Stop buying courses. Stop buying programs, at least until you listen to this episode, because what I want you to know is that no course, no coach, no program is going to be able to wave a magic wand and magically fix your business. And if that's what you're expecting, you're setting yourself up for failure every single time. Over the last five years as a coach and over 1100 business owners coming through our programs. I've seen this enough times to know. the ones who fail in every single program, are the ones who come in looking for a magic wand who aren't ready to change the strategies that clearly aren't working in their business right now. The ones who want all of the results without putting in the work. and here's the truth. It's irresponsible of you as the business owner to expect your coach to care more about the success of your business than you do. In this episode, I'm gonna break down the exact reasons why courses do actually work or don't, and show you the exact mindset shift you need to make to see a huge ROI from your next investment. let's start with the brutal truth that no one wants to say out loud, but all of the educators talk about it's not someone else's job to build your business, it's yours. Education is not a business in a box. Courses, coaches, educational programs are meant to be a cheat code. The shortcuts To help save you years of trial and error and scale your business that much faster. But they will never replace showing up consistently hard work and understanding that it's your job to care the most about your success. If you're looking for a magic pill or you are not ready to listen to different strategies that could actually help you build your business, please do not buy another course or program. Okay, so let's talk about some of the reasons that well-meaning business owners actually fail in the programs that they join. Number one, they buy access, but they never engage. And this one breaks my heart because we talk to hundreds of business owners every single month that want to join Wedding Pro, CEO. They get inside and then they're like, I'm too busy to come to the calls. I'm too busy to do the work. I haven't opened a single module. And I'm like. I'm not sure how to help you. If you won't come engage. If you won't do the work, if you won't join the calls, then there's no way that we can help you because we haven't even been able to get inside your business yet. Number two, they want results, but they refuse to try new strategies. I get so frustrated when I'm talking with a new student who says, I've tried that before. It doesn't work. I've tried that before. It doesn't work. Oh, that won't work in my market. You don't understand my business. And I'm like. Why did you join this program? Because we have now worked with over 1100 students over the last five years, and all of our coaching team are also business owners, and we've seen a lot of what works and what doesn't. the students who come in with an open mind and say, yeah, okay, I'll try it. I've done that before. Here's why it didn't work. Can you help me rethink the strategy on this? Or, here's how my market might be different, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Can you walk me through exactly what that would look like? Those are the students who win every single time because they're open-minded and they're willing to try the strategies of people who've gone before them. The third one is that they consume endless amounts of educational content, but they never actually implement. And I would say this one is true of a lot of people I know I personally have even gotten wrapped up in this a little bit because there's so much free education at hand, right? You can watch YouTube You can listen to a podcast like this. You can watch Instagram reels, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook, there's a million ways to consume. Free content. There's also a million educators out there all giving slightly different advice. but at some point, all of that education isn't gonna help if you don't start to implement. I like to compare it to, let's say, me as the mom of three girls who play volleyball. Now over the years, I have spent more time in a cold gymnasium than I care to count, but because I've never actually played volleyball myself, if they threw me into a tournament, it doesn't matter how much volleyball I've. Watched. I don't know how to do it. I don't know how to overhand serve. I barely can pass, right? Like I try to do it outside with my girls just to help them, but I certainly cannot be put on the court during a tournament. It goes the same way for education. You can listen all you want, but until you start implementing and. Seeing what works in your business and making tweaks based on that data, you're never going to get it. You're never going to get better. You're simply just taking in all of the free education. The next reason why some wedding pros fail with courses and programs is because they expect the coach or the community to, pull them across the finish line. the reality is, I'm a big believer and you're an adult. You started your business. I'm 100% in it if you are in it, but there's no way I'm gonna reach out to you every week and say, Hey, Susie, I saw that you didn't do the homework I gave you. Or, Hey Susie, I saw that you haven't logged into the course in a while. I'm like, you made the choice to buy the course. You know that the strategies work. You are making the choice not to do the work and not to reach out and say, Hey guys, I'm struggling with this. Right? You are an adult. You are a business owner. You have to hold yourself accountable and come and say, this is what I'm struggling with. This is not working. Help me. And we're like, yes, we wanna do that. Like we're all in. At the end of the day, your coach cannot care more about the success of your business than you do. Okay, so yes, you've gotten a little bit of Spicy Brandee today, but this episode is not all doom and gloom and here's why courses don't work. We have had hundreds and hundreds of success stories inside of Wedding Pro, CEO, and literally every single day we get messages in our community that's like I just sold my highest package, or I just brought on my first team member, or I just paid myself for the first time, or I just crossed seven figures. There's so many wins inside of our program. So how do those business owners that see those kind of results, what do they do to ensure they're gonna win in a course or program? Number one, they're open-minded. They come in, they're like, teach me your ways and let me implement They set aside their ego and they understand that the way they've been running their business may not be the smartest way to continue running their business. So they're open to new ideas and strategies and they implement them quickly. Which brings me to number two, which is quick action. Business owners who win inside of courses or programs that they join, take action quickly. and adjust as needed. Because they know that success follows action, so they're wanting to get in and scale as quickly as possible. Number three is ownership. They take ownership of their own results. If something's not working and they've tried it, they come into the group, they ask questions, they go back to the coach. They say, Hey, I tried this. Here's the data. I don't think it's working, or, this is the result that I got. What else can I do? Or, what do you think about this? Right? They own the results. the fourth reason why wedding business owners who win in courses or programs win is because they leverage the support that's there. They're in the community engaging. They're asking the coaches for help. They're getting on the live calls, They're logging into the modules, they're watching them and sometimes rewatching them. They're using the resources that they're given. They're tweaking results as they go, and they're very engaged inside the community. the fifth reason why certain business owners are way more successful than others inside of programs is because of reciprocity. Honestly, I'm a big believer and give as much as you get, and so if you are coming in and you're asking lots of questions, also be available to help others who may be you are further ahead than I know for myself. Teaching makes me even better at what I already do because I have to really think about what strategy works here and so when you're in a community, really be engaged not only with taking and asking for support, but also giving support to those who you are. A few steps ahead of. Here's the thing, education is powerful. We live in a day and age where I would have given. Anything to be able to start my business today in 2025 when I can learn from coaches who are so far ahead of me I can skip all of the speed bumps that I had to hurdle to be able to get where I am today. The fact is I now can use so much of what I went through and what I learned through trial and error to teach other wedding pros help you to skip the hard part. Education collapses time and gets you where you wanna go faster, but it doesn't erase the hard work. you're looking for shortcuts without effort, please save us all the time and stop signing up for programs. But if you're ready to invest, not just with your money, but with your time, your action, and your commitment. Then that's when the right program transforms everything. your coach can hand you the playbook, but you're the one that has to run the plays. So before you hit buy on that next course or program, really think to yourself, Am I actually willing to show up and do the work?
