Picture this: a molecule so essential, it's present in every single cell, tirelessly working to protect us from aging, bolster our immune defenses, and optimize our detoxification processes. As we age, our natural production of glutathione dwindles, making it all the more crucial to understand its role in our health.

This episode peels back the layers on why boosting glutathione levels may be the secret to maintaining that youthful glow, sharpening your brain, and keeping your energy high past the 40-year mark.

People who've incorporated this powerhouse into their routine have reported a surge in vitality, better sleep, and radiant skin. Listen in as I break down the science and research behind this amazing molecule.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Dirobi Health Show. Today I'm talking about something that is kind of different and unique. It's probably the best supplement that you've never heard of. Well, if you're a fan of Dirobi and Dirobi products, you've heard of it. But other people listening would not know or have heard of glutathione because it's just not near as popular as, say, multivitamins, protein powders and minerals. However, it may be superior in some aspects to all of those. Let me tell you why.

Speaker 1:

The human body is completely dependent on glutathione for survival. Unlike proteins, carbs, fats, vitamins and minerals, our body contains glutathione in every single cell. So carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals are essential for our health, of course, but the way it works is we eat those things and then our body turns them into the energy that we need and can create the cells and give us life. However, all that stuff is also feeding our body so that it can create things like glutathione within itself. Glutathione has been called the master antioxidant. It's the body's defense system against wear and tear in daily life. It aids in detoxification. It bolsters immune system. It supports overall health. It's an amazing little molecule and, as I mentioned, in every single cell it's a tripeptide, which means it's a simple protein composed of three amino acids glutamine, glycine and cysteine. Now here's what's so interesting is, glutathione has many, many benefits and again, our body makes it, but over time it makes less and less, and it's considered an important reason why people age, or especially age prematurely, is their body's inability to produce glutathione over time. So supplementing with glutathione can, for some people, have a bigger impact on their health than any other supplement they could take, especially if they're over about 35 or 40 years old, although before that it can have a major effect as well. It depends how well their body is doing it. Producing it. It tends to. The body's ability to produce it tends to drop fairly steadily over the years, so boosting it can have a huge effect. It actively participates in detoxifying harmful oxidants known as free radicals, which is part of the aging process, and this is crucial for a healthy balance within ourselves that prevents the ongoing damage that eventually leads to death. So this is like the ultimate anti-aging supplement.

Speaker 1:

Okay, it also protects our mitochondria. Let's go all the way back to science classes here and hopefully you remember what mitochondria is a important part of the cell. It is the cellular powerhouse, in a way, making sure cells function without interruption. It works with glucose, potassium and cholesterol in our cells to safeguard them from damage. So it's not just a supplement, it's a molecule that's absolutely vital to our body. It defends our health, it promotes longevity and it ensures the cells' integrity and vitality day in and day out.

Speaker 1:

The benefits are detoxification, which I've already talked about. This is the ultimate detox. It's not a digestive detox, it is a cellular level detox. It also supports the liver, which, of course, is directly helping to detox our body all day long. It assists in purging harmful substances, ensuring that we can cleanse properly. It boosts the immune system, and so it helps our body's ability to fight off infections and diseases. One of the testimonials we get on a regular basis you can see these at amazoncom and dyrobycom is everyone in the office got sick but me, which is a pretty cool testimonial, right, and that's because of this immune support that it supplies.

Speaker 1:

Now here's an interesting one Skin health. Glutathione has gained acclaim, and there's multiple studies on its skin health properties. It contributes to brighter, more radiant complexion because it reduces the melanin production and it protects skin cells from damage caused by UV exposure and other environmental factors. It can also and this again has been clinically studied. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles and it also preserves skin elasticity. So this is actually a beauty product in a sense. It's helping to give us a better skin Because it's combating oxidative stress and reducing impact of free radicals.

Speaker 1:

It can slow the signs of aging, so it is known as an anti-aging supplement. It also helps protect the brain from degeneration and there are some research now that it is actually a great way to prevent Parkinson's disease and other diseases. We assume as well. I don't know of research about other prevention of other brain diseases than Parkinson's, but I have seen one scientific study that has linked high glutathione levels to lower risk of Parkinson's, so hopefully you get the idea here. This is quite an important little molecule, even if we've never heard of it, even if it's not the kind of supplement that we buy when we go out to get our supplements. This is one to definitely add to the list, and some of the things that are working against us right are aging. Of course we're all aging and so we want to do things to slow that process as well as we can.

Speaker 1:

We have our modern lifestyles increase our stress, and stress is another thing that taking glutathione can help, because stress leads to chronic sleep problems, poor dietary choices, and these things can reduce glutathione production in our body as well. Now, there are foods that contain glutathione and we should definitely eat those, and they're mostly the cruciferous vegetables, right? Broccoli, onions, garlic as well. Well, broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable, but you get the idea. However, it's very, very difficult to get enough glutathione, and the cooking process reduces the glutathione, and so you can take a glutathione test and so you can determine whether your glutathione levels are okay. As a matter of fact, next time you get a physical, it would be well worth asking your doctor if they can throw in a glutathione test. They may think that's a nod request, but trust me, if you're over again at 35 or 40 years old, it could be very beneficial just to make sure your glutathione levels are high enough. Did you know, for example, many hospitals provide glutathione as part of their postoperative procedure because it boosts the system and surgery releases anti-ox free radicals sorry, is hard on the body and hospitals inject it in their IV cocktail that they often give people post-operation.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now there's different types of glutathione, however. Remember what I said about how the body produces glutathione. So the problem is is that if you swallow a peptide, then your body, your stomach, doesn't know what to do with that. It wants to break everything down, and so oral supplementation of glutathione isn't wise, because pills and capsules go into your stomach. Your stomach doesn't know what to do with it. Imagine it's like drinking blood. I know this sounds super gross, but if you need more blood, they're not going to have you drink it. Your body would digest it and break it down, and no more blood would end up in your system. It has to be put directly in the bloodstream. It's the same with glutathione, so people try to produce liposomal glutathione because it will get more glutathione in the system, but it'll still be a tiny fraction of what you swallowed. You can also get glutathione injections I already mentioned that post-op, and there are people who are so low on glutathione they need to get injections.

Speaker 1:

However, we have determined that the two very best ways to get glutathione are as a spray, which is how we sell Mimi's Miracle Glutathione, or an ennebulizer, and this is something that people often do if they're having a respiratory problem is they will nebulize glue to thion. Whether you nebulize it or take it as a spray, it's the same process. You take six sprays orally and then try not to swallow it. Swish it around your mouth and let it absorb directly into your bloodstream through the walls of your mouth, and that method will bypass the digestive system. Make sure it goes into your bloodstream and gets used. And then the nebulizer the same thing. You put six sprays into your nebulizer and then you nebulize for the next 10 to 15 minutes, or whatever the instructions are on your nebulizer, but you use the same amount, and we have quite a few people who do that as a matter of fact. So that is what we, you know, strongly argue for is that you take glutathione in a format that will go directly into your bloodstream and bypass the digestive system.

Speaker 1:

So these are some things about glutathione that I hope you find interesting. I find it interesting. I take it every single day. I take it twice a day. I spray six sprays in my mouth every morning and every evening at dinner, and I recommend that you do as well. It's not an expensive supplement, so you know. You can check it out at dirobycom. Use the code podcast to save 10%. I'm also going to create a blog post about this, as I do on every episode. That will include some of the scientific research that was used for this episode. It is one.

Speaker 1:

A couple last things. It is safe. The safety profile is very good. There are no contraindications, other than if you're taking acetaminophen. Acetaminophen, sorry, and that's oh my gosh, that one is. It's not Tylenol, right? It's oh my gosh. Hey, I'm too far into this podcast to stop and correct anything. I'm just going to say acetaminophen. Be careful with glutathione because it may interact, so you can check that online to see if yours will react with glutathione. Otherwise, the safety profile is very, very good.

Speaker 1:

Another thing that you can do that's interesting is you can spray it into your face or body cream. Just take a spray, spray it in, mix it up, put it on your face, because some of the research on the skin benefits of glutathione were done with topical, so most of them are done when you take it internally, as with Mimi's Miracle Glutathione. However, if you put it directly on your face, you'll get benefits as well. Your skin cells know what to do with glutathione and there are studies that show that people have a more bright complexion, lightened skin and reduced wrinkles from applying it directly. So there you go Glutathione, possibly the best supplement you've never heard of Find hours, which I firmly believe is in the absolute best format of a spray.

Speaker 1:

By the way, it tastes good and if you're going to put a spray in your mouth, you don't want to have something gross. Glutathione is an incredibly different molecule to flavor because in its raw form it tastes like sulfur. So I'm actually very proud of our team and how we've come up with a flavor profile that is not only palatable but tastes nice. We get comments on it, especially people who've taken other liquid glutathions. They often don't want to take any more because they taste that sulfur and it's really gross, and ours is not. So there you go.

Speaker 1:

So check out Mimi's Miracle Glutathione at dirobycom Use code podcast to save 10% and you might never go back. Benefits can be all over the map. As a matter of fact, of all the products that we get, testimonials on, this might be the most diverse, and the reason why is because when you're low on glutathione, because it's so critical to your body and in every single cell that when you start getting it, the benefits can manifest in almost any way you can imagine from increased energy to better sleep, to better skin, to just an overall better sense of well-being, because it's fundamental to your health. Until next time. This is Dave Sherwin, wishing you health and success.
