We are living in a time when things feel so hopeless, and the added feeling of 'failing' in our own endeavours can make things feel even worse.

In this episode, I share an entry from my book Exceptional Not Expected Volume 2 called 'Even if you Fail, try again' as a word of encouragement to anyone who is experiencing this.

Roman 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

But before I get into that, I would really like you guys to send in to me quotes, any quotes that you come across to share with the listeners on the podcast. This is something that I was doing a little while ago and then it just kind of fell by the wayside. But I really do think as they live in the Empowered Life community, it would be great if we could share any little quotes that we come across with others to encourage and to inspire and to motivate each other. And I think that's a great thing. You can send your quotes to me at info at umimimpowerment.com or you can drop it in one of the comment sections wherever you find this podcast. You don't have to leave your name if you don't want to, but I will share it with other people on this podcast. I'd love for us to all get involved in this. I mean, we have been, you know, supporting each other for a long time now, nearly six years. So if you have a little quote you want me to share, then do please send it in and I will share it on the podcast. So as I said, today really is just a quick episode. I have come across so many people lately who feel really bad because they've been failing at things that they've really wanted to do. And I must admit there are some things that I've really wanted to do and I've been failing at. And you know that I have had my periods of being discouraged, and you know, I've just been trying to just lean into God's word and just talking to God about it. I've worked extremely hard to get where I am today, and I'm extremely busy, but there's some things I feel like I'm just not doing consistently and failing at doing, you know, especially some of the creative things, and it's so easy when you are failing at things, or you know, you perceive yourself to be failing at things to start to blame yourself, to start to condemn yourself, to start to beat yourself up. And I have come across so many people who are feeling really bad because they feel like they're failing at things. Sometimes, you know, these things happen, you know. As I've said, there's some things I've failed at, and I'm trying to work out a plan to get back on track. Sometimes we fail at things in life. Sometimes perceived failure could just be that, you know, there's other things that you may have been busy with. I mean, there's that in my case in some of the things as well. But whatever it is, you know, failure is not final. And today I just wanted to share with you a reading from my book, my latest book, Exceptional, Not Expected, Volume 2, An Ordinary Woman's Guide to Living an Empowered Life. Well, that's me. I wanted to share with you a reading from this book. If you haven't bought this book, it is available on Amazon, Waterstones, also available from the Yumi Empowerment website and also as well at a few independent bookstores. I will leave a link to both the exceptional or not expected books in the show notes. You are welcome to get them directly from me, a signed copy, or you can get them from Amazon and Waterstones as well. But I want to share this book reading because I think it's really appropriate for this time. A lot of people out here are feeling very bad because they're failing at things. Life is bringing a lot of pressure, lots of different changes, demands, some things making people feel overwhelmed, and because they're overwhelmed in other areas, they've they they are failing in other areas. But the word fail just sounds so negative and final, but in itself, failure is never final. So I want to share this with you, and if you're somebody who's going through this, be encouraged because this is only going to be for a season. As I say it to you, I say it to myself, because you know, with determination, focus, and just praying and giving it to God, you know, we can all get back up and overcome those things that we feel that we're failing in. So this reading is called Even If You Fail, Try Again. I don't think anyone in life gets things right the first time they try to do something. Most of the time, getting things right involves a process of failing, learning, experimenting, and experience to enable us to do it better the next time. Failure is something that people try to avoid. The very thought of it fills people with dread. However, failure is part of the cycle of life. It can happen once, a dozen times, or a hundred times, depending on what each of us is trying to attempt, learn, overcome, or achieve. Jesus recognized that as humans, not only do we fail morally in living up to God's standards, but also in our failure towards others. That is why Peter said, Lord, how many times should I forgive my brother who sins against me and put a limit of seven times? Jesus said seventy times seven. That is from Matthew 18, 21 to 35. Imagine having disgrace towards our own failings. The truth is, it is easy after the first time, let alone the seventh time of failing, to give up and not try again. You may say, How many times do I fail before I get it right? Before I get a breakthrough, or I can't face the shame of trying again, as people have seen me try and fail. Also, frustration, disappointment, and impatience will demand that you dare not try again. But by the grace of God, as you are still here, you have the opportunity to try and fail again. Therefore, you should try. Don't lose hope or give up yet. Here are some tips to help you to succeed. Ask God for help. God's word says He's an ever-present to help in times of trouble. Where we fail in our own strength, we can succeed in his strength, especially if the area of failure involves addiction or ingrained habits. God is gracious and merciful to us and extends grace to us in our failings. You do not need to be perfect or have the right words to talk to God. Ask for help and God will make a way for you. Learn from previous failures. As I mentioned, failures, mistakes, and errors allow us the time to learn and the opportunity to do things differently. If you could do that thing again, what would you do differently next time? What is that area or stage you keep failing at? Once you identify your failing, you can specifically look at resources or support to help you overcome that area of challenge. Adjust your mindset from a defeat stance to a conqueror position. Repeated failure can easily set your mind in a defeated position. Even if you fail and fail again, you must tell yourself you can and will succeed. Keep an eye on your goal and never give up. As the famous quote states, if you first don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. The Bible scripture that accompanies that book entry for exceptional not expected, volume two, says from the book of Romans, chapter 8, verse 28, in the Bible, and we know that all things God works for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. So, guys, I just wanted to share that with you today. You know, sometimes when you are failing at things or you are continuing to fall into the same trap, it can feel very discouraging, very demotivating, and can even feel at times that what is the point? Is there any hope for me in this area? I want to say to you, there is hope. Through your failure, you are learning, and you will get up and you will try again. And there will be a day when you will overcome that thing. You will be a conquering that thing. But just keep on keeping on. I know it's very hard in the times that we're living in now to believe that you know things can positively turn around when people are so negative and the world is so negative and nothing seems to be positive or hopeful. But despite all this, you can and will overcome in your circumstances the things that you believe you're failing at. And when you overcome that, and when you are not failing in that thing anymore, I really hope you will share with us, you know, your testimony of the things that you overcame, the thing that you failed at so many times that you didn't think it was possible to ever conquer. And I just want to just say it as I finish this podcast, please do check out my book, Exceptional Not Expected, Volume 2. You will find a lot of encouragement and motivation in there. And this is the type of book, and I'm not just saying it because I'm the author, this is the type of book that you need in these times where you might be feeling discouraged or demotivated or feeling like you know you haven't got the you know encouragement you need to overcome the things that you're failing at. So that is it for this podcast, guys. As I said, it was a short and sweet one today. A word of encouragement, which I feel is timely because so many people are feeling very hopeless because they feel they're failing at things. I hope that this episode has encouraged you. And if you want to check out my books or any of the other things that I do, please do visit the show notes or this description box below, wherever you're listening to this podcast, and feel free to have a look at the other things that I'm doing. Until the next time, guys, take care.
