And also as well, I do upload these episodes on the Living the Empowered Life YouTube channel, and you can catch those audio video episodes over there. But I thank you all for listening in and I thank you for your support. And in this episode today, I just want to share with you some things that five years of podcasting has taught me. Now this is episode 122, and even saying that, it feels like such a surreal thing because I started this podcast back in November 2020. So it was during the whole pandemic time, and you know, I just felt an impression on my heart that I should start this podcast and how it just all came about. You know, I just went on Amazon, you know, bought a mic, I did a little bit of research about what mics use for podcasting podcasting, also as well, you know, I watched a person's video who teaches people how to do this stuff, and I just kind of ran with the the vision of doing it, you know. I just got the podcast, I got the mic, got my headphones podcasting, and watched a couple of videos and then just set it up and did it myself. And I've been doing it like that ever since. And I realised actually over the last five years, I've not really shared much about what podcasting has taught me and kind of the impact it's had on other people. And I want you to do that in this episode today because I want to encourage you if you're somebody who has got a gift or a calling or a purpose or something in your heart that you want to do that you believe that you're called to do it and think it will benefit or value other people and you're scared to do it, I just want to say to you, you know, you can do it. I did it, and I know you can do it, and there may be different routes and steps that you have to take, but I want to encourage you in this podcast today to step out and do that thing just like I stepped out and did this podcast. So before I share a few things about what five years of podcasting has taught me, I want to share with you some stats about my podcast. Now, it may not be a big thing to other people, but it's definitely a big thing to me because anybody that listens to my podcast is, you know, for me it's an encouragement because it means that somebody has taken valuable time out of their day to listen in, to hear what I've got to say. And for me, that is a really big encouragement and a positive thing. So I want to share with you some all-time stats about this podcast. So, as I mentioned, I started it November, I think it was November 29th, 2020, during the pandemic. During that time in my life, lots of different things were going on, both good, both both good and bad. But there was also things going on in my life that were birthed during the pandemic as well. You know, I launched some online courses, the coverage course. You can still find that on my website, umimimpowerment.com. I birthed that during the pandemic. I started to pivot my training and consultancy work onto online platforms, and as a matter of fact, I taught myself how to do Zoom and MS Teams, and then I had a contract from that that came out of nowhere because people within an organization didn't know how to use MS Teams Online. I put together a whole training package and delivered that. So I started to deliver online training content to different organisations and people, and also as well, as I mentioned, I also birthed this podcast. So lots of things were birthed, obviously, in a very difficult time for everybody during the pan during the pandemic. You know, for me, a lot of a lot of things were birthed, I should say, during the pandemic. So the episodes and the podcast and everything that I do with Living the Empowered Life was one of them. So my all-time stats for this podcast is that it's had 2,950 downloads. For me, that is an amazing achievement. I am so proud of the fact that you know I've been able to achieve that. It's an amazing feeling to know that there has been 2,950 downloads. And yes, I know for a lot of people that might not be a big deal, but for me, it's an actual big deal. You know, and every month people are downloading episodes, both new and old. Also, as well, where people are listening to these episodes, and I want to share with you some stats on that as well. So, you know, during this all-time episodes of 2,950 downloads, 1,356 of those has come from the United States, 577 from Germany, 442 from UK, 138 from Singapore, 92 from Netherlands, 52 from Brazil, 37 from India, 32 from Indonesia, 23 from Canada, 23 from Spain, 22 in Vietnam, United Emirates 13, Finland 13%, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Ireland, all these different places, literally all different parts of the world, people have been listening to this podcast. You know, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Oceana, so many different places, so many different, you know, cities as well. And for me that is a huge thing. And, you know, I'm just really blessed that my podcast has been able to reach that far. I don't know how. If you are somebody listening in from whatever country you are listening in from, please drop me in the fan mail part of the podcast. You will see a box there where you can send me a text. Let me know, you know, where you're listening in from. But you know, it's just no one, it's just a wonderful achievement to be able to do that. So for me, it's very encouraging, and I know there has been times in the last year or maybe nine months I haven't been as consistent as I would like, just because of really demanding commitments in my consultancy training work. But you know, as I said in other episodes, that was for a reason and a season, and that season is coming to an end. I still will always be busy, but the level of demand that I've had over the last few months is going to start to kind of lessen in the next couple of months. So I'm really pleased about that. It's been a huge learning curve, and that's something I will share on another episode. What I've learned about stepping into something that was totally outside of my comfort zone. But I just want to share these things with you about what podcasting has taught me, and I hope that encourages you. The first thing that five years of podcasting has taught me is that you can make an impact where you are at, and I didn't mean that to rhyme, but it is so true. You can make an impact where you're at. A lot of the time when people think of impact, they think that it has to be some big, overwhelming, major thing with lots of attention, lots of detail, and just lots of you know, lots of focus. But you know what I've learned from doing this podcast over the last five years? That impacts can come in just doing the things that you are good at without the fat and fare, without the noise, without the attention. Now, when I mentioned about the 2950 episodes, compared to major people's episodes, that's probably not even 1% or even a drop in the ocean. But for me, those 2950 downloads represent impact. It represents somebody has listened in and heard what I've got to say. And that's the thing, when you have that small level impact, it opens up so many other doors. For me, it's helped me to shape my thinking about things to do with personal development and what being more attentive to kind of also listen to the conversations and the things that people tell me about their struggles with living the empowered life. When you can understand that you can make impact where you're at, it will open so many doors for you in terms of the way you think, the way you view things. Like what I said at the beginning of the episode, you know, this is an encouragement to you. If you have a calling, a purpose, or something that you feel on your heart that you should be doing, start it. Do it. When I started this podcast, as I mentioned, I started with a mic and some headphones off Amazon. I learned, you know, how to do podcasting through YouTube videos and how to edit and stuff. And I'm still doing all that stuff myself up until this day. It's now five years later. Um six years later nearly, and I'm still doing this stuff. But the impact that I've had just from people listening to the podcast and maybe you know sending me an email from people who've then gone on to listen from my podcast to buy my books about how they have been encouraged and felt that you know the things that are shared has helped them to see things in a different light, especially for those who are like 40 plus, you know, is a huge blessing to me. It's a huge encouragement to me. And even if it was only one person that had said that to me, I would still take it the same way because I'm making an impact. I've made an impact, I should say, in someone's life. And that is what I want to say to you today. You don't have to have all the pieces together or have what you want to do polished or perfect. You can make impact where you're at. It may be one person in your circle, one person in your community. It doesn't matter, you know, let that one person be your focus. You don't have to have a huge audience of people or loads of people, you know, cheering you on and stuff like that. In your heart, you know, your intention is to make a change with the things that you feel are valuable, you know, the things that are in your heart, the things that you know, your knowledge, your skills, whatever it is. Your intention is to share that to make an impact. And that is what five years of podcasting has taught me. When I see all these stats, when I hear people who say they've listened to my podcasts and stuff like that, I know that I've made an impact. And I use every listen, every word of encouragement, every comment to help me to continue on, you know, and to stay focused. And I know that, you know, it's not easy, but I know that it is worth it, and that is the difference. Things that are worth it are never going to be easy, but you have to keep focused on why you want to make an impact and keep focused on all those small little things that have, you know, that will chair you on in doing that. And that is my advice to you today. Make an impact where you're at. That brings me neatly on to the second thing that five years of podcasting has taught me, and that is that there's always someone that appreciates what you do. Just like I just said, you know, the little comments that I get, the emails, the, you know, the kind of thoughts that people have from listening to my episodes, you know, it is a real blessing, as I've said. And I know that there is someone out there that always appreciates what I do. Now I'm not doing it for the appreciation, I'm doing it because I want to make impact. And with my life experience, knowledge, skills, and wisdom, I want to kind of help people to live an empowered life. You know, that's always kind of the first stance I start from. I want to make this impact. But I know that there are people out there who appreciate what I do. You know, I know I've got a lot of people who listen and listen in who don't ever comment. And I know that there are people who do listen in who do take the time to just drop me a line to say, you know, what they thought about a certain episode and what it made them think about. And that is one of the things that five years of podcasting has taught me. And you may not always see it, and you may not always hear it from other people in the things that you're going to do, but and but I want you to know that there is there is and will be somebody out there that appreciates what you share, appreciates your value, appreciates your knowledge, and as I said, it may not be it may be seen, it may not be seen, but there is always going to be somebody out there that appreciates the value that you are sharing. And the last quick thing I want to share with you about what five years of podcasting has taught me is that when you're determined to bring something to life, your passion and motivation will help you to do it. Now, I've just shared during this course of this podcast how you know having that impression on my heart that I, you know, should start a podcast during the pandemic and being determined to do that and the things that I did in order to bring that to life, as I've just shared, you know, that has been my passion, that has been my motivation, you know, and it made me determined to do it. It was never easy. I got frustrated a lot of the time when I started this podcast. I currently am still recording my podcast in my home office. I don't hire studio space. You know, I am a believer in if I've got everything to hand here, I'll just try and make do with it because I don't want to really spend any uh any more unnecessary money. But obviously, as my podcast grows, the changes will happen and the demands will be different, and that is something that I have to consider. But because I was so determined and passionate and motivated about starting this podcast, I just did it with what I had, with where I was, and you know, just got on with it. And you'll find if you have a passion and motivation for that thing in your heart that you feel that you want to share to help make an impact in other people's lives, you will find that if you have the passion and motivation for that, you'll find a way. You'll find a way, and you won't worry about whether things are perfect, whether things are just right. I know, recording in my home office, somewhere I my home office is located, there's a road, you know, behind me. I know there are times where I have to stop and start the podcast when I'm talking because of cars going by, because of motorbikes, because of noise and stuff. And, you know, I do that because I am determined to get this podcast done. I'm determined, even if I have to stop and start, to do that episode, because I know that there are people out there waiting for me to upload it. So you will not be deterred by the little things, the irritating things that you wish were perfect. You will just do it and find a way around it. And that is the beauty of having passion and motivation. Passion and motivation are two of the most powerful things that will help you to not only go out and you know bring impact to other people, but also it's the driving force to help you to live an empowered life. Passion and motivation for me has been the main things that has helped me to weather some of the hardest of storms, you know, besides you know, praying and asking God for strength and you know continuing to try and keep focused, passion and motivation is what's kept me here. You know, I've read some stats from you know the podcasting website that says that most people don't make it to five years of podcasting, they give up, they lose the passion, they lose the motivation. Maybe there are things that come up in life as well that kind of deters them because, you know, of busyness and stuff. And as I've said in this podcast, you know, the last nine months has not been easy for for me as somebody who's always been consistent for more or less four years before that of delivering the bi-weekly episodes. You know, there were times where I was thinking, oh, maybe I should take a break, or maybe I shouldn't do it anymore and stuff. But no, the passion and motivation are the things that keeps me coming back to it, even if my episodes are like late, even if I feel like you know I don't have the energy to do it. So it's so important, you know, that you let passion and motivation be your fuel in the things that you want to do. And that is what podcasting has taught me over the last five years. I couldn't do these episodes without passion and motivation for what I believe I should be doing. So that is what I wanted to share with you in this episode, you know, what five years of podcasting has taught me. I know there's many more things it has taught me. I have some observations about, you know, my beginning journey of starting this podcast to where I am now. At first I wasn't really confident in doing it, and I've learned to be confident by continuing to do these episodes, how I structure the things that I talk about, you know, when I look back at some of my earlier episodes and listen to them to where I am now and how confident I feel that I am with doing podcasting, you know, I'm really proud of my growth. So that's another thing that podcasting has taught me that, you know, being consistent, continuing to practice things will help you to get better at what you're doing. You know, I I've really appreciated this podcasting journey, and I really appreciate that people listening like yourselves, you know, I wouldn't be able to do it with without you listening in. Obviously, the passion and motivation to do it would be there, but obviously having people listen in, you know, that is what it is about as well. So for me, I am really pleased with where I am at with this podcast. I feel that there is lots of room to grow. I want to start getting back guests on this podcast. If you're somebody who's listening in and you have lived an empowered life journey of some sort, maybe you've taken an adventure in your later life or taken a huge career change or whatever it is, please drop me a line at info at umimpowerment.com and we will have a chat and see if you want to be a guest on the podcast. But that's something I'll be concentrating more on as we go into the second half of the year, having guests on again, and you know, getting people to share their stories, women to share their stories, those who are later on in life 40 plus, you know, about some of their courageous and exciting and different things that they've been doing. And if you want to be a part of that, as I said, drop me a line. So I just want to leave you with a Bible scripture, and it's from the book of Job, and it's chapter 8, verse 7. It says your beginning may be small, but later years will be very great, and that is from the International Standard Version of the Bible. Always just focus on the impact you can make where you are. That's the main message I want to share with you in this podcast. And you know, even though your beginnings may be small, your later years will be very great in whatever way that happens. But I hope that you have found this episode encouraging. Let me know your thoughts on any episodes that have stood out to you during you know the course of the five years that Living the Empowered Life podcast has been broadcasted. I would love to hear from you and hear your thoughts on that. So, until the next episode, take care.
