Hi, everybody. This is Randall Wallace, your host for the Randall Wallace Presents Podcast. And this is a housekeeping show because the passing of Lindsey Graham has turned our schedule upside down. And so we wanted to kind of come up here and talk with you just briefly about all three of our shows, because this has affected all of our podcast. First off, the Nixon Maxing uh episode that we were going to do about Vice President J.D. Vance and the Richard Dixon Foundation is going to have to be moved to August. This week will be uh Lindsey Graham week. We're going to look back at the week that was and the career and life that was Lindsey Graham's. Senator Graham, of course, died a week ago Saturday. Um and uh that has turned everything upside down in the state of South Carolina and for us at this podcast. Uh we now have a Senate race that's gonna be abbreviated uh to fill the Republican nomination that Lindsey Graham had just won in June. Uh that we're gonna try to cover as best we can. It's that this is gonna be a big race in South Carolina, and it's gonna be thrown together for over about a month period of time. We're gonna try to cover it, but uh we're but we also have now what's really a six-part series, but a five-part documentary series that began already today, uh, because we were still putting things together uh today uh to do this series, uh, but it will cover this historic week in South Carolina, where Senator Graham unexpectedly and shockingly passed away. Uh and we will go back through a lot of what was aired that we saved over that week, plus looking back at Lisney Graham's career and and big moments and highlights from his career because he really I don't think there's any question that he is the South Carolinian so far of the century in the 21st century, and is clearly one of I think the two most consequential United States senators we've seen in the 21st century, along with Mitch McConnell. So um uh we tried to grab and encapsulate some of that and let you relive some of these moments of our fellow South Carolinian who has been such a giant figure uh over the last 25 to 32 years in this state and in the politics here. We um we also have uh the two appearances that I made this week uh um in front of the Myrtle Beach City Council and the Orie County Council, and the reason I bring those up is because if you are a local resident uh listening to our show in South Carolina, if you let your Orie County Council and your Myrtle Beach City Council and uh the other councils in in the Orie County know that you'd like to see something uh of significance named after Lindsey Graham, please let them know because he deserves it. He was a friend to Orie County and a friend to Myrtle Beach on a level that um we had not seen before. And uh and I think he deserves. Frankly, I think he deserves the Myrtle Beach Airport terminal, the Myrtle Beach International Airport Terminal, because he got the money that got that that done, and and uh it wouldn't be there without him. And and I really think we've we've not seen a friend of of that stature uh in this area in a long time. Um so we're gonna have all week parts one through five. Part one ran already today. We also had a special that I put together the night that he died, because he died at about earlier in the evening, but it made the news around four o'clock in the morning, and I, you know, I couldn't sleep and I was up. So we put together a show uh that's in our back catalog. It's really the first, and it really has a lot of big moments of just his life and career. Then what we aired today really covers the shocking day that he passed last week. And the rest of this series will encapsulate everything that went on during this very historic week, along with highlights and big moments from Lindsey Graham's life. So this is a chance for us as South Carolinians uh to maybe cope a little bit with the sadness of what we've dealt with this week, but also a reference for this truly, truly historic figure in the state of South Carolina and in the nation, Senator Lindsey Graham. Uh and of course, this uh we had planned Grand Strand Politics season four was gonna begin after Labor Day. Uh it looks like we're gonna be moving pretty quickly into August to cover the uh South Carolina uh United States Senate Republican primary election that's gonna be all month. And then you'll roll into the regular election. And right now, we don't know who's gonna be running. There's talk about Ralph Norman, who was already announced. It looks like Senator Nordone, who is Lindsey Graham's sister, Darlene Graham Nordone, may be running. Russell Fry, our congressman in South in uh in the 7th district here, may be running. We don't know how that's gonna shake out. That's probably gonna happen this week. Uh so Grand Stram politics will be on the air in August to cover that. Uh and and then as far as Bob Dole, uh Clinton's Comeback 1995, uh, that's gonna proceed. We're we're gonna take it off the air the rest of this week so that you can you can listen and enjoy the uh this tribute to Lindsey Graham. Uh we do have one day on the 22nd that is a special program we'd already put together to celebrate Bob Dole's 103rd birthday. But then the episodes will begin next week. Uh we we we're out of time, so I'm not gonna be able to put anything on concerning Lindsey Graham's funeral, uh, which will be on the 28th and 29th, but we will be gonna we're gonna cover that. It'll just end up being in August before we can get uh our our coverage on the air just because of time constraints. So anyway, a lot of housekeeping notes here. This has certainly changed everything we had planned for July and August as far as what the podcasts were and we're not going to do. Uh, but we are on the air covering uh, you know, these these uh live events for Grand Strand politics and of course South Carolina politics and and this giant figure who's been such a big part of my entire career. You know, I've been tied to Lindsey Graham for 32 years since his first congressional campaign. Um, and we really want to show him the deference he deserves. He's been a giant figure. If you're not from South Carolina, you don't realize that. Um so we want to show him the respect and and have his story told here. Um, but it is it has really changed the configuration. So, in a nutshell, Lindsey Graham week this week, five episodes looking back at his life and career. Bob Dole, 1995 Clinton's Comeback, will be back next week to run uh the remaining shows, and then the you'll get a preview in one of the episodes before the end of the month on Bob Packwood that's a part of that season. Richard Nixon Maxing, that was gonna be on the Richard Nixon Experience, will be there in August. And we will be back to cover uh the these two historic days in August. They're gonna be there'll be July 28th and 29th. Uh the funeral and and the story of Lindsey Graham uh as it continues into next week. That'll go into August. With that, thank you so much, and uh thank you for tuning in. And until next time, I'm Randall Wallace so long for now.
