#69 Saraya Lindsay: Pregnancy To Depression, Femmi Empire, Dealing With an Eating Disorder

Marwin Silerio & Shenae Bearman Episode 69

Saraya Lindsay is an influential role model in the NZ running community. She's an absolute powerhouse when it comes to racing and is dedicated to helping women celebrate their bodies through movement and community. What surprised us the most was how she was forced out of her eating disorder by something completely out of her control, and that ultimately changed her life. She openly shares incredibly dark moments from her postpartum period and the crippling doubts she had about being a mother. She also discusses how a conversation with someone opened up the possibility of her seeking professional help. Like all high-achievers, Saraya is very hard on herself. We discuss how putting too much pressure on yourself can help you reach ambitious goals, but it can also hinder you from experiencing the freedom to have fun.
