#59 Mikey Helg: Rugby to Pro Boxing, Identity Crisis, Keeping the Ego in Check

Marwin Silerio & Shenae Bearman Episode 59

In this weeks episode we chat to professional boxer "Magic" Mikey Helg. Mikey shares his experience of having to accept that he wasn't going to be good enough as a rugby player, dealing with having to give that up, feeling lost and adopting bad behaviours and then how combat sports gave him something to work towards. In a sport where most people wouldn't dare to do, Mikey shares an insight on what his relationship with fighting is, how it allows him to feel free and what the process of a training camp brings out of him. From wins, to losses to keeping his humility this is the first time where Mikey shares stories he's never said before.
