Women & Leadership Is What Called Me to Write Book #3: Seeking

When nudged by the Universe to write this book, my initial response was I’m not ready. That was followed with I still have more to learn. Yet after each women’s event where I was invited to present, I would share some of these insights and exercises, and the noticeable interest was reassuring, validating that women were ready to talk more about their self-doubts and fears. They were ready to be more vulnerable and more vocal about what they needed and what they desired. I saw this engagement as permission to share my journey, even if it expanded beyond career books, skill assessments, and emotional intelligence tests.
The conversations and experiences in these pages go beyond the professional and corporate strategies I have previously shared with my readers and communities. So, if you are familiar with my work, you may initially be surprised, yet I have found that I needed to go beyond the traditional methods of leadership for women to understand my internal barriers and gain new levels of insight.

Why I Was Called to Write Book #3: Seeking
[00:00:00] It's hard to believe I'm in season three. When I started this, it really was an inspiration for my daughter, that started a podcast during Covid. She is such a bright light and is always interested in stories, lessons, and people across the planet. So a big call out to my daughter for really kickstarting me in the podcasting arena.
[00:00:19] But with season three, this one's a little bit different. Seasons one and two, I've taken the details. My first book, The Working Woman's GPS, and my second book, Accelerate Your Impact, And I boil down some of the nuggets that I have captured in both of those books from the women that I follow, the women that I've interviewed in the research I've gotten my hands on over the last decade.
[00:00:42] Both of those books are so instrumental based on where you are in your career. The first book, The Working Woman's GPS, is really focused on professional women that have young children and are trying to keep all their arrows going in the right direction, which is very difficult because we have so many things that are pulling for a time and attention, and oftentimes we lose ourselves.
[00:01:03] Through each decision, each yes, and each opportunity to move forward, whether it's at work or at home. So if you know a professional woman that's struggling to have it all and really needs a new way of looking at not only their life, but how they go about their work each day, the working woman's GPS is an awesome gift and book for them.
[00:01:24] And I should note that I wrote it because I was drowning in my to-do. With very little joy and really trying to figure out how do I keep everything going in the right direction and it really is the basis of why I started Tech Savvy Women and all of the wisdom, I gathered from the women that crossed my path back at that time in my life when I was trying to really get above water.
[00:01:47] So hopefully, if you have women like this that are trying to figure it out, the Working Women's GPS is an awesome book for them. My second book, Accelerate Your Impact Action-Based Strategies to Pave Your Professional Path, was a book that I really wasn't planning to write, but when I took my first book out on the road and met with many women's groups and professional initiatives, I realized that women were trying to figure out how to get promoted, how to find a sponsor.
[00:02:11] Should they join a board? Do lateral moves make sense for your career? How do you effectively network? How do you align your projects for your next level of impact at work? And I collected all of these questions over three years, and then I read 2000. Documents, which consisted of research inside other books and really collaborated with many different professional women to really understand what is holding us back.
[00:02:38] What is keeping us in middle management? Is it that we don't desire to go up or do we not desire to sit in certain seats? And I was shocked to find all the research that I really didn't understand when I had been in the tech company for over 20 years and I did not add. To the second book that I already knew after working for 20 years in corporate America.
[00:03:02] So each page, each chapter is filled with wisdom for professional women that are interested in working on their careers. Because one of the biggest insights I gained from writing my second book, Accelerate Your Impact, is that I had to not only work in my career and deliver amazing results, but I also had to work on my career.
[00:03:24] I think for many women, We think our good work is going to get us there. And for many, that happens. But for a lot more women, we have to strategically position ourselves. We have to line to the right work, we have to have career catalysts, and we have to be clear and not only what we've accomplished, but what we want to impact next.
[00:03:44] So if you know a professional woman that really wants to take their career and impact to the next level, my second book, Accelerate Your Impact, is filled with key strategies to make this happen. And there are so many testimonials and endorsements not only on Amazon but also on my website, that this is a tool that women turn to really accelerate where they desire to have impact next.
[00:04:09] So be sure to check. Now my third book, Seeking, which I really wasn't planning to write, I really thought two books I'm done. But since 2016, I have been on a journey, A Journey defined by more self-awareness, more enjoyment, and more alignment. I have visited over 80 energy practitioners. . I've attended multiple retreats, and excursions, online and in person to really dig through my stories and to figure out what I am supposed to be doing here on Earth.
[00:04:49] I thought with all my accolades to date, both in my professional career and in my own business. All the book awards, all the accolades that I've really generated over the last 25 years, that I would be good, that I would say, Okay, I've checked the box. That's good. I'm good where I'm at. But that didn't happen.
[00:05:08] I found myself feeling empty, disconnected, and yearning for something more. And some days, I really just lost my momentum and sometimes, days turned into weeks. And so I was really looking for a way to step more into myself and into my life's work. But I had no idea what that was. So back in 2016, I had a lot of crappy things all happen at once, and I really now believe that that was a catalyst for me.
[00:05:39] to pick me and to turn towards things that could give me more internal insight. And so my third book Seeking are key findings that I uncovered as I worked year to year, week to week, month to month to really get to the core of who I was and why I am here and the work I'm supposed to be doing. . So the subtitled of the book is 74 key findings to raise your energy, sidestep yourself, doubt, and align with your life's work.
[00:06:10] The book is broken into four parts. Part one is stepping into your whispers, really paying attention to how you perceive success. What adjustments do you need to make? Are there any internal nudges or whispers you're receiving? Do you need to plan some time to dive deep? and how do you go about doing this?
[00:06:33] Part two is redefining your self-worth. This is a big section for me because I had so much doubt about my capabilities, how I viewed money, how I view abundance, and even how I made decisions. And I think section two, redefining your self-worth is really key strategies for you to uncover your internal chatter and how that is driving many of your decisions.
[00:06:58] Part three, Uncovering your life's lessons. In this section, I include why I visited a therapist, what issues I was trying to overcome, what my relationship was with my loved ones, including my mother and my spouse, my children, how those relationships mirrored the energy that I was giving out. while uncovering some of the threads from my childhood experiences that really brought me to the decisions I was making as a grown woman.
[00:07:27] I then take all of that into part four, getting present with mindfulness. and that really dives into the lurking energies that really infuse our self-worth. I then jump into the fears that fuel our self-doubt, how confidence walks out the back door and how mindfulness can really help you dive into where you are, the gifts that are available to you and allow you to really embrace your life right now.
[00:07:58] And then I round out. The book Seeking, in part five of really shifting your frequency, where I talk about lasting your energy, finding your fuel stations, and understanding the difference between your stories, your boundaries, and your seasons. And then one of my favorite chapters is Breaking Away for Perfectionism so that you can let your work unfold and light up your path for where.
[00:08:26] You desire to have impact next in the appendix, you will find a list of all the light workers, URLs, and websites I've used over the last seven years to make this book possible. And then you'll also find several visualization and mindfulness practices in even a gratitude exercise. With all of this, I have then created a community called Together We Seek, where I've invited many of the practitioners that I've worked with throughout the years to really help me dig deep and align with self-worth and really find the work and the momentum and the inner peace that I was searching.
[00:09:06] with this third book Seeking, I really feel that I've rounded out the spectrum of what working is for women from when you first start to when you say yeses to all the things you desire to do outside of work and how that impacts yourself inside of work and then moving into where you want to have impact and the steps to make it.
[00:09:26] And then this book really, really focuses on working from the inside out, which was absolutely necessary for me after 30 years of working. And I still wasn't embracing the joy or finding the laughter, or really connecting with my truest self, filled with gifts that were untapped and wisdom that I'm using.
[00:09:49] So I'm really looking forward to being on this journey with you regardless of where you tap in. And if you want to join me inside the community TogetherWeSeek.Online. Please do as we have many live events and discussions for women just like you that are seeking for more than you align with today. So with that, I'm looking forward to starting season three in this podcast, which is a lot more about the women that have crossed my Path books that I think can be incredibly helpful to you in your career pursuit and insight that, once again, has created such.
[00:10:25] Awakening wisdom and impact for me. So I look forward to starting season three with all of you, and of course, you can reach out to me on any of my platforms under JJ DiGeronimo. I look forward to connecting in person online, and maybe at a future event, I'll see you there. Thank you for being on this journey with me.
