Show Notes

On this episode of What Makes You Click, Kelvin welcomes Macey J. Foronda, an editorial and commercial photographer based in New York and Los Angeles. Listen in as she talks about what it was like to be raised in the Midwest by an artistic family of traveling musical theater actors, as well as her experience moving to Brooklyn to pursue photography as a young adult. Macey sheds light on the power of knowing what you want to pursue in life, taking risks, being playful, and asking for what you really want, like a job title change.

You’ll gain insight into the photography portfolio Macey submitted to Pratt Institute, how body image has inspired her artwork, and the photographers and styles that have impacted her photography over the years. She also talks about how she decided curation wasn’t her ideal career, what she learned from interning at Rolling Stone Magazine and working at Buzzfeed, and the project she’s currently working on through Art of Freelance.

Plus, she shares her candid thoughts on what the deal with the citrus is (if you know, you know)!
