Host

Berly

Berly is the creator, producer, host, and editor of The Tipsy Exchange. She handles everything from research to recording to marketing. A lifelong Marvel fan, she has been hooked since the '90s X-Men animated series (and her crush on Gambit). She'll happily go deep on Doctor Strange, Sherlock, Doctor Who, and anything with a vampire in it. She's the kind of researcher who cuts her notes from eight pages down to four and still has too much to say, and she mispronounces every tricky name with total confidence. She has never met a sidebar she didn't take. By day, she works in sales; by night, she's usually editing a podcast.

Co-host

LA

LA is the co-creator, co-producer, and co-host of The Tipsy Exchange as well as the show's resident true crime expert. She's the one who finds the lesser-known cases for our quarterly true crime episodes. She went to school for film and spends every awards season watching the Best Picture nominees, so expect strong opinions about movies, especially fantasy favorites like Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, and Interview with the Vampire. She's also a self-proclaimed skincare junkie, a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, and a Thor loyalist. She's usually the one asking the questions everyone else is thinking.

Amnah Shaabneh

Amnah Shaabneh is a licensed esthetician and partner at Revata Medspa & Laser Center in Addison, Texas, with more than 15 years in the industry. She spent her early career in hospitality and hotel management. Then, at 24, she decided to give esthetics a try, enrolled at Heritage College in Denver, and was nominated for student of the year. She later launched her own waxing business before a med spa recruited her. She even did a stint as a corporate flight attendant for sports teams, which convinced her that esthetics was her true passion. Her specialty is corrective skincare over fluffy facials, and she'll keep you laughing the whole time. Her advice to new estheticians: stay humble, work for someone else first, and find a mentor.

Comic Book Keepers

Comic Book Keepers is a podcast where hosts Chris and Lance tackle the world of comics one character at a time. Launched during the 2020 quarantine, each episode takes a deep dive into a single hero, villain, or team. They cover the character's creation, powers, and media adaptations, and they share reading recommendations for anyone who wants to pick up the comics themselves. Outside the show, Chris is an artist who creates free D&D character art as Dungeon Heads, and Lance plays D&D with his improv friends on Knights of the Roll Table. Together, they're the rare comic experts who make newcomers feel welcome, not gatekept. Follow the show at @cbkcast, Chris at @dungeonheads, and Lance at @roguesymbiote.

James Defrange

James DeFrange is the owner of Pura Vida Salon in Uptown Dallas, which he opened in 2006, and he has been a hairdresser for more than two decades. His career started almost by accident: at 16, he was the first boy ever to take cosmetology at his small-town high school. He tried to drop the class after six weeks, and a very unhelpful football coach wouldn't let him. After moving to Dallas, a mentor opened doors for him, which led to education work with professional product companies. Today, he pays it forward through his salon's apprenticeship program. His advice for anyone in any industry: find a mentor.
