Heart Open ConversAsians
A thoughtfully curated space where intentional and honest conversations are had and held for and with a community I hold near and dear to my heart: the Asian collective. Every month, you’ll hear a guest join me in conversation, followed by a solo episode in the same month where I share and weave in my reflections and learnings from that conversation.
Together, we’ll exchange stories of our uniquely hard yet beautiful lives, our journeys, learned experiences and lessons, with the hope that it will encourage and empower you to live out your one precious yet nuanced life that is most true and most YOU. I’m that friend you can count on as we walk together on this journey to learn to embrace and make space for all parts of us. You’re welcome here.

Erica Yanney: On Finding Her Calling and Gaining Confidence and Momentum To Secure Jobs in Foreign Countries
Hello, treasured community! It’s a bright, crispy and beautiful Friday here in Houston and I’m back here to bring you a fresh, new episode on the podcast! I have the pleasure of hosting and sharing the audio space with Erica Yanney (again!) on the #heartopenconversasians podcast today.
Erica is the founder and CEO of Altitude Career Coaching where she helps Global Professionals and Immigrants with Career Planning, Career Transition, Job Searching, Professional Development, and Executive Coaching. She is also the Director of Training and Faculty Member at Paradigm21 Executive Leadership Coaching Academy, where she trains coaches and leaders who want to develop their transformational leadership skills and pursue an ICF certification. Purpose-driven, strategic, and dynamic, Erica Yanney is a Certified Professional Life and Career Coach by the ICF, helping professionals to envision and construct their desired futures. Possessing an entrepreneurial mindset and excellent motivational skills, she empowers professionals to elevate performance, satisfaction, balance, and well-being in their careers and lives. She is originally from Brazil and has called US home for the past 18 years. A child of God and mum to 2 beautiful children, she enjoys playing piano, yoga, Drums Alive and watching movies during her free time and is active at her church supporting the music ministry.
I was convinced that I have to ask Erica to come on the HOC podcast after we connected and recorded my conversation with her on her podcast despite her being non-Asian, and boy, was I glad and SO elated that we did. Erica speaks with such grace, passion and confidence as we talked about why and how career coaching became her calling. She also shared generously with us how hiring processes are changing and tangible steps on how to find purpose and alignment in your life and career. I would say this is a must-listen for all if it’s up to me but you definitely don’t want to miss it if you’re at a point of career transitioning to another corporation or as an entrepreneur, or job-searching in new countries and cities.
