Toxic Positivity: Breaking Free from Spiritual Bypassing and Emotional Avoidance
Toxic positivity is a hot topic right now because the growing awareness of its presence in the health and wellness industry. It’s used as a way to spoof life coaching in the media and I’ve even had someone at a networking event assume I’d agree that a positive attitude would cure illnesses such as Covid. (That’s a no BTW – less stress helps but it’s not a cure). Based on personal and professional experiences, I’ve come to believe that it is one of the biggest blocks to personal and societal progress.
In this episode of Unlimited, I’m diving into when positivity is toxic and what you can do about it.
Some of what I’ll cover in this episode include:
- What is toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing
 - What causes toxic positivity
 - What toxic positivity sounds like
 - The importance of emotional intelligence and self-love
 - What is healthy positivity
