Hi, this is Shelly Treacher from Underground Confidence. Today I'm giving you another small bite podcast. As we age or go into the menopause, we can start to resent our bodies for not being able to do what they used to be able to do. This, on top of being a comfort eater who hates your body, can be really destructive. So today I'm just gonna urge you to start to see your body differently. See what your body actually does for you or enables you to do, rather than focusing on what it looks like and objectifying yourself. There are very few functions that you perform that don't involve your body. Your body helps you to do everything in life. I run a lovely exercise where I ask people to write a letter of appreciation to their bodies about all the different things that it allows them to do, and this stretches from your toes to your head, from your internal organs to your skin and your hair, to your breathing, to every function that your body actually does for you. There's a lot that it does all day, every single day, and it deserves a lot of appreciation, which none of us give it when we're looking in the mirror thinking, you ugly cow. So I'm just asking today for you to start thinking about one thing that your body does for you that you really wouldn't want to live without that makes your life a much happier thing to live. My example for today? One thing that I find absolutely exquisite every single day is playing with my cat. She's a really playful little tiny black cat, and she wants to play about six times a day, but we always play at bedtime. And I love this time of day. My body allows me to crouch on the floor, to throw the ball to her, to feel all the exquisite feelings that I feel when she does something funny or delightful, and it's over with in a few seconds, but it's the best part of my day, and then we cuddle, and my body allows me to feel that warmth and comfort, and it allows me to get into that posture and position. So, what one thing do you absolutely love in your day? Or in your life, and how does your body allow you to do that? List all the ways that your body gets involved. That's it for today. Thank you so much. I'll see you on Wednesday. This is Underground Confidence with Shelly Treachery.
