However, you're choosing to listen to this podcast. Ask yourself, how can I make this more pleasurable and do just that? I acknowledge the custodians of the land on which this podcast is recorded and produced, the Wadi Wadi people of Doland. Now let's proceed with pleasure.
Regan: Hello and welcome back to the podcast. All right, I wanna make this one pretty punchy, so I'm gonna save any kind of like interesting stories about my life that I sometimes [00:01:00] share at the start of the episodes that you might not find interesting whatsoever. but I'm just gonna dive straight in because I really wanna talk about like, how do we actually become unstoppable?
When things aren't working or when we perceive things as not working. Yeah. This is something that I see really slows people down and really creates so much resistance and so much speed, humps on the way to your vision, on the way to your financial milestones, on the way to achieving, having, creating, being whatever it is that you want in your business.
How do we become unstoppable and how do we move through the periods where it feels as though things aren't working? I've had a recent experience of this, uh, this year, and so it was a great reminder for me. And then I've also just had a conversation with a client about this for her as well, and she was sharing that like, you know, at the start of the month, [00:02:00] because technically she's starting at zero for her sales.
At the start of the month, she starts at zero. And so she can find herself getting a little bit like stuck in the mind drama of like, it's not working. Like I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not good at what I do. And then as things pick up towards the end of the month, which is the typical pattern for her industry, she's like, oh, that's right.
Yes, I do know what I'm doing. It is working, et cetera. And then the month ticks over again and she feels like she's back at the start again. Yeah, maybe something similar is a pattern for you, or maybe it's simply just like you are not, or you haven't reached the goals or the milestones that you thought you would have by now, or it's that you had X amount of people to fill a program and only 20% of those spots were taken.
You know, it is the period in time. And that felt sense where we see that what we [00:03:00] wanted or what we expected isn't actually here right now. Yeah. It's where we want to go. Okay. It's not working. It hasn't worked. You know, I'm not doing the right things or I'm doing the right things. I'm doing the wrong, basically I'm wrong for some reason and it's not working.
We can spiral. Yeah. Like that kind of a period. That kind of experience. Now, I call that like for the purpose of this podcast, I'm calling that, you know, the failing, right? I'm, I'm doing quotation marks with my fingers. You can't say this, but yeah, it's like considered like you have failed, right? You didn't meet your goals, or you didn't meet your milestones at the certain period of time.
You didn't hit the, the monthly, quota. At a certain period of time, you've decided you failed. And what can happen there is. You end up becoming quite stoppable the opposite of unstoppable, and you start to quit on yourself and your business. Now I'm not just talking about the big quits, like chucking the [00:04:00] towel in going off social media, no longer sending emails, no longer launching anything or just like deciding you're gonna get, go and get a job.
Put your hand up if, um, you've had those experiences. Yes, me too. I'm also talking about. The little quits, like the quits with the baby cues, the quits where you go, Ooh, I'm gonna sell this thing. It's such a great thing to sell. And then you just like quietly stop selling it. 'cause after a certain amount of time, people haven't bought it.
Or you think like, oh my God, this is the best reel I've ever shared. It's a bit edgy, but I'm gonna put it out there. And because you don't get immediately, uh, immediate likes or comments or whatever, you kind of delete it. Or, you know, you launch your offering and because after like 48 hours, this thing that you thought was so amazing hasn't been like that.
You haven't received that external validation or those like sales metrics. So you think like, oh, I might just like quietly push this under the rug. Let's just pretend that this launch never happened. I'll create a whole new offering and start again. [00:05:00] Yeah, these are like the little quits I'm talking about.
It's where we have like this sneaky like plan B or a backdoor. Like if you notice that you are like spending your time and your attention and your energy, like preparing a backdoor. Like, oh, okay, well, you know, I really want my business to succeed, but I'm gonna still spend some time on seek just to see if there are any really great jobs that come up while I'm trying to grow my business.
it might also look like. deciding like, oh, okay, so I'm gonna launch this offering, but before I launch it, if no one buys, I'm actually just gonna do this thing instead. Right? You'll notice that you are quitting on yourself. You're gonna be having those little baby cues because you're giving yourself like a backdoor.
You're giving yourself a plan B, we don't need Plan Bs. We don't need back doors if we are not going to be quitting on ourselves. Yeah. And when it comes to us. Experiencing this of failure, as I said, that can lead to us quitting with baby cues or quitting with [00:06:00] big cues. Yeah. We don't want that because we know the work we do in the world is so needed.
We know that the vision that we have for our business is what's meant for us. We know we are meant to be making way more money with way more pleasure. We know we are meant to be having freedom and spaciousness and connection with our families and our loved ones. We know that we are meant to be making so much money, we don't know what to do with, or maybe just so much money that we can buy a whole new wardrobe or get the kids whatever they want for Christmas or tap our card without feeling stressed if there's enough money in the account, right?
We know that we are meant to have this successful business and that we're meant to feel really good and we are meant to have time, energy, um, for spaciousness, freedom for the people and the things that we love. Right? And so we want to become unstoppable. We wanna ensure that when we have those periods of [00:07:00] failure, we do not slow ourselves down or potentially quit on ourselves because we get up into the mind drama.
Yeah. We wanna ensure that we are unstoppable. Especially when things aren't working. 'cause you know what? Like of course it's so easy to feel on fire and unstoppable and amazing at what you do. And like of course your business is gonna reach the goals you have for it and everything's gonna be succeeding when you are in a period where you are getting that evidence back to you where you are having people signing with you.
Where you are having people, I don't know, share about your work where you are getting invitations to be on podcasts or you know, whatever those external metrics are for you. Yeah. The real flex is being unstoppable when things aren't working or when it seems like things aren't working. That's the real flex.
That's what we want. So my client today was saying, oh yeah, well I do you know, the second half of the. Month. I do feel [00:08:00] really good, and I do feel like I know what I'm doing and et cetera. It's just the start of the month. We're like, yeah, okay, well this is where we need to play in. We need to ensure that we have that solid belief in ourself when it's working and when it's not working.
We become unstoppable by, yes, having that belief in ourselves. But there's something else I'm gonna share with you today, which is knowing how to fail with pleasure. That sounds really sadistic. Right? But it's true. Like if we know how to fail with pleasure, we become unstoppable. The reason why that is, is because we end up having those quits on ourselves and our business because of the discomfort we feel in our body.
Yeah. And because of the mind drama that we have in our head. If we can fail and find some way to still feel good in ourselves. We're gonna naturally be able to have that buoyancy to continue to move, to [00:09:00] continue the momentum, to be able to let go of the mind drama and like the fears and the rejections and the disappointments, and actually just continue to move forward.
Now I just wanna say like, I'm not saying that. You are not allowed to feel any of the fear, the disappointment, or the rejection or any of those feelings that come with like, you know, not reaching your goals when you wanted to, or not hitting those milestones when you had Desi desired. Yeah. First of all, I want you to let yourself have your feelings about those things.
Let yourself feel the disappointment or the rejection or the like, fear or the uncertainty or whatever it is that's coming up for you. The sooner you let yourself feel it and move through it, the sooner you can get to the other side of that. Now for me, sometimes that looks like writing it all out, like writing out all my frustrations and all my fears [00:10:00] and all my disappointments, like writing them all out, like every, not perhaps my entire life's work, um, but just like whatever those ones are for that particular thing, right?
Or you look, you know, different strokes for different folks. Whatever you wanna do. But I would invite you to just get it all out on paper. If you're not a writing kind of girl, maybe you just wanna leave yourself some voice memos on your phone. Let it all come out. Let all those feelings come out. Let yourself.
Feel the feelings. Let yourself have the tears, the tantrums, the like sooky kind of experience we always gave ourself 24 hours after, like I grew up as a dancer, right? And we would always give ourself like 24 hours if we didn't achieve what we wanted. Like if we didn't, you know, get the gold or whatever, we would be allowed that 24 hours to really so, and be grumpy about it.
And then after that 24 hours we've like, we've gotten rid of all those feelings. Let's press on. Let's go to rehearsing the shows for the Nexus, tedford, or the next competition, right? Same in your business. I want you to have your feelings. [00:11:00] Let your feelings be there. Don't push them down. Don't pretend they're not there.
Don't ignore them. You're allowed to be disappointed. You're allowed to feel rejection. it's what we make it mean. That can become the problem. So if you are feeling disappointed because you didn't achieve what you wanted to achieve. You are telling yourself that that means no one's ever gonna sign with you again, that you dunno what you are doing, that you are not good at what you do.
Of course that's gonna make you feel terrible. Yeah. And when you are believing, when you're telling yourself that story and you are believing those things, it makes it so much easier to start, you know, giving yourself those back doors and giving yourself those, you know, having those little quits if you know how to find pleasure for yourself.
In the periods where others might perceive it as failure, you'll become unstoppable. Yeah, you'll find some joy and some gratitude and some, I just wanna say pleasure or some enjoyment in various things, and this is gonna be my invitation for [00:12:00] you. but when you can feel those kind of feelings in those periods of, again, in quotations failure.
You'll be able to maintain your motivation. You'll be able to refocus, you'll be able to keep yourself, as I said, like buoyant, and know that your vision is still available to you. Know that that successful business that you are dreaming of, that you know in your heart is available to you, is still available to you.
So what might that look like?
What might it look like for you to fail with pleasure, you know, to find some joy or fun, or even just some amusement in the messy middle? You know, maybe you have had a launch that has in quotations, flopped, right? What do we do then? I'm gonna share with you a handful of things that I practice and that I invite my clients to practice when we're in this experience where things haven't gone to plan, so that we can remain connected with our vision so that we maintain momentum in our business so that we can ensure [00:13:00] that we don't, go into the mind drama and lead towards those little quits and potentially those big quits.
Now the first thing I do is I get back to basics and get into my body. So that can look like ensuring I'm putting on some music and having a dance in the kitchen in the mornings, it can look like going out into the surf with my hubby to have a surf. It can look like moving my body just stretching or some yoga or Pilates or something.
In the mornings, it can look like self-care, like how am I feeding myself? Am I getting some exercise? Am I getting fresh air? Am I spending time in nature? Like reconnecting with my body. If we have gotten to a point where we feel as though it's not worked and it's flopped and we're failing, chances are we're in our mind.
We're evaluating and we're probably stressed. And when we're stressed, our brain, our, our brain, our beautiful brain is looking for data, looking for threats, looking for problems to solve, looking for what went wrong. And so [00:14:00] when we can be in this eval evaluation stage, if we are looking at it from a place of things have gone wrong, we've failed, et cetera, we're in our brain, we're in our heads, we're not operating below the neck.
So that's why we wanna get below the neck and into our body, get out into nature, do things that feel good for us, fuel our body, move our body, let our energy flow. And don't forget, we also wanna ensure that we're processing those feelings. Like that's kind of number one, right?
Number two is really channeling generosity. So chances are, if something hasn't gone to plan, what will make me feel better is actually being of service, rather than coming from a place of, you know, oh, I wanna make it work for me. How come it didn't work for me? And looking at how can I make this work for me?
How can I actually be of service to somebody else? Also too, if there has been something that you've wanted to run or facilitate and maybe it hasn't worked out, maybe you've got some space ahead of you that you didn't anticipate, [00:15:00] so maybe that means you have some time and energy and attention that you can give to others.
That might look like giving extra love to your clients, your current clients. It might look like giving extra love to your audience and like bringing that home, like giving some love and attention and energy to those that you love at home.
You know? how can I channel more generosity that makes me feel good? when you're generous, you can't not feel good, right? So if you are in that messy middle, like asking, how can I be generous right now?
Number three is anchoring into gratitude and celebration. Now, this might sound a little bit cliche of like, oh, okay. When things don't go to plan, you just have to like kind of toxic positivity over the top of it and like, oh, well what can I actually be grateful for? Don't skip the feelings part. Yeah, like, but do invite yourself to come back.
From a place of retrospect and consider like, well, [00:16:00] what can I be grateful for and what can I celebrate? You know? Because I do not doubt that if you have done something where you have potentially, and, and again in quotations failed, or you're in that messy middle and something hasn't worked out and it feels like it's not working, not, you have then put yourself in a place, in a position, you've done something that's kind of risky.
You've put yourself out there. You know, you've taken a bold move. That deserves celebration and gratitude. That means you've been courageous. You know, that means that I bet there are things that have worked, what have you created or achieved or become? You know, I think about this when I have had launches in the past who that haven't gone to plan.
It's like, okay, cool. What can I celebrate? What can I be grateful for? And usually it's things like creating new connections and relationships with people. deepening into my work and my content, having more eyes on the work that I do, you know, [00:17:00] growing my community, things like that. Like I love people. I love talking to people.
I love having conversations with people. I love having different relationships in my life. So that's a big one for me. So what might it be for you? What can you celebrate and be grateful for? In retrospect of this, you know, perceived fail. All right, number four.
This is one of my favorites. This is like claiming the certainty of your vision. Now there is a whole bunch of different questions that I can ask my clients to help them like get into this. This space where it's like, oh, actually my success is inevitable. My vision is certain. Like what I know I'm here to create is still possible for me.
This is not a setback. I haven't gone back to zero. I haven't like now gotta start again. I am actually, and I'll talk about this in our last point, how we've like kind of continued to grow our success, but I am actually deciding. I'm destined for my vision, even if this one thing hasn't gone to plan or there's multiple things.
Right. So one of [00:18:00] the questions that I do ask myself and I invite my clients to ask is the question of what wonderful things I call it. What wonderful things, what wonderful things are happening in the background that you have no idea about it happening? Yeah. What's happening in the background that's working for you that you don't know about yet?
I think I might have spoken about this on the portal quite a while ago, or it's on a live, it's somewhere out there. I know I've spoken about this before and with my clients, there have been times when I'm like feeling like, oh, not sure it's working, and then someone bumps into me at a cafe and buys me a cupcake and they're like, I love the work that you're doing.
Keep going. I love seeing your posts every day. Okay, amazing. If that person hadn't seen me and given me that cupcake and had that conversation, I wouldn't have known the impact I was having on that person's life. There'd be plenty more of them too. Right. Another time I was, talking with one of my friends, she'd been to a women's circle and she overheard two women talking about my book and talking about the work I was doing and how like, you know, talking good things about it.
If she hadn't [00:19:00] been at that circle, she wouldn't have heard that conversation. I wouldn't have then heard about that conversation. There are things happening for you in the background that you have no idea about. So let's get into that energy. Let's get into that field of limitless possibility. Let's get into that like experience of like, okay, well what wonderful things could be happening in the background that I've got no idea about.
This is where we start to really dip into the magic where we start to really, get ourselves excited and realize that it is quite magic and that we don't have all the control. And yes, while we don't have control for things to go our way, we also kind of don't have control when things will go our way. Am I making any sense? You know, let's not focus on what hasn't happened that we don't have control over.
Why don't we focus on. What might potentially happen that we don't have control over from a good perspective. So this is kind of where you like put together, it's almost like a wishlist of what you would love to be happening right now out in the [00:20:00] ether that you have no idea about. So write it down, write some examples of what you would love to be happening right now.
That's supporting you and your business and your vision and your desires and your dreams and your goals. Like what wonderful things are happening in the background you've got no idea about. Are people talking about how amazing your work is? Are people having conversations with their partners and actually putting together a financial plan so they can invest in working with you?
Are people pinning your posts to their vision boards? Desiring to work with you, collaborate with you, have you on their podcast, whatever it might be. I want you to consider like what are some of the things that are happening in the background that you have no idea happening? That one's really fun to play with.
This is where we get into the expansiveness and we leave behind theros of like, it's not working for me. I'm doing it all wrong. I'm doing the right things, but I'm doing them wrong. Right. Alright. And the last one here is I invite you. When you're in the messy middle, when you feel as though you've failed to [00:21:00] reconnect with some pleasure again, to reignite that motivation, that momentum, and have you staying on the path to claiming what it is you're here to create and experience and have and become.
I want you to zoom the fuck out and know that your successes are stacking right. You're trending upwards. Yes, this is probably a little blip. Maybe it's gone down on the graph, but overall you are trending up. My husband and I, he's got some like, crypto. Right. And it's it's just so interesting to see graphs around, like whether it's crypto or or shares.
It's so interesting 'cause you can look at it on the day, it might look like it's dropped. You can look at it on the week. It might look like it's dropped, but then you zoom out over time and you're like, oh my God, that has blown up. You know, and so we get to do this in our business as well. I want you to zoom out.
know that your successes are stacking. That means you haven't gotten, perhaps the milestone or the goal or whatever it is that you wanted to achieve right now. However, the work that [00:22:00] you've done up until now. Is snowballing your success? It hasn't stopped. It hasn't wiped the slate clean.
You haven't gone backwards. Your successes are stacking. So maybe that's mean. You've had a launch and it seems to have flopped or have failed in quotations. But I want you to know that, like I talked about before, like what can we celebrate? You know, what can we be grateful for? I do not doubt that there are more people who are aware of your work.
You've probably made some more closer connections and built some relationships with people. You've gotten deeper into your work. You've, you've built some confidence. You've built the capacity, the energetic capacity to move through an entire launch, even when it doesn't go the way you planned. And now you are moving through the experience of perhaps disappointment and rejection of things, not going well, of failing.
And if you can do it with pleasure. That is the biggest kind of quantum leap you can create in your business. If you can fail with pleasure, you are absolutely unstoppable. So know that. [00:23:00] Know that there's going to be failures in quotations. There's going to be messy middle bits. There's gonna be times when things don't work out as we desired or expected, and that's okay if you can navigate the experience.
With some pleasure threaded through it. You are absolutely unstoppable. That is part of the reason why you do not have to be afraid of failure because you are now unstoppable. Alright, I'm gonna wrap it up there. listen. I want you to fill in a coaching application form to come and work with me.
I want you to feel absolutely unstoppable in your business when it's working and also at the times when it might not be. ' cause there will be those times. Let me support you. Let me coach you. Let me completely shift your whole mindset around how inevitable your success is. Let's play. I'll pop the link in the comments, fill in the application form.
We can have a free consult to talk about what it might look like to work together. It is my gift to you, whether it is a yes or a no to work with me at [00:24:00] the end of that call. It is something that I love to do. I love hearing about you and your business and connecting with people in my community and deepening those relationships and having those conversations.
So I'll leave that there with you. So there's five things for you to play with. The next time things aren't working for you. You don't have to do all five. Maybe you just wanna pick out one, have a play, feel good, and become unstoppable. Bye.
