I certainly didn't.
It was only when I stopped eating sugar in my mid-40s, and experienced the amazing benefits of being sugar-free, that I started reading up on what insulin does.
And after that, I read about how insulin resistance affects your body and your health.
In fact, insulin resistance is linked to a whole host of health issues, from obesity and diabetes to high blood pressure, dementia, arthritis, inflammation and heart disease.
