Ungodly Men

Greetings in the name of Jesus! This is Rob Haymes. This is 15 Minutes with Jesus. Today we are going to talk about Ungodly Men. Let’s turn to the Book of Jude, verses 1-25,  Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 15;1-4, Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that Word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures… Getting back to Jude, verse 4, For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke you! But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Verse 11, Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. The way of Cain is the way of hatred. Cain hated his brother. He was envious of him, and he killed him. We have wicked men, ungodly men, in the Church, that walk in the way of Cain. They hate their brother! They would just as soon as he was dead. And they do things in hatred against their brother or their sister. We also have men that walk after the error of Balaam, men and women, for reward. They speak evil lies for money. They speak what the people want to hear. They don’t care about the people. They act like they love you; they act like they care so much for you, but they don’t care about you. They want your money. They are greedy. That’s the way Balaam was. He did not care about the Children of Israel. He taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before them: to cause them to commit fornication and to worship idols. These wicked men do the same thing. They are in the Church. Then we have those that are of the gainsaying of Korah. They are rebellious; they are disputing; they are disobedient; they strive; they strive with the priest of God, the one whom God has truly sent. Jesus said, He who despises whomsoever I send despises Me, and he who despises Me despises Him who sent Me. He also said, Now have they hated both Me and My Father. We have these wicked men. They hate the real men of God; they slander them; they fight against them, and they hate God, but they act like they love Him. They speak great swelling words.

Let’s turn to Rev 2:12-14, Jesus was speaking to the seven Churches in Asia, and He said,  And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. In verses 20-23, speaking to the Church in Thyatira,  Jesus said,  Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols; the same thing, and this goes on in the Church of Jesus Christ today, and Jesus here is speaking to the Church, And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. And Jesus Christ said,  I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Speaking to the Church in Sardis, in verses 5&6 of chapter 3, Jesus said, He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

2 Peter 2:12-22, But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lasciviousness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; this is the truth folks! These ungodly men promise you liberty, but they themselves are the slaves of corruption. For by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. Do you see this? These are people who escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of Jesus! They were saved, and then they were entangled again in ungodliness, and the latter end is worse than the beginning.  For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to his own vomit. and, a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire. You see, these people were of God; they were saved, but they turned away. They went back to their vomit, and, guess what, their names are blotted out of the Book of Life. Again, going back to the Church in Sardis: How did his name get into the Book of Life? He was born again; he was made alive in Christ, but he defiled his garments and did not repent, so his name was blotted out of the Book of Life. Don’t believe the lies: that your name will not be blotted out, no matter how you live your life. If you don’t continue with Jesus, loving Him and keeping His Words, walking in humility and repentance; if you continue in sin and won’t repent, your name will be blotted out of the Book. And whoever is not found written in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire, to be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Don’t be deceived by these ungodly men and their lies any more! As Jesus said in Revelation, Those that I love I rebuke and chasten. Be zealous therefore and repent! He came to those seven Churches in Revelation to commend them and chastise them, even as a loving father corrects his children that he loves. He loves you today! And He is pleading with you, through me, today! If your garments are defiled, come to Him! Receive His correction, His washing today!, and be cleansed of your filthiness! He loves you! He’s for you! He proved it when He gave Himself on the Cross for you! If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Through the Blood of the Lamb of God, and through your testimony of what He has done through His sacrifice on the Cross for you, you will overcome the Devil, and all his destruction in your life, and you will inherit all things! Rev 21:7, He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son (Or daughter).  Jesus said, He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Churches today! Going back to Jude, he said, But you beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life! Keep believing His Word!, looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the Great God, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins on the Cross, that He might deliver us from every lawless deed, and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 2 Cor 6:17&18, Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty. Chapter 7, verse 1, Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
