32. Learning How To Socialise Again
For anyone about to step back in to a physical workplace again, preparing to 'rejoin well' is probably as useful as planning the commute again. As teams return to a physical workplace, relearning how to socialise outside our bubble will require emotional intelligence and resilience to be physically sharing each other’s space. So much has happened and we each hold a different perspective and set of opinions surrounding the pandemic. We know that diverse and inclusive cultures deliver energy and creativity, yet to achieve this we need to understand there may be differences of opinion and diversity of world view. Suddenly, our personal choices are potentially going to impact others around us which may create mixed feelings that cannot be muted behind the screen. We discuss ideas to help a reacquainted team work well together and to positively socialise around the watercooler again.
