Dr. Grace Ambrose-Zaken is president and CEO of Safe Toddles. She is an orientation and mobility (O&M) specialist who invented the pediatric belt cane, the new standard white cane for blind toddlers. Grace, retired professor at Hunter College of The City University of New York, conducted research, prepared graduate students in the field of O&M, and her publication defined the term, mobility visual impairment. A toddler who is blind or mobility visually impaired requires a mobility tool to walk independently with safety. She has published 27 peer-reviewed articles, three textbook chapters, and has conducted groundbreaking research on her pediatric belt cane.
