Slam the Gavel welcomes Riti Chikkerur to the podcast. Riti Chikkerur is Executive Director of OCCM, Our Children Matter Most.
OCMM is a children's rights advocacy non-profit organization headquartered in Austin, Texas with a mission to "Protect, preserve and promote the rights of our children for the benefit of humanity."
OCMM collaborates with civil rights organizations such as the NAACP and ACLU, advocacy groups, Family Courts and Legislators to develop and implement creative campaigns to restore the rights of our children.
Riti explains that this was child inspired by her little boy who suggested a Shanti Walk. Riti wants to find solutions and that there is strength in numbers Nationwide. The entire family court system is dysfunctional and beyond disrepair. Change happens when society is marginalized and rights taken away, where the public has had enough, and this causes awareness to the problem.
OCMM is a non-violent, direct action campaign with a Finding of Fact. The Shanti Walk is a self purification, self healing process. Riti has done a Shanti Walk in 2021 in California as well. There will be Truth, Reconciliations and Consequences for those that have aided and abetted this destruction to families with children involved in the Family Court arena and this means legal action as well as class action lawsuits for Families that have been put through an unjust system. Restorative JUSTICE.
On November 20th, 2022, marking World Children's Day, OCMM starts their Shanti (Peace) Walks 2022 with the support and collaboration of NAACP-Austin and other civil rights organizations.
The Shanti Walks will be held every day from 4:00pm to 6:00pm CST at the Texas State Capitol building starting November 20th through November 30th, 2022. This event is FREE and welcomes all who are seeking peaceful solutions to issues plaguing our children, especially issues that have arisen from the corrupt Family Court dynamics that destroys families and their children.
