REGAN :Hello and welcome to this episode. You'll notice the sound quality isn't great, because I got the spark of desire to speak to this conversation on my drive to pick up my baby girl from Bushkindi. But what it lacks in sound quality it makes up for with absolute ethical selling gold. Having your client sign with you now and not later is a skill you can absolutely learn and master. Just like selling in general, it's a skill, and the better you get at selling, the more sales you make. REGAN :Now let's proceed with pleasure. All right, my loves, you're going to want to tune into this conversation if you are desiring your ideal clients to buy from you now and not later, and in particularly if you have a ongoing offer where you don't have a launch period, where doors open and close, and that creates a timeframe for people to buy. So if you are offering ongoing one-on-one coaching and mentoring, for example, then chances are you know there won't be a time period that people need to buy by and you might be questioning, like my client did recently, how do I get my clients to my potential clients to buy now. How do I get them to sign up now and not later? How do I create this? What do I need to do to get them to move? And what she was asking was is how do I create a sense of urgency?
REGAN :Now, chances are you have come across probably many ways of how other people have created a sense of urgency. Perhaps you have felt that sense of urgency through what they've shared with you and chances are, you've probably been taught how to create a sense of urgency. Many of those ways are quite unethical. Some of them are ethical, but in my world, what I prefer to do, and something that is so much more pleasurable than creating urgency, you know, getting our clients to move through urgency is getting them to move through desire. Right, I want my ideal clients to sign up with me because they don't want to wait another day to create the results I can help them create. I want them to want it so bad that they want to sign up today, rather than I want to make them move because they are afraid of missing out. I want to be working with clients who signed up with me because they desired to, not because they were acting out of FOMO. Yeah, so look, there are ethical ways that we can create a sense of urgency, obviously, if there is a timeframe.
REGAN :A sense of urgency, obviously if there is a time frame. You know if you're only accepting a certain number of clients and you know you're getting short on those available spaces. I only have limited spaces for my coaching, one-on-one spots. There have been times when I'm like, hey guys, I've got two spots left until you know, another six months away. If you want to work with me, you want to get in now. And so you will know. Or maybe you don't know, let me inform you. One is going to be easier to do than the other, but one will be a lot more unpleasant than the other. It is really easy and I'm going to say lazy in the kindest way to simply just like tack on the end of a post or a piece of content. You know only one spot left. Or you know, sign up now by this date or the spot is disappearing Again. That could be ethical in the sense that could be truthful. It's still operating out of FOMO. So that is super simple. And yeah, like I said, I said what I said, a bit lazy, what feels more enjoyable especially when you become more practiced at it, especially when you become more practiced at it but takes a little bit more work is actually creating the clear image of what results you can help your clients create, for your clients to see those results and desire them.
REGAN :Your ideal clients want to create the results that you can help them create. They are actively right now, actively looking for someone to help them with that. They are searching Google, they are listening to podcasts, they are looking up articles, they are scrolling socials. They want to find answers. They're in solutions mode. They are ready to create those results now, and when they find you and you have drawn a really clear picture of what it is you can help them with and it's exactly what they want, that will activate their desire. They will be like, oh my God, I love her, I love the result she can create. By the way, they will love you for you being you right. Your people, your ideal clients, love you right. So be more you. That's a side note. That's a whole nother podcast, a whole nother bunch of podcasts in itself, right. So when you are you and you are clearly illustrating the results you help your clients create, that creates that generates a strong sense of desire.
REGAN :Desire is what makes us move, right, think about when you want something, you want to go after it. You're not so keen to go after the stuff that you don't want. Right, I'm now imagining, like, some yummy carrot cake in front of you versus like I don't know. My mind is cast back to Amalfi Coast, where a random man bought me and my two girlfriends this specialty, this specialty dessert, which was a like a baked eggplant with, like this disgusting chocolate sauce drizzled over it. It was, it looked scary and the man was creepy. It just did not pass the vibe. Check. Anyway. Right, like I did not feel called to move, I did not feel called to really tuck into that zucchini chocolate special dessert. Right, the carrot cake delivered by my husband, with delicious looking frosting. Yes, please, now you'll notice the jingling of the keys in the background. I'm on my way down to get baby girl from Bush School and there's lots of bumps along the way, right? So desire makes us move. Yes, fomo also.
REGAN :But how do you want your clients to be signing up with you? Through FOMO or through desire? It's desire, it's desire, it's desire, it's desire, it's desire, it's desire, it's desire, right. So we want to help activate their desire, and the way you do that is by being yourself and by clearly demonstrating the results you can help them create. Yeah, so this is what I want you to remember next time.
REGAN :Next time you are thinking like, oh, like, how do I tap into? And it won't feel good. It won't feel good in your body. This is what I mean. It does not feel enjoyable, it will not feel good to be like, oh, how can I? It almost feels like how can I trick them into like buying this now? How can I manipulate them? That's what it is. There we go. How can I manipulate them to do what I want? Now, right, we're not, we don't play those games in my, in my world, right, we don't take that kind of action.
REGAN :We want to help them activate their desire for the results they want to create in their life. So that's what I want you to remember how can I help them tap into their desire for the results I can help them create?
