First Out of the Water with Jan Sibbersen
Jan Sibbersen broke the Kona swim record in 2018, recording an incredible 46.29 at age 43, many years after being first out of the water at his first race there. With German national swim team experience, he embraced triathlon initially in the off season, but it soon became his passion.
After multiple Kona appearances, he went on to manage a young promising Ironman athlete by the name of Patrick Lange! He also decided to step away from the corporate investment banking world at set up his own wetsuit brand, Sailfish, which now sponsors many top athletes from around the world.
Claire and I wanted to chat to Jan about 'the energy of leading the race', how to choose the right wetsuit and how triathletes can improve their swim race times.
