I told you I'd have Jill back. You know I said you were kind of the gal about town and the new daily format of Inside Scoop. You know, listen, she can't be on every single day. You guys are lucky when you can get Jill, I'll pop in here and there, right, listen, but we just recorded a great. We bought a franchise episode with Jeff Duden, who's the CEO of Homefront Brands, which has franchises like Top, rail and Window, hero and the Designery, and so definitely, oh, and also Tempered Wall Systems.

Speaker 2:

I love Tempered Wall Systems.

Speaker 1:

So you're going to want to tune into that. We will make sure that we put that latest episode of the um we bought a franchise podcast on the insides too as well, because you guys need to know about this stuff, um. But for today, we're going to talk about some franchises with you. So what we want to talk to you about today are a couple of franchises. One we want to talk to you about, fs8, which is the latest from the f45 group, which may or may not be Pilates, and then two we want to talk to you about the latest from Resi Brands Action Exteriors. The franchise fee on that thing is like 25 grand. It's so cheap.

Speaker 2:

I know Well, you'll get into it.

Speaker 1:

I will get into it. And then also we're in a tease on another franchise that we haven't worked with for a few years, that we're going to work with again. So, without further ado, jill, what is fs8 and why do we want it?

Speaker 2:

so I'm sure you guys are familiar with 45. The all the letters and numbers are like f45. So f45 is is like a crossfit type of deal. You'll see them popping up everywhere. I mean it's a great workout and people go, go like they are people do go go.

Speaker 2:

Well, no, they're like very into it. It becomes like a thing. So they've kind of taken that concept and the the kind of like I don't want to say cult following in the nicest way possible and turned it into more of like a Pilates and strict strength training concept. So picture like a 45. But instead you have reformers and your classes are intense. So picture like F45, but instead you have reformers and your classes are intense. They're a high intensity classes but they're a combination of yoga and Pilates and strength training, so great music they have.

Speaker 2:

I think it's four different types of classes. So they have kind of like a more of a basic Pilates, but you're always gonna incorporate strength training and yoga into it. And then they have a fast paced one that uses jump boards sometimes, and so that's kind of like if you picture Pilates on a reformer for any of you guys, you don't know that and you're jumping, so you're getting like a good cardio workout in as well, and so they have these different types of classes to kind of suit everyone. But the real main focus is really that strength training and really building up that muscle. So maybe less intense than an F45, but you're still getting an amazing workout. And then you get all the benefits of like yoga and Pilates. So it's a very cool concept and I think, with the hype of now everyone's really trying to focus on strength training.

Speaker 2:

Of now everyone's really trying to focus on strength training, like we have learned scientifically that that's really what, especially, you know as you get older, but not even that it's building that strength is is really key for, um, you know, your fitness and your endurance, but also for your health.

Speaker 1:

So, um, they're kind of taking that concept and running with it I mean since I switched and, by the way, when you said strength training, I was was like, like you know, show my my guns. Um. So since I switched to much more strength versus you know, like Peloton, um, my numbers for cholesterol, blood pressure have like become so much better, yeah, um. And so I mean I agree with that, I think it's it's it's so much. I mean I agree with that, I think it's so much. I mean I've seen it in the stats. Let's talk about the numbers. The franchise fee for FSA is $50,000. The royalties are 7%. The cash investment they want you to have at least $150,000 in cash. Total investment is $294,200 to $719,600. Wow, that's a heck of a delta.

Speaker 2:

You have a lot of machines. It depends on your rent. Um, you know it is, it is a retail location and you're going to need the space.

Speaker 1:

So you know, kind of, I think just really depends where you are and you guys know my stance on this always air towards the high number, Always, always, always. If they say yeah, if they say it's two, 94 to 719, I'm ready to send 719 and probably ready to put another 50 grand into businesses. I mean, look, this is. You guys want to know what we talk about as franchise consultants? Here's one of the things I will say to you Month six of any new business you're going to want to quit. No, that's crazy. Why would I say something?

Speaker 2:

no, it's crazy, it's realistic gotta be ready, folks.

Speaker 1:

You've gotta be ready, because if you're ready, if you're prepared to be a business owner, if you're prepared that it's going to be hard, um, then you will be a much more effective franchise owner. Uh, they want you to have a net worth of 500 000 and above. They say they are sba approved. It was founded in 2021, franchised in 2021. Uh, I think that must be for australia, because there's not. Let's talk about this. They have one corporate owned franchise. They have 27 international franchises that are operating, um, and 33 total. So it must be. I'm speculating, totally speculating, that maybe there's six operating in the United States. It's obviously not home-based, um, they say it can be run semi, I'm going to say involved. Um, that's typical for fitness, you know, because you hire a staff, you have a manager, that type of thing, um, but just remember, you guys, to be successful as a franchise owner, it comes down to you, even if it is semi involvedved, you want to make sure that you're ready to go out there and lead the team, drive the sales.

Speaker 2:

But again, we're really focused on fitness. There's a lot of boutique fitness things that are coming up. This one's legit, solid, covers a wide range of different types of strength training and exercising, so it's cool.

Speaker 1:

I mean of all the fitness sort of vertical sectors, whatever you want to call it, pilates seems to be the one that that everybody goes to the most consistent.

Speaker 2:

It's no joke, I do Pilates and I'm going to get you there one day.

Speaker 1:

How many men are in Pilates?

Speaker 2:

There's always at least one. In my class there's 12 performers. There's usually one guy, but it's. It's usually one guy, but it's it. It looks easy like you look at it and you're like how hard could that be? That's that's. You're just on a machine and you're using like sometimes one pound weights or bands. It is, it's hard, it's hard and you're using muscles you don't normally use one pound, I mean they.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, look you'll see. They don't feel like one pound, but they do say you know football players, it's great for agility, it's great for strength and and training. So, um, you know it's, it's a, it's a great exercise and I think one of the reasons people like it too is you're not all.

Speaker 1:

I don't know about fsa, honestly, but some of the other routines you don't really come out super sweaty, so you can actually do it on a lunch break or you can do it before work or something and still be able to go in, as opposed to going and doing like an orange dairy where you have to shower after if we were to work with you, and if you want to work with us and find out, by the way, we can save you two to ten thousand dollars you gotta text us to find out what that rebate is 305-710-0050 on your fsa. But one of the things that I probably would want to do is have you look at jet set pilates, which is the all the rage down here in south florida, uh, as well as explore fs8, um, and then I probably want to show you a few other things that aren't even related, um, because if you're going to do a franchise search, let's let's look at a number of different things, and if we're going to look at a sexy business like FS8, then let's look at a boring business too.

Speaker 2:

I mean it's boring. You just make me think it's boring.

Speaker 1:

I mean, what's better than a successful business? And you know, I mean, if you think about it like home services, businesses like the one we own. By the way, we own a franchise called Pink's Window Services. For those of you who don't know, we opened our franchise in March and we've been sharing all of our stories on the we Bought a Franchise podcast. So just look up. We Bought a Franchise to hear all the ups and downs of growing our Pink's franchise. So I've got a story for you.

Speaker 1:

So last month was October. We had a record month for Pink's franchisees. So again, that's kind of coaching you. We're going to teach you our secrets for being successful franchise owners. Okay, so we have this record month, right, we're all happy, everything's great. Then, all of a sudden, I get this bill from the company that we lease our second van from. We went out and we got the second van, which is a Pink van, which has all the pressure washing equipment. Now, by the way, our GM tells me we need another pressure washer. He's like we need to add another one in there because we need to have two guys going at the same time. It's like, dude, we just went out and bought this big truck, now we need more that's fast.

Speaker 1:

Business ownership yeah, get the, get the platinum card ready. So, um, we have this big month and then I get this bill in the mail that says you owe you know x amount of dollars, not a small check, and apparently the van company, which I won't name, you know, when you lease a van, you lease any kind of car these days they don't let you out of the dealership until they're connected to your bank yeah so I thought they were aching us.

Speaker 1:

Um, shame on me, they weren't. So they're like dude, you haven't paid your, your first two payments. You remember I went down here. I'm like I feel like a shady human being. We haven't, like, paid our car payments here. So I write them a check and then they call me. They're like oh, we fixed the issue, it was on our side. We're ready to? No, no, no, no, I'm sending you a check. So point of it is with this story is that that's business ownership. We're going to have the up and down and you've got to be ready for that. It isn't something you can throw into a neat little box, nope. Okay, let's talk about the newest, latest and greatest franchise called Action Exteriors. This is from Rezzy Brands. That also has pinks, that also has that one painter also has garage up. Action Exteriors Jill. What is Action Exteriors they have? They do roofing, siding, gutters and windows. Wait a second.

Speaker 2:

It's a little crossover there.

Speaker 1:

Seems like we might be competing with Action Exteriors um. I like that roofing aspect. The roofing is a great business.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, that's one of the things that, uh, you know we can't do, so that's really gonna be like the bread and butter for action.

Speaker 2:

exteriors and roofing, especially in the states that tend to be affected by weather, um, those are the ones that, uh, you know are really going to need roofing, whether it's roofing repair or actually really repair, that's what it is. So, throughout any storm I mean even in our neighborhood I just saw someone's. You know, our houses are anywhere from 2018 to recently finished and someone already has a roof leak, and we haven't even had a big storm. So you know there's always need for roofing repair and it's a big storm. So you know there's always need for repair and it's a big job.

Speaker 1:

So I mean. So what's interesting about how action this is really smart. They're starting the U S markets that are currently available Alabama, arkansas, colorado, florida, iowa, kansas, mississippi, oklahoma, tennessee, texas and they say the hottest regions are Florida and Oklahoma. Um, so that's it, guys. Very limited territories, it. They say the hottest regions are Florida and Oklahoma. So that's it, guys, very limited territories. It is a home-based business which we run our pinks from home, we run franchise insiders from home, don't have to go to an office, we can wear Lululemon and Viore and all that stuff all day long. So, as you guys for those of you out there listening that you might have to go back to the office tell your boss to shove it 're buying a franchise, you're getting it. Action exteriors and fsa um, okay, home-based, yes. Absentee, no. Semi-absentee or, as we like to say, no, semi-involved, yes. Um, the franchise fee is 25 000. That is really low. The royalties are 375 per per territory per week. Is that it? I mean that's it that's it.

Speaker 2:

That's a very affordable franchise, considering you're working from home, um, and the jobs are big, so you know that's usually a big benefit too net worth 75 000 uh.

Speaker 1:

Total investment 116 000 160 000. You guys know how we stand on this. Get your 160 ready so you pay your 25 grand. I mean again, be prepared that you might need to have more. Business always needs more Jill. Every time I've said to you don't be surprised if we think we're going to spend 200K and we need to put more into the business.

Speaker 2:

Always be prepared. It can't hurt to have more and to expect to spend more.

Speaker 1:

And we can save you two to $10,000 on this franchise. But you got to text us.

Yeah, it's a big surprise. It's like opening a present 305-710-0050. I'm sure he's a nice guy. Anyways, action Exteriors. You guys, this is I mean, it's from Resi Brands. So you know, the marketing is killer. Um then, jill, there was something else. I wanted to say, that a blast from our past, a franchise. We are going to start working with a self-serve yogurt franchise. I'm not going to tell you the name yet. You'll have to tune in next week to find out. But now that we're way officially out of COVID and if all of a sudden COVID comes back, please don't blame me. I did. Jay says.

Oh, they, but they. They made it through COVID, so it's fine. Even if it comes back, they know.

Speaker 1:

So these self-serve yogurts with a killer brand, these are good franchises. You know we love services, we love home care, we love Pilates. But you guys, this is cool that we're getting everything set on the back end to be able to work with this brand again and hopefully by next week we're all set. You guys are going to want to talk to us about this, because I mean self-serve, high-quality frozen yogurt, all the killer toppings. I anticipate now that it will be back in our inventory. I mean, my hunch is it should move fast. I mean, look at it, you've got a very tax friendly. This is what our accountant said to us. By the way, he's like, of all, people are accountant. He's like look at how this tax situation, with this new administration, sets up.

Speaker 2:

This is time for entrepreneurs to go out there and make money. Let's go make some money on yogurt. What's better than?

Speaker 1:

that let's go, open up your yogurt, open up your action, open up your FS8 and let's go to work. Don't go back to that house.

Speaker 2:

No, no, there's so many. I mean just even when you say those three, like that's. Again, it's so cool that there's so many opportunities. You can do a fitness, you can do home services, you can do yoga. They're all opportunities for you and come in, talk to us about yoga and you might end up with an action exteriors. Yeah, because once we really talk about what you want and what you're looking for and what you can invest, it totally may change your direction and that's good. We we actually hope that that will happen, because then we're pointing you in the right direction and and you're really understanding. Um, like we've always said, we really want to coach you for what you're signing up for, for what you're investing in um and let you really like understand the expectations.

Speaker 2:

And so let's have that conversation and we'll, you know, try to make it clear for you and, you know, have like a back and forth dialogue and we'll get you on the right path.
