago no one had ever heard of. Nowadays, people have a vague understanding of it, but I'm always happy to define it as weird. Most of the time you hear the term microdosing. It's referring to taking small, sub perceptual doses of psychedelics. In my case, I work almost exclusively with mushroom medicine, so working with psilocybin mushrooms, so you're taking about 1/10 of the dose that would be considered a journey or a psychedelic trip. This is a sub perceptual dosing of microdosing so that you're accruing the benefits of magic mushrooms without being altered or trippy in any way

Speaker Dar

interesting, 1/10 the dose. So you mentioned that this healing is mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Can you break that down for us a little bit more

Speaker Kayse

Sure, happy to know, it's really remarkable. I've been doing this work full time since 2020 and have supported up to 1600 plus people, and I still learn something every single week from this work of what mushrooms can do. It's really, really remarkable. So on the physical front, nervous system healing, by far, is the most significant thing I've witnessed. Everything from addiction to OCD to ADHD to anxiety, public speaking anxiety, social anxiety, migraines, headaches, cluster headaches. In my case, I had a grand mal seizure disorder since I was a teenager that healed from microdosing, anything that people have that's deeply rooted in a dysregulated nervous system, tend to have really remarkable clearing of a lot of symptoms once they reset their nervous system with mushroom practice, also emotional Health and Mental Health is remarkable. So people who have spells of melancholy all the way up to clinical depression, have had a lot of relief working with mushrooms at a micro dosing level as well as higher dose work with mushrooms, it really helps people with anxiety. See, and especially right now this year, this moment we're recording is pretty much hitting the ceiling the whole time, I think, for human anxiety here in the United States. And so, it's really, really a beautiful time that these medicines are kind of coming back into our popular consciousness now, when we really need them. Going forward, spiritual development is also a really, really powerful reason people come to practice. Once people start microdosing their dream life opens up. Their connection to lost loved ones opens up people to have more of a permeability and a sensitivity to the spirit realm to the natural realm, a connection to animals, babies and kind of the most sensitive beings on our planet.

Also, what I have seen lately is a lot of relief from transitional rites of passage, moments in life. I work with a lot of people who are women moving from, like their late 20s into their 30s, that kind of passage. And I also work with a lot of women in kind of their perimenopause menopause here, moving into eldership and that really powerful time. And so I find mushroom practices extra supportive of these transitions in a woman's life as well. Well.

Speaker Dar

Thank you for adding that about transitions. That gives us a little bit more of a picture of what's going on with micro dosing. The question that is probably burning in everyone's mind, is, is it legal in all states? Is it legal where I live?

Speaker Kayse

Yes, this is a popular question, and unfortunately, not yet in most of the country. So when we first started back in 2020 it was at the height of the pandemic. Everybody was locked down and their homes in many states, and we had a cultivation partner who taught people to grow their own mushrooms at home, which was so fun because it was when everybody had lots of time. People were baking bread and painting and doing all the things at home. So people cultivated their own mushrooms. And while it wasn't legal in most places, you know, there was a it lowers your risk significantly when you're at home, you know, growing your own spore as much as you would growing an herb garden, right, just for your own personal sacred therapeutic use. Fast forward. Now there's medicines, there's websites you can purchase. I have colleagues who have public facing businesses that make finished medicines in the forms of capsules, chocolates, edibles. So it's wonderful now that you can access safe sourcing from a number of places. I'm very open to helping people in that front connect with these, these sources that are safe, high integrity. However, it is good to be aware, in your state, city, county, where is it legal? Where is it not? Where is it decriminalized? Where is it not? In the places where it's not legal, you are taking on some degree of risks, but it's good to walk through like the you have to weigh out the health benefits, all of the benefits to your life you're going to receive against How do you feel about, you know, any fear or trepidation you feel about, quote, unquote, getting caught. For me, this practice has been the most remarkable healing practice I've ever done. I had a grand mal seizure disorder that was very debilitating, that I was on heavy medications for that I have had completely healed by this practice. So anytime, all day long, when people ask me, you know, is it worth the risk? Absolutely, I would do it. I would do it again. I can't. I couldn't imagine my life now not having been able to receive these gifts.

Speaker Dar

One of the most exciting things for me is to always hear some case studies, and I'm sure you have a few. So keeping your clients confidential, can you share some stories with us? Speaker Kayse

So many, many. Thank you for the opportunity. Yeah, I think one of the things I love seeing is the way nature works so subtly, so powerfully, and oftentimes, it's only in hindsight that you can see how dramatically people's life shifted. So when people start a micro dosing practice, we always work with intention, you know. And come in. And we talk about physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritual, what are you hoping to receive from the medicine? What are you working on in your life? And it's really interesting, because a lot of times people really know once we peel back, you know, and open to our intuition, our soul knows, our spirit knows so much more where we're going than our mind does, and that's the level at which mushrooms and micro dosing connects with you. And so many, many people, I've had, so many people say, I said, I held my attention, and then you open to receive versus actively try to manifest things. And lo and behold, not only do you get what you were hoping for, you get much more than that, very often, but never in the way that you would have imagined it. Sometimes nature possesses a wisdom that's so far beyond what we can comprehend the human mind, or, scientifically, you know, capture or understand at this point, but you really, really see it in the results that people find. So in terms of case studies, here's when I think you'll especially appreciate it so I'll call him Mark. So Mark was a client who had been on many, many antidepressants and different medications throughout most of his adult life, and when I began working with him, one of his intentions was to get off of some of these medications he was on, but also kind of to tap into his true north. His purpose. He had been dedicated very successfully to a corporate career, but he was nearing retirement time, and was looking for his true purpose in this lifetime. And I could tell straight away he was a very soulful, spiritual man, although he would not, I don't think have defined himself that way, and in our intake, I asked him to take me back to when he was originally put on these prescription drugs. And he said, interestingly, he was from the US, but he was on a golf trip to Europe, to Scotland, and he said he had this deep, deep melancholy. And he said it was beyond anything he had ever experienced before. It was paralyzing and dark and heavy, and it rose up in him, and he couldn't shake it when he got home and he went to the doctor, and the doctor's response was, unfortunately, to medicate him and my next question was, thanks to my guide, Where was his mother's family from? And he said, interestingly, it's Scotland. They're from Scotland. And there in that session was the opening to what we began to explore was a long, long lineage of abuse and trauma in his maternal lineage that traced back. That was that he carried forth in this lifetime through his body, and that became the focus of his work with with mushroom practice was really working through this long layer and lineage of trauma, and when he worked with that, when he cleared that, kind of excavated that through, what ended up coming Through was this deeply heartful, courageous man who was destined to live a life of service, through mentorship, through volunteerism, through connections with younger people that he could mentor, but he had to kind of clear all that came before in order to clear That kind of be the disruptor, be the cord, Breaker of his his ancestral line, and go forward with what is possible for his line. So that's a beautiful example that I've seen play out in so many different ways of what's possible and how this medicine works, not only in this lifetime, but often, many, many, many, many generations back.

Speaker Dar

Wow, that is quite a story, and you were right. I really appreciate it, because one of the things that I do with healing sometimes are ancestral clearings. And so as you told the story, I'm like, Yes, Yes, yep. So we have time, if you could give another one, maybe in, maybe with someone who has been going through a transition, because I'm sure some of our listeners are. Going through these big transitions in their lives,

Speaker Kayse

absolutely yes, and I think mushrooms are really, really perfect for those moments, because the way mushrooms work with our with our bodies and our brains is they open up this window possibility called neuroplasticity, and you have this window of possibility where your mind is forming new connections, more expansive neural networks. And so if you're wanting change and you're ready for change, it kind of amplifies that. And it's, it goes, it goes very quickly from there. So a great example, and I've seen this many, many, many times over, is people who come in and say, I have been in this job forever. That is not my passion. I'm really good at it. I'm really capable at it. There's a lot of people who rely on me, and it's safe and it's familiar, but I know it's not my heart's and my soul's passion at all. They'll start microdosing, and literally, by the end of a six-week protocol, they've given notice. It happens so often and so often, and sometimes it's almost in spite of themselves. They kind of do it, and they're like, did I just do that? And it's so many of the things I see with the way mushrooms work, it's it's healing that you have actually been laying the foundation for for decades. It's not like this just happened. It's just that last little key that unlocks the last bit that allows you to kind of push the door open, like a lot of people know in their hearts, like you've been knocking out the door for a long time, but this is

that thing in your soul that actually turns that key and lets you walk in

Speaker Dar

That is fascinating, and you mentioned a six-week protocol. So my next question was, you know, what is the timing for these clients, does it depend on what they come in with, or does it depend on their amount of belief and ability to set intentions, or what do you think it depends on? And what are the timings?

Speaker Kayse

Great question. So I tend to work in six weeks, mostly because I work with such a broad, diverse array of people, very broad in background, very broad in age, very broad in intention. And six weeks is just long enough to connect with the medicine. Start to feel some shifts and gifts clear, some energy, have some big emotion come up for clearing and really connect with the medicine. But it's just the beginning, really just the beginning. Many people will go on to have a lifelong relationship. It becomes a ritual. It becomes a practice. It becomes an ally. It becomes part of their spirituality and a spiritual sacrament to them. So microdosing isn't something you're going to do continuously. It's very different than, say, a prescription drug that you have to do continuously to rely upon microdosing actually works to ignite your own innate healing, and once you heal it, it's yours to keep. And that's hard sometimes for people to get their heads around right, because we're so conditioned to the Western allopathic method. So starting with people, when somebody new comes to me, we first talk about which medicine is going to be right for them. I work primarily with mushrooms, but I have a whole collaborative team of other guides that I work with who specialize in different plant and Earth medicines. So if someone is working with mushrooms for the first time, I work with a lot of sensitives, empaths, lots of creatives and artists who tend to be pretty open people to begin with will typically start at a very, very small dope microdose, and then work our way up as needed six weeks. It really varies. Some people as soon as they like, literally the day they start, things start to shift immediately. They have spiritual gifts. Nature comes to life. Life just takes on a new vibrancy. They feel very peaceful, calm, and uplifted. They start cleaning out the garage that they've been putting off for seven years. You know, things start to really move immediately. Other people, it takes a few weeks to really connect with the medicine. Sometimes they have some old latent emotion to clear. Grief is really, really common. We hold a lot of grief and heavy, dense energy in our bodies. We hold a lot of fear in our bodies that sometimes people need to have rise and clear, and then the gifts start to come. I also work with a lot of spiritually gifted people that some of your listeners may be clairvoyant psychics, intuitives, and they're super fun to work with because they typically, like, are already so open. They're like, how much more open can I really get right? And they have a beautiful experience, because they're so open. They've already cleared so much in this lifetime and other lifetimes, they tend to have a really gorgeous expansion. So I just worked with, as an example, a case study. I just worked with a really gifted intuitive woman. She's a somatic healer, very intuitive. Can Read energy masterfully. And so she was just curious, you know, what, what this could provide to her further. And a few weeks in, she came to the call really, really tender and emotional and happy, and she shared that for her, for the longest time she was she wanted to be able to channel. She couldn't channel, and she didn't know if she would ever be able to do it in this lifetime. And she had a gathering of one of her groups, and she was able to channel for the first time. So that was the gift of of the mushrooms to her specifically. So it's beautiful, it's really different and unique to each person, but I work with a protocol and a structure, because I think just like any new practice, whether you're studying psychic ability or Reiki or meditation and contemplative practice, The more you have a container and a structured familiarity, you can really just sink into the practice and focus on the relationship and what is, what your experience is like, instead of worrying about kind of the details of the thing. I think, especially if you're an open, bendable, flexible, spiritually open person, that some containment and some structure actually helps you harness the full potential of the medicine.

Speaker Dar

Yes, I'm glad you reassured us that it's within a structure. I think that our guests will appreciate that part. And speaking of our guests, could you talk a little bit about a gift that you have for having, having them get the opportunity to get started with you and how that might progress?

Speaker Kayse

Sure, thanks for the opportunity. Yeah, we created so I've been doing group programs since 2020 and we had a lot of people want to experience micro dosing or get curious. Who wanted to start today, you know, didn't want to wait for a program. And who are also just learning, like just heard of this, are just dipping their toes in. I work with a lot of people who never in a million years thought that they would be working with mushrooms, myself included, right? So I relate to that very much. And so we started our global community. It's a light, easy, breezy, just month to month membership from people all over the world to come together. Lots of people have been micro-dosing for years now, and we always have peer beginners coming to the call just to learn and check it out. Listen to people's stories. See who else is doing it. Connect with others who are doing the practice to see what it's like before they start. So we're happy to extend all of your listening community 15% off our monthly membership. We call it our global micro dosing community, and they could just use a coupon code we'll create for you all. Dar 15,

Speaker Dar

wonderful that is so exciting, and it will, of course, be in the show notes for everyone. Well, before we wrap up here, I know that you're connected to your guides, and so I'm wondering, is there anything else that you're being called to share with us before we leave?

Speaker  Kayse

Thank you for the opportunity.

What she's sharing right now is really to focus greatly. We're recording this winter. We're recording it late summer of 2025 that it's really key and vital for us humans right now to really focus on our physical bodies. Our physical bodies are these tremendously pristine, intelligent and. Modes of communication that Spirit uses to talk to us daily and to really, really care for ourselves in a new way, treat ourselves and our vessels as precious in a new way, because everything we're experiencing as an energetic body is very, very intentional. So bring curiosity to our exploration of our body, our sensations of our body, our aches and pains, but also our deep pleasures of our body, are very, very important, and to follow those threads are often clues to our healing and our greater spiritual development.

Speaker Dar

Beautiful message, thank you. Thank you so much, Casey for being with us today. I certainly have learned a lot, and I know our listeners have too. Thank you.

Speaker Kayse

Thanks Dar so much. Bye.
