The personal development podcast that has the potential to transform your life! I'm Sarah Fletcher founder of the award winning Unlocking possibilities training and coaching academy, specialising in NLP training and transformational personal development programmes.
My journey of personal growth began back in 2001 when my mental health was at an all time low. Anxiety and depression hit hard after the birth of my first child in 2000 and I was overwhelmed with feelings of low self worth, insecurity, fear and crippling negative self talk. As a Psychology graduate and newly qualified teacher teaching Psychology, I was determined to find a solution to help myself feel better.
Luckily a colleague introduced me to NLP (neuro Linguistic Programming), the practical application of Psychology that my degree had missed! My mental health and wellbeing transformed as did how I approached all areas of my life. Since then I have made it my mission to share these tools and techniques and my podcast is part of this mission.
This is for you if you want to know HOW to apply simple Psychological principles to feel uplifted, achieve your goals, have better relationships, break free from stuck thinking and behaviour habits, have good mental health and wellbeing and know how to consciously direct your life towards happiness, success and fulfilment.

080 How to use NLP to improve mental wellbeing
We all have mental wellbeing. Imagine the possibilities for your life if you knew how to harness your inner resources to support positive mental wellbeing.
Would you like to feel less stressed, less anxious, less overwhelmed and more confident, calm and in control of your life?
In this episode I asked our Unlocking Possibilities students what their favourite NLP techniques are to support their mental wellbeing.
1. Anchoring is a technique that you can use to harness a powerful resourceful state such as confidence, calm or motivation. We all have off days where we struggle to get motivated, be productive or feel good. NLP states that 'we all have the resources we need or we can create them. Anchoring is a powerful tool for change.
2. Reframing is a way of thinking about things form a different perspective so that you have more choice in how you think, feel and respond to a situation. It's like looking through the world with a different lense and seeing things in a different way, to help you solve problems, navigate challenges, and change the way you behave.
3. Managing your state - Sometimes you might find yourself stuck in anxiety, worry, fear, overwhelm or sadness. NLP shows you how to change your state so you can think, feel and behave in the way that you want to. You get good at what you practice. Practice calm and you will be more calm. Practice worry and you will be a worrier!
