Speaker Dar

Hi, Andrea, it's great to have you on the “call it in show”.  I'm so glad that you could make it.

Speaker Andrea

Thank you so much, Darla for inviting me. I'm very excited to talk with you on your show

Speaker Dar

Before we dive into “creating a better world,” which is such a wonderful topic, please tell us a little bit about how you got to this point and this passion.

Speaker Andrea

Well, getting to this point has been, I would say, her rose journey. I received the call as a young person to travel the world, and I wanted to understand what the meaning of life was, even as a young child, but at the age of 21 I had a very enlightening experience where I was first in despair about the state of the world, and I was in despair about how people were treating each other and treating animals and all life, and I was out one night in Montreal in a punk rock club, because I'm 63 now and Back then I was 21 and that's what you do, and when you're 21 in Montreal is go to punk rock clubs. Anyways, I came home at three in the morning, and I was in despair, because it felt like everybody was alienated from each other. And I'm a six planet Aquarian, so I've always lived with a vision of that we're all brothers and sisters holding hands and creating harmony and love on the planet. And so I was in despair, thinking we're on a downward spiral. It's like I had an image of a giant snowball going faster and faster and faster, losing control. And I stayed up all night, and I asked spirits of the universe, how do we find balance living on Earth in a sustainable way? And I said to myself, I'm not going inside the house until I get an answer. And it was pouring rain, and I was crying my eyes out. And then for about, I don't know, maybe an hour, the first light of dawn arose, and a cat came to the back door, my our household cat, and it me out, and I thought, well, that's the answer. It's unconditional love through nature. And this began my quest to understand ancient religion, ancient prophecy, or Vedic texts, all the ancient teachings and prophecies I studied and I learned that we were going to be leaving the Kali Yuga age, which is a Vedic it's part of the Vedic Calendar. It's an ancient calendar. And the Kali Yuga is an age of disconnection from oneself, disconnection from source, disconnection from your heart, and it's an age of destruction and war and alienation and how to survive this time that we are currently in the what I learned through all these books was that it was very important to meditate and develop your intuition, because we would be going through a very difficult time, and we would need to follow our intuition, to know where to be safe and to trust in that and follow our intuition to safe, safety. And so this began, I in, you know, I went to film school, and right now I'm a transformational coach and a past life regressionist, somatic breath work facilitator. I'm a Reiki Master. I'm a tarot reader, a psychic medium, and I lead women's circles, and I teach meditation and about I have a 12-week chakra program so But originally, I started out as an actress, a filmmaker, and I wanted to learn about the world and how we how learn from all the religions and all the cultures and how we can sustainably live here. So I ended up making films, and it was all about balancing the masculine and the feminine, the west and the east, the mind and the matter and heart and matter. And eventually, I was guided to go to India on a spiritual quest. After I graduated from film production, with my Bachelor of Arts in film production, I went on a spiritual quest in India. And I went there to learn how to become enlightened. And I was, you know, 29 years old, and I had already been meditating, but it was challenging, keeping my mind still, and, you know, practicing, and I was still doing it, but didn't feel like I was mastering it. And then I was consciously following my intuition, though, and I heard that there was a guru in the north that my friends told me to visit. But then I heard that the Dalai Lama was coming to the south in cool Bodh Gaya in, sorry, Sarnath. And so I was like, should I go north? Should I go south? So I walked into a store and I picked up a I Ching book. I opened the book, and I asked the book, where should I go north or south? And it said, I put my finger on it. I use it like an Oracle. Sometimes books, I just open them randomly and put my finger on a passage or a sentence. And it said, it is fortuitous to go south to meet the great man. So off I went to meet the Dalai Lama. It was obvious, and I attended the Kalachakra initiation where I became a bodhisattva. And a bodhisattva is in the Buddhist tradition of one who agrees to take the vow to live in an awakened manner, to live consciously and to always be available to teach what we learn, and to not harm life or others, and to live in a peaceful way, in a nonviolent way. And I took that vow seriously, and then I went to a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation, a Buddhist Vipassana meditation. And in the first seven days, I thought I was going to go mad Darla, my mind would not stop, and I wanted to sing, I wanted to dance, I wanted to ring the bell, I wanted to hug everybody, anything but sit and just breathe. I just thought it was so boring, and I wasn't getting epiphanies or anything. And then I said to the teacher, this is boring. I'm not getting epiphanies. And he said to me, without breaking a smile, he said, If I stuck your head in a bucket of water, you wouldn't think breathing is boring, would you? Now, Okay, good point. Thank you. I understand that very much. And the next day, I meditated with a new awareness of being grateful for my breath. And then something strange happened. I started feeling like I was spinning in a circle, and I actually started feeling like I was getting nauseous, and I shook my leg to kind of feel more grounded. I was sitting in a lotus position on the floor, and it helped me stay a little more grounded. But what that was was my Kundalini awakening, the snake rising up from the root chakra, the base of the spine, up through my body. And then around that day or the next day, I had this very strange experience, another strange experience where a bubble popped up around me, and I perceived this energy bubble around me, and I felt like, Oh, my body is bigger than my body. My physical body is smaller. There's a bigger body than me. And then I heard this kind of whirring sound. It was like, and I felt ecstatic bliss Darla, and I wanted to go, you know, sing and, oh, this is, this is Samadhi. Oh, now I know what Samadhi is, and that's what I wanted to say. But of course, I had to remain silent and I experienced what is called an activation of my toroidal field. And at the time, I had no idea what was happening. But many, many years later, I read about the toroidal field. The toroidal field is our electromagnetic field around us that comes from our heart in all directions, and also, there's one in our headspace as well, and it's like our energetic field, and we can expand it or make it come closer to us. And when we learn how to master our energy centers, we can stay in the center of this beautiful toroidal field that looks like if you imagine an apple or a donut. We're in the center of the apple. We're the core of the apple, and the field goes all around us. And as a part of my free gift today, I would like to offer everybody a free audio of a guided meditation that I did of guiding you through the chakras, and then I will activate your toroidal field in this guided meditation. And it transformed my life. And then I continued traveling through India, and then I went to Japan, Continued meditating. I traveled through India for six months. So I was like floating on air. I think I'd still be part of me still floating on air in India, I think. But I ended up going to Japan because I wanted to travel the world, because I wanted to learn from, I just wanted to travel the world and learn from everywhere I went, and I want to make films, and I was looking for ideas, and I heard about the sacred run, the that was a sacred run organized by First Nation American Indian leader, Dennis Banks. Dennis Banks is the one of the founders of the sacred run, and he is one of the very famous men in the American Indian Movement. And Dennis started the sacred run in 1977 and he wanted to, he went from in 77 they ran from Nagasaki up to the north and Hokkaido, but he felt a calling that it was time to make the circle complete from Hokkaido to Hiroshima, Nagasaki. And so I was, I woke up just as soon as I saw the newspaper announcing this run, I just hit the newspaper, and I was like, This is it? This is the film I'm going to make. I have to make this film because it includes all my passion for peace, environmental awareness, indigenous wisdom. And I wasn't really a runner, but I did like to run, but I love the message of what they were carrying. And the message was basically that all life is sacred, and we were 80 people running from Hokkaido all the way to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And I'm sure many of your listeners have been following the monks that have been walking to Washington, and we've been seeing them on social media. Well, those same monks, back in 1995they had walked from Auschwitz to Japan for nine months, and Dennis Banks joined them in the walk. And then we met up with them, those monks, probably, you know, not, maybe not, maybe some of the same monks, but that sect of monks that walks for social justice and for peace. There they. We met up with them in Hiroshima, and we walked when we ran with them from Hiroshima to Nagasaki. We ate with them. We were with them. And I've walked with them many times, so it really is inspiring for me to see them walking again, now and back then when I made the film, it was 1995 and we didn't have social media, and I shot it on 60-millimeter film and and then we it took me seven years to make that film, Darla. And while I was making it, this is when my healing, I call my deconstruction and my reconstruction process. Because what happened is I came back to Canada with very, like, barely no money, like very, maybe two pennies, you know, 100 bucks or something. And I had put all my money into making the film, and I came back to Canada to do the post production. And people at the National Film Board of Canada would say, the Mother Earth subject is passe. Indigenous subjects are passed. And I was like, What? What do you mean? Like, no, we need wisdom. This is very current, you know, what's happening on the planet. And I had such a hard time getting funding to make that film, because peace and environmental awareness and indigenous people and their wisdom was not in was not really the trend in 1996 and I started shrinking and losing confidence, and I became so small, and I also discovered that I had some abuse from my childhood at that time that also needed healing. So while I was making my film, I had to heal childhood abuse, and that's why I call it my deconstruction reconstruction process, because I actually wanted to go back to the stars. I thought, what people don't like is the message inside of me. And people think I'm stupid, naive. They think I'm flaky. They were judging me. I experienced so many attacks from people that and a lot of women attacked me, and I lost confidence Darla and I almost quit, but I went through my whole healing procemany modalities that I now help my clients with, that I went through personally that helped me.  And I found myself again. And I had an experience after reading the “Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle,” who I'm sure you know, where I was learning the, you know, the practice of gratitude, because I had focused on, oh, I don't have any money. It's been so hard. I'm struggling, struggling, struggling, and then I started practicing gratitude, and I also started practicing allowing my emotions to exist, because I always thought the emotions if you're emotional, that means you're weak. And in this process of allowing myself to cry and release all the pain for myself, the Earth, the people, the animals, the planet. I started, I had this experience. It was dark, it was outside, it was raining, it was summer, and in a screen porch room, and I think I cried for five hours. It was crazy, because it was all pent up inside of me, and then I had this experience where I started feeling like I was hurtling through the cosmos, and then I exploded into this, into this oneness with everything, and it lifted me out of my depression. I've never felt depressed since it was so life transforming, and I cannot tell you how it happened, but I guess I, you know, astral traveled or something, and had this expansive experience. So now when I work with my clients, I help my clients heal any past wounds, trauma, rewire their brains, release limiting beliefs, and I help them become unstoppable by aligning with their heart and listening to the wisdom of their soul, activating their intuition and becoming unstoppable because they know that they're human and divine, and they came to Earth for a reason, and there's a purpose, and when each of us heal and take our place in the circle of life made me cry, then we're all going to be able to change the world and make it better. Sorry, I get emotional.

Speaker Dar

Andrea, that just resonates with me so strongly. And I call it truth bumps. I've got truth bumps. I'd love it if you share some specific client stories of transformation. And of course, we're going to keep their names confidential. Yes, thank you.

Speaker Andrea

So one of my clients really she's been coming to my sister's circles a lot. I have monthly sister circles for women, and she was coming to Alana, and I was launching my 12-week chakra program, and she couldn't come, but I worked with her to give her some financial easement, you know, easy payment plans, right? And she joined, and she said, I'm telling you, your life will transform. And her life transformed so much she was able to pay me back sooner.  And one year later, she joined my eight-week meditation program. And then one year later, she says, I want to do your chakra program again, because I had so much transformation the first time she said, I've never been able to meditate. I've tried and tried and tried and thought I just can't do it. But I did your eight-week meditation program, and she said, Andrea, now I can meditate easily.  So that client of mine, she's continuing working with me, and her life just keeps changing and transforming and healing. And then I have another client who was really afraid about getting married, and she had to unpack a lot of past conditioning from her childhood so she could discern what was expected of her and what her soul and her heart really wanted. And I worked with her for two years, and her life completely transformed, and and she actually invited me to her wedding, and I actually was her photographer and videographer, because I'm also a filmmaker and photographer, and we are her life is sustainably transformed. My clients have sustainable transformation because I don't just work with them on the mental level. It's a multi-dimensional shamanic healing. I use my intuition. I use many different modalities, and it's not   just me and the client. There are energies and ancestors helping us and enlightened ones

Speaker Dar:

beautiful. Thank you for sharing those stories. And the longevity of working with you is really wonderful to see too, because once someone starts to make big transformations, they sometimes just want to keep going and keep going, and especially when it's as profound as the transformation that your clients get.

Speaker Andrea

Well you know that once the mind is expanded beyond its original dimensions, it can never go back. And that's what happens when we grow in our spirituality, yes, and living consciously for sure. And if I may mention, may I mention about the film screening on March 11.

Speaker Dar

Yes, let's talk about that

Speaker  Andrea

I will be showing my film The Sacred Run, The Lotus and The Feather on March 11, at 7:30pm Eastern Time, and the film is an hour long. But everybody is welcome to come to share their hearts as well. After we watch the film, we will have a discussion and share our hearts and prayers and hopes for the world that we were all dreaming of a better world, and together, we will do it, because if you can dream it, you can make it happen.  And then if people would like to join my eight-week meditation program that's starting in March as well, they can contact me. And it's an eight-week program called “develop your superpowers, awakening the extraordinary within”.

Speaker  Dar

I love that title. So Oh, you are just so generous, because you've already mentioned the chakra activation and your film and the meditation class. Oh, just all so wonderful. And we'll have those posted in the show notes so that everybody can find out how to join in before we wrap up. I would love it if there's something else I know through your intuition, you've been getting messages through this whole interview, so I would love to have you share what you're being called to conclude with. For us,

Speaker Andrea

what I'm being called to conclude with is I'd like to share and invite everyone to join a new Facebook group that I've launched with a fellow transformational coach who's a who's a man, and I've been having this calling to restore the balance between the masculine and the feminine, and so we've created a Facebook group called the wholeness sanctuary,  and it's about understanding and healing the divide between the masculine And the feminine, healing the wounded masculine and the feminine. And we're going to have a free masterclass every month, in February, March, April, and then we'll be launching a 12 week program, but we're going to be continuing to have classes throughout the year. But I really feel this strong calling to mend the hoop between the masculine and the feminine, because so many women have been wounded by the masculine and so many men have been wounded by the feminine or the masculine. We've all been wounded, not everybody, but most of us have experienced some sort of wound. And I think when we heal this, we're going to come together, and when the masculine and the feminine come together within us, it's also going to help heal the external relationships as well between the masculine and the feminine. So I'd love everyone to join us in the wholeness sanctuary, restoring balance between the masculine and the feminine. And I also have a Facebook group for women called dragonfly sistership, where I offer free meditation every Monday. Once a month, I read tarot cards for the collective, and I offer free classes and make announcements about what's coming up. And we're going to have a podcast in there as well. All. So I would love to have everyone, and also, I would love to invite anyone who would like a free discovery call. I love coaching and I love helping people. So I would love you to call and reach out, and I'm happy to support you and find out how you're doing.

Speaker Dar

Thank you so much for this beautiful time to get to know you a little better and how we can proceed to create a better world. You've got multiple options and things for us to join in with, and so I'm so grateful for our time together today.

 Speaker Andrea

I am too Darla, because I'm sure all your listeners can feel it. There's a big shifting, a shift going on, a great awakening, and we are coming together. It's happening. Yes, we are.
