The mind and emotions can never truly be at peace. So if you remain only on the level of the body and senses you will never find balance.  Then you can stop trying to do that which is not possible. Like you cannot go in the water with your clothes on up to your head and not get your clothes wet. In the same way, you can not remain only a human being and be in balance. The very nature of the human being is up and down and it only briefly can come to balance or mental and emotional peace.

Therefore, peace and emotional balance does not fully exist for human beings. Then what is the solution?  The answer is that you have to know your divine nature that is free from the confines of a human being. In meditation, we come to know the true Self that is forever free from the confines of human nature and is always at peace and in balance. Therefore, what is necessary is practicing the shift of your attention to the Knower of your mind and emotions as the Knower is eternally free and balanced.
