Show Notes

Slam the Gavel welcomes guest Cordell Ellis, Book Author. It has taken him two years to write his book, "The Forty Mile Journey," that he began while incarcerated.  He uses his past experiences between the ages of 5 to 45, as an an example showing at risk youth and others the consequences of negative decisions.
Moenspire 365, LLC was established to support people through negative life trauma. Cordell also volunteers his time with the Micah Project assisting incarcerated citizens achieve success through motivational speaking engagements. He also works with Brothers At Peace Organization as a mentor striving to push our youth  to their full potential and to reach their dreams, goals and aspirations.
We discussed generational curses, past issues and traumatic experiences. Cordell talked about his childhood, growing up and how his poor life choices heavily affected his life. However, Cordell wrote his book to help instill HOPE in the lives of others.
Passive-aggressive behaviors and toxic behaviors should be recognized and Cordell encourages to observe people's actions. The people you trust the most may harm you the most.
Social media has made people anti-social and selfish which has made relationships based on convenience and are platonic. People are not personable anymore. Children are being exposed to too much that they do not understand. There should be conversation with effective communication. Youth are acting spontaneously without thinking their actions through and there are consequences to their actions. Being at the wrong place at the wrong time, places you go and involve yourself in are very important issues.
Progress is a process and build strength through struggles and purpose produces power. No child will say that when they grow up they want to go to jail. Positive reinforcement is so important to young people so they can make positive decisions.
NEVER GIVE UP, Cordell states as you never know where the paths of life may take you. Be able to realize and recognize them with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Cordell is a positive and motivational speaker in the lives of others.
