45. Prioritise Selfcare - Little Breaks Prevent Breakdown
This episode is for all those who focus on helping others to be ok, to have the confidence to look after themselves with the same care. For the digital overload is real, not just your imagination! Microsoft has published data showing the extent of digital overload for the millions working from home prompted by the pandemic, we share the stats but in short: higher productivity is masking exhaustion, and with newspapers suggesting 40% of adults are looking to leave their current job - for many this overwork has become a breaking point to trigger change.
But if overwork is everywhere, then a change of job may not be the magic answer. We need to learn how to look after ourselves without the natural cues from the outside world. We are joined this week by the fabulous fellow coach Leila Rezaiguia who shares her wisdom on the role self-care has on performance, joy and overall life experience. Leila mentors leaders and coaches all around the world as the co-founder of kompassconsultancy.com. She's a breath of fresh air and we love the fact we met via the online world and our paths might not have crossed had it not been for digital working :-)
