15 Minutes With Jesus
I want to encourage you to listen to this program which my Lord Jesus has given me to publish every week: 15 Minutes With Jesus. A little history to the fact: Several years ago I finally decided to set aside Saturday, every week, as a day for God; not in the sense of keeping the Sabbath, but rather as a day for Him in which I don’t do my own work, or my own pleasure, but rather I seek only to do what He would have me do that day; set aside for Him. Shortly after making that commitment to Him, the Lord spoke to my heart and told me that because I had honored Him, He was going to honor me. Then a few days later Jesus told me He wanted me to do a 15 minute program. Almost immediately the name 15 Minutes With Jesus came up in my heart, also the scripture, Matt 18:20, Jesus said, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. So I spend time during the week in the scriptures and prayer, seeking the Lord and every week He gives me the Words He would have me share with you. We pray before every broadcast and seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit when we do the program. So as Darlene and I gather together in Jesus name with you, if you can receive it, we will be in His presence and receiving from Him the edification, exhortation and comfort He is giving us. Jesus said, The Words I speak, they are Spirit and they are life.
15 Minutes With Jesus
Not Of The World
...You are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world... John 15:19
Not Of The World
Greetings in the name of Jesus! This is Rob Haymes. This is 15 Minutes With Jesus. Wherever two or three are gathered together in My name, Jesus said, there am I in the midst of them. To those of you who love Him in truth: mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied. (Jude 1:2)
Thank you Heavenly Father; we thank you Heavenly Father this day; we bless your holy and righteous Name; Amen, the joy of the Lord is our strength! Thank you Lord. Praise God! Thank you Lord.
Today’s program is called, Not Of The World. In John 15:18, Jesus said, If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Does the world hate you?, or do they love you?
This is what has happened to the Church of Jesus Christ in America, and many other places in the world:
Each person, almost every individual Christian, has been drawn, through the lusts of the flesh, into looking at and listening to the things of this world on their cell phones; on their computers, or on their TVs, every day. It’s person by person; day by day, and not very much quality time with the Lord in the Word of God and in prayer. The same thing is going on with the preachers. So, the peoples’ and the ministers’ hearts are full of the world; the things of the world, and the things of the flesh, and when we come together, that’s what comes out of our mouths and that’s what we are doing. It is not the things of God’s Word or the things of His Kingdom. Of course, there are exceptions. Do we even have any clue what God is doing in the Earth, in our communities, or in our lives? How many of us are actually yielding to the Holy Spirit every day, as He leads us in the Word of God; in doing the Words of Jesus, in every situation, to listen to Jesus; to God’s still, small voice, and follow Him? Do you understand where we are in the Word of God? Do you care?
The answer:
Every individual Christian needs to repent of the love of the world; the lusts of their flesh and the lusts of their eyes, and come out from the world and come back to God; to His precious Word, and come back to the Holy Spirit as He reveals the Word of God to us, and come back to Jesus to be our Lord and Master in all our doings every day; to listen to His voice and follow Him every day. Jesus said, My sheep hear My voice and they follow me. We need to put away all our idols and uncleannesses and every defiling thing, and to purify ourselves by obeying His Word through the Spirit. 2 Peter 1:19, And so we have the prophetic Word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
1 Pet 1:13, Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, Be holy, for I am holy. And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever. You purify your souls by obeying the truth, the Word of God is the truth, through the Spirit.
Let’s go to 2 Pet 2:4, For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked. For that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds. Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. Verse 20, For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. Lot’s righteous soul was vexed every day by the things that he saw and heard in Sodom. Jesus said, I have chosen you out of this world; you are not of the world, even as I am not of this world. He told Pilate, My Kingdom is not of this world.
Once you begin to put off; put away, the uncleanness of this world and the flesh, and begin to increase in the knowledge of God and His holiness; as you are filled more and more with His truth and His love and His very presence, you will also experience more and more of His peace and joy, and you will begin to bear more fruit by the Word of God to His glory.
Let’s go to 1 John 1:1, That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. If we walk in the darkness of this evil world, we will not have that fellowship with them, and we will not have true fellowship with one another. Getting together and talking about the things of the world is not fellowship. The early Church continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine, (the New Testament), in breaking of bread, and in fellowship, and in prayers. We need to return steadfastly to all those things. If we will; if we will come out of this world, and forsake the evil, we just might have a Church. We are going to have to fast and pray and put these things out of our lives, or nothing is going to change. Ask for grace to help you to do it; ask the Lord for strength and self discipline and love for Him and love for His people. Do you want a true Church in America, or do you just want to gratify your lusts? Jesus is going to have a spotless, holy bride. If you want to be accepted of Him, you must put the things of the world; the ways of the world and the ways of the flesh out of your life. The Scripture says that without holiness, no one will see the Lord. You can say you’re under grace all day long, but if you are not seeking after holiness; separation from this evil world and the sins of the flesh, don’t be deceived, you will not be with Him; you will not be part of the first resurrection. So repent, and cry out to the Father and to Jesus for grace to help you to do this, Amen! He loves you, and He will help you, if you are sincere. He will find out what’s in your heart, and if you will truly seek Him for righteousness, you shall be filled. 2 Cor 7:1, Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Holiness is not wimpy; it is not “Holier than thou”. Jesus was holy; He only did that which pleased His Father; He never sinned; not once. He ate and drank with sinners; He loved them and taught them the truth. He came to save sinners and to turn us from darkness to light. Jesus was not weak. He was the strongest man who ever walked on the Earth. And if we will humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways, the very things that make us weak, and follow Him, He is able to make us holy, that we might walk with Him and His Father, and dwell for ever in their glorious Kingdom. Holiness is not sitting around in fancy clothes and quoting Scripture. Those who will depart from evil and follow Jesus, He will put you to work, doing very interesting things and important things in His Kingdom. As He said, people will hate you, and you will have to learn to love them and overcome evil with good.
Holiness is achieved only through love. Because you love God; because He loved you and gave His only Son for you to save you from your sins. Because the Father loved you and Jesus loved you, you love them, and you want to please them and you seek them for grace to be holy; for help in the time of need, when you are being tempted. Again, God promised, if you seek after righteousness, you shall be filled. If you want to please the Father and do His will, you can. You say, That sounds real nice, but no one can do that. That’s not true. Jesus did not lie. The Scripture is true. If you will try and ask God for help, He will help you, if you will humble yourself and ask for His grace. It takes time; it takes continuing in His Word and learning the truth, and being set free by the Son of God from the evil in your life. It takes separating yourself from false prophets and false brethren and embracing the truth, and others who love the truth. We can do this, if we are willing; we can have a true Body of Christ in America, and be a true light to the world. Amen!
