Hey, welcome in, Sonia. I'm so excited to have you with us today, and to talk about what locational astrology is. But before we get going, will you please tell our audience a little bit about yourself and how you got into this work? 

Speaker Sonia 

Yes, thank you, Dala, for inviting me. I'm always excited to talk about this topic. 

I'm so passionate about it. My name is Sonia. I am the founder of Travel Awakens, and I specialized in transformational travel. I'm a transformational travel coach and mentor, and I help people to travel in a way that's more meaningful, that's deeper, and it's not just staying in the superficial aspect of travel, but it's also the internal journey. It's about the internal journey, and one of the tools I use is actually locational astrology, or also is known as astro cartography. So that's what we are going to talk about today.

Yes, so first of all, how about defining that term and letting us know what it really is all about? 

Speaker Sonia 

Yes, because the word can be a little bit complicated, but it's actually very simple: locational astrology, or astro cartography, is the astrology of places. Okay, so we heard, perhaps, about astrology, and how astrology can help us to make decisions about time, and the best time for us to do something, perhaps. And also our birth chart, but not many people know that astrology can also be used with places, with location, with geography, so it's a combination of astrology and geography. It's like astrology for travelers and for people who are looking for more purpose and meaning in their travels or relocation decisions. 

Speaker Dar 

Well, I'm sure many of us like to travel and really get more immersed, and it sounds like you have a service to help us do that. Could you maybe give us some examples of your work? 

Speaker Sonia 

Yes, so basically I work with two different kind of people that reach out to me, so one kind of people that I can help are those who are, you know, looking for a special trip or a relocation destination, and they don't know where in the world this place is okay, so I can help them to map out potential destinations where the energy of the place is more suitable, is more supportive for them to help them for their purpose, wherever is, you know, living there or expanding their community or growing their business, or feeling, you know, maybe they want to go to a healing retreat, whatever is whatever is the intention or the purpose of their trip or the relocation. I can help them to map out where in the world are potential destinations that would be more suitable for them to achieve these goals. The other kind of people that I work with, Faria, can help are the people who already have the destination, already decided the destination, or sometimes is the destination that chooses them. Perhaps they've been asked to move to another place, another country for work reasons or family reasons, or I don't know, they cannot choose a destination, but they, or maybe they feel called to go to a place, and they don't understand why. So, I can help them by then checking their, you know, relocation astrology map to see what this place has in store for them. So, why do they feel called to go there, what's intended, what? What is their soul calling them to experience there, so they can prepare properly ahead of the trip. So I also have examples that I can give you, and clients that I work with, if this will help. But basically, these are the two aspects that I work with when it comes to the astro cartography 

Speaker Dar 

That sounds so interesting, and what a great advantage that would be if someone is going to move to grow their business, or they have to move because of their business. I would think that you would be a great resource for them, for sure. Could you give us some client examples, of course, keeping your clients confidential? 

Speaker Sonia 

Yes, so for example, I had this client that came to me, and she was about to move with her family to a destination and. But checking, well, was just a temporary trip, but checking her astro map, and we, we, we saw that it was something more than just a vacation for her. There actually was an opportunity for her to grow her business, so knowing that she prepared accordingly for that. So when she came back, she shared with me the contacts that she did for her business, so she used that for networking and actually did create great connections and expanded her network with interesting contacts that helped her to grow her business. So that's an example that if you don't know what this can be an opportunity for, you and the people that you will meet have this opportunity in front of you. You will not just pay attention to that and miss opportunities that may be there, available also for other people who feel called to places that they are thinking they are maybe at crossroads in their lives. So I also have clients who are looking to make decisions about what's next, so if they come with the intention, but they don't know the destination, that's the other side of the spectrum, and they ask where in the world it can be a country or even a city, if they want to narrow down more, that can help them to make this decision, so we can look at destinations where they feel this clarity, but also the confidence and the determination to actually do things different, so make a decision that's so strong that they are gonna move forward with with that decision when they are going back home, because this is something that happens that sometimes travel gives us this new perspective, and you know, show us what's possible for us, and we can play with different parts of our also personality, and we see, you know, things that we didn't see in our small comfort zone, but then when we go back home, it's like all these kind of fakes away, so to have this determination and confidence is very important. So, when you are back, you're actually ready to implement. So, there are destinations and places that will help you connect with that part of your personality. It's not that you are going to change, you are going to still be the same person. It's just some parts of your personality are going to be tuned, you know, the volume is going to be up for you, so some places will, you know, put forward some parts of your personality that maybe are more shy or insecure, but others that can be more social or more happy or more, you know, cheerful. So there are different places based on what you want to decide, what is the intention for you to do there in that destination?

So, let me ask you, that is so interesting. Is it a combination of the personality of the person and the geography of the area? Is that what we're looking at, 

Speaker Sonia 

so how it works. If you're interested, because if you are anything like me, maybe you like to kind of rationalize this, and it's something that it's difficult to rationalize, because this is something that that's very real when you feel it in your body, when you are in a place that feels very aligned, and you feel like home, and the opposite, that you are in a place that you don't know why, but does not feel good, so there is no maybe rational explanation for that, but it's very real when you experience it, but just for you know, from the research I did myself, because just years ago I didn't know anything about astrology, I had to learn, and it's been years of learning and improving, and you know, going deeper with this work, but actually, the way I see the bear chart, everybody in the moment we were born is like we took a snapshot, a picture of how the patterns of the universe, the, you know, planets and other celestial bodies were, and we have this inside of us. This is our birth chart. So, maybe you have heard this theory that there is in quantum physics there is this belief that the universe works in patterns, like you know, patterns within patterns, like I always give the example of a broccoli. This pattern that is called fractal, which means that every piece is the same shape, contains the whole, you know. If you see a little piece of broccoli, it is the same shape as the whole broccoli. So this happens in nature, you know. If you see branches of trees, but the rivers also, the blood vessels in our bodies, these are, you know, the patterns of the branches are kind of the same of the tree, also with clouds, you know, every piece of the cloud is kind of the whole shape of the cloud, so it happens with snowflakes, many things, right, so there is this theory in quantum physics that the universe works a. A hologram, so this is a theory supported by colleagues of Einstein, you know that support this theory, and you can also, you know, go down the rabbit hole in this, in this direction, but basically it's that, that the universe works the like a hologram, and in a hologram, every piece of the hologram contains the whole hologram, the whole image, it's not like every piece is a part of the image, is is every piece is the whole image. So that's the same when you arrive to this world, it's like you, the celestial bodies and planets, they were in a pattern. Okay, so they were in a distribution pattern that you took a snapshot of that, and this is within yourself, and this is your birth chart, so this does not change in your life, but as you move geographically, some planets, because every planet is associated with a planet archetype, and every planet archetype, there is a meaning, there is a part of your soul and your personality, as I mentioned earlier, that is more, you know, the volume is up to this part of your personality, and as you move geographically, this bird chart is turning towards angles, that's called there are four four angles in a chart. So, as you move geographically, every planet can move closer to an angle, which means the closer to an angle is the stronger, it's more is brought to the front of your personality, so this is how it works in a snapshot. So I hope this clarifies your question. 

Speaker Dar 

That was a beautiful, great explanation, and I love the broccoli analogy. 

Speaker Sonia 

And some people say, what do.. how do you compare astrology with a broccoli, so I think it's the most simple way, because we all have, you know, or have seen broccoli, or we have it at home, so we can see very clearly how the pattern that has. 

Speaker Dar  

Yes, and I've read a lot about holograms, so when you compare them to broccoli, that really, really resonated with me, great comparison. Well, could you take us through some kind of activity that will get us a little closer to understanding how this works? 

Speaker Sonia  

Yes. Okay, so I would like you to guide you to a short visualization, so if you want to close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths. Make sure you relax your shoulders, and you just breathe very deeply, deeper than you are used to, maybe a couple of times to relax all the muscles. Now we close our eyes and we go back to that place in the past that we traveled to that we arrived for the first time, maybe you've never been there before, but it felt like you were home, you you felt this feeling of calm, harmony, joy. It's like you belong there, and perhaps you were traveling with somebody else, and they didn't feel the same way you felt, they actually didn't understand why you liked this place so much, but you knew in something, even if you could not explain rationally, you knew that place was special, so it would like you to remember what was the feeling and how did you know where in your body you notice that was a special place, and also the opposite, perhaps you don't have a example of this one, but you have an example of the opposite, that you travel to a place, so you arrived to a place, a destination that you never been before, and you had, like, a awkward feeling, like something was off with that place, and again, maybe no rational explanation, no reason, nothing happened necessarily, but you didn't like how it felt, and maybe your colleagues, they ask you why you don't like this, and they tell you all the reasons why it's a beautiful place, and rationally they are right, but how you felt, how was you know what was telling you that was not a place that you would like to spend more days, or you would like to repeat, so you would like to pay attention, you to pay attention to these parts of your body where you felt that maybe it was in your belly, maybe it was in your chest, on your throat, other parts of your body, and the feelings what you were experiencing, so you had these experiences. Place chances are that you were under a supportive or not supportive line in your astro cartography map, so I believe this is one of the best ways to understand what this map is telling you, so instead of traveling and going trial and error to find places, it helps you to map out these places, so you can arrive there and decide how do you want to feel. So, sometimes people tell me when we have sessions, greetings, that they are looking for a place that's a flowing line, that's a supportive line, but actually, what's going on in their lives, they need a place that's actually a little bit more challenging for them to be able to heal what they need to heal, or to make a decision in the direction they know they have to take, so with that, I want to say that not necessarily a place that feels bad or brings up some triggers or some parts of your personality that you don't want to look at are bad for you. Sometimes this is exactly what you need to be able to look at them, be aware of them, heal them, and then grow from that experience

That is so interesting, and I was able to have examples of both, and I think it brought me a little bit more insight into your work. 

Speaker Sonia 

Thank you. That, like, yes, I believe many people can have temples of places that they felt this way, or at least you know, different from what they usually experience in their home place. 

Speaker Dar 

Yes, and like you said, when you're somewhere that really resonates with you, it really doesn't matter what other people are thinking, because you're just immersed in how wonderful it is. 

Speaker Dar   

Yes, and it's very unique. So, the place you know that is good for you is not necessarily good for the other person. That's why I also do relocation charts and readings for couples and families, because it's not the same. So, we can look at these composite charts when you are thinking about moving with somebody else, because it's important that the place is good for you, but also for the other person or the other people. So, yeah, that's something that also needs to be considered if you are not on your own. 

Speaker Dar 

What a value to have a family chart, you know, so that everybody is going to flourish and be comfortable there. 

Speaker Sonia  

Exactly.

Yes, I believe it's also interesting to know that astral cartography can be used. This is a powerful tool that can be used even if you are not planning to travel, because sometimes people, for some reasons, cannot travel to the destination that they know will be suitable for them, but there are ways to bring this destination in your life. For example, people who are born in the place, they carry the energy of the place, so if let's say, for you, would be very supportive to stay in Japan, but you cannot travel, for you know logistic and reasons of that are not maybe depending on you, but you can still, you know, meet people who are born in Japan, maybe in your town or in a city nearby you, or start reading books written by authors from that place, or you know, watching movies or listening to music that are from artists that are from that place, surrounding yourself by the cuisine, by the culture, you know, start bringing more of Japan in your, in your home, in your place, that will also help you, but also. I also have clients that have business, for example, online business, so they use this tool, Destro Cartography, to actually learn where in the world they should target their, for example, paid ads or where their clients are, so they don't necessarily need to travel to those places, but where the networking would be good for them, or where they can find clients, so they know in what markets in the world they should target and focus their marketing efforts.
