Speaker 2:

Hello Magical Human and welcome back to Madison Mindset, the podcast. This is episode 300. Wow, I am absolutely amazed. I did not think in the beginning there would be an episode 300. I didn't think I would stop because I thought I would love podcasting, which I do, but I just cannot believe that it's episode 300. That's a lot of episodes, although it's been like four years, so for some reason I feel like that's not a lot of episodes in only four years. But wow, amazing, yeah, and I just want to start the episode with a thank you to everyone who's been listening.

Speaker 2:

For some of you I know, who have been here from the beginning, I appreciate every single listen, every download. I appreciate you so, so, so much. And now this is something that is slowly becoming my main job, which is unbelievable, an absolute dream. It's a gift to be able to share this information, share from my heart, share from what I've learned in my experience about everything from your relationship to yourself, to life, to spirituality, your mind, and to be able to actually do that more and more full time is incredible, and I have to say thank you to everyone who is supporting me. If you're wondering how you can jump onto Patreon, there will be changes to this over time. I'm currently working on a website and, yeah, kind of just integrating everything into that, but it's a little bit fiddly. So I'm just working on that little bit, little bit, day by day and, yeah, we'll get there. But for now, it's over on Patreon and I would love for you to jump on there with me and support me. Okay, you'll also be able to go a bit deeper. I do yoga classes and meditation classes over there and mindset coaching. I used to do a lot of one-on-one mindset coaching. That may come back in the future, but for now, it's focused completely online in a very accessible way to everyone who wants to experience mindset coaching or take a little bit more control over your own healing and your own self-love and mindset state. You can go over there now. Very accessible, very easy to get on, doesn't cost you so much money, right? It's very accessible for everybody. So, yeah, I appreciate the love and the support over there always, so I'm very, very grateful for that.

Speaker 2:

I wanted to lead with that gratitude to myself for continuing to do this for four years in a row now, yay and to everyone for listening. It's amazing, a huge gift, and I cannot wait to share more and more with you, as I am able to do this, as it is full time, more and more. You know it's taking some time. It takes time to make any dream work and happen. You know it's a constant journey of evolving and moving and allowing and patience. So, yeah, I see you Anyone out there who is, you know, making a dream work. You know, I see you. It's not easy, but you know, one day at a time and you never know where you might end up. So just keep going or keep swimming, as Dory would say in Finding Nemo.

Speaker 2:

For those of you who have not seen Finding Nemo, this is your opportunity. You must see Finding Nemo. There's no excuse to not see Finding Nemo. So definitely go and see that.

Speaker 2:

But that's a great lead in, because today we're going to be going over 30 life quotes that have really changed my existence and I hope, will change yours. I'm sure many of them you would have heard before, either because I've shared them or because you've seen them somewhere, but many will be new to you, hopefully. So I was going to do 300 life quotes but oh, my goodness, how long would we be here for? So it's 30 life quotes for episode 300. So, yeah, I hope these inspire you and excite you and maybe give you something to ponder and, yeah, really start to connect with life on a deeper level from these beautiful spiritual life quotes, some from famous spiritual teachers, some from movies, others from people you may have not heard before.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, I'm also going to put the list of quotes in the show notes below. I'm not going to say the name of every single person who has said each quote, mainly because most of them I cannot pronounce. So I might randomly say one or two when I know that I can say the name, but otherwise I don't want to sit here pretending like I can say the name and I just can't. So there's too many different variations, australian tongue, whatever excuse. I'm going to put it below in the show notes. So if you're curious, go and jump down there, especially if I didn't say the name of the person who said the quote.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but I promise all of them acknowledge thank you to everyone who said any of these quotes, if you happen to be here listening, which would be pretty exciting. I think a lot of them are past, so that would be very interesting. But, yeah, check out the quotes below. Feel free to screenshot them, make them your phone background or something you know. Take them, do what you want to do with them. So let's jump in to 30 life quotes to change your existence in episode 300. Let's go.

Speaker 2:

Hello, magical Human, and welcome to Madison Mindset podcast. My name is Madison. I'm a yoga teacher, a mindset and spirituality coach and a complete earth fairy. I see a world that is peaceful and easy to live in, humans that are awakened and enlightened towards who they are and what life truly is and why we are here. I understand life can be really hard. I've had a huge journey with anxiety myself. I understand what it's like to feel overwhelmed, overworked, stressed and frustrated within this earth. It is this journey that led me to begin my own growth journey, and it's only through those struggles that I was able to birth this podcast, so that you can have the tools and techniques and knowledge to help you step forward and be a being of light, a magical earthly being who is grounded, supported, who takes on challenges with love and embraces the lessons that each day brings you. Are that being. I am here to walk you there. You will find many different kinds of episodes through this podcast. All are created in the moment and with love for you. Find the one you need for this moment and enjoy. Take a moment for yourself, sit down with your journal and tune in. Welcome, let's begin.

Speaker 2:

Okay, let's jump into the first quote. The first one is a bit of fun and it literally was the first quote that even came to my mind before I started making this list. I literally wrote quote one. This is the quote that came to my head, and there's a lot of debate around this quote as to where it actually came from, because I thought it was Captain Jack Sparrow, but apparently he wasn't actually the one who said it, but maybe he was. I don't know, I don't care. The quote is so good. Wherever it's come from, I love it. So here's quote one the problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Love this quote. It's literally just saying whatever the problem is, that's not the real problem. The problem is you. Your attitude towards the problem is creating the feeling of the problem. This is one of the best teachings that has literally changed my life. Not just this quote I just love the way it's put here but the actual teaching of adjust your attitude to adjust the problem. It really has changed my life and it makes for less problems and far less serious problems. So yeah, amazing quote, definitely worth being quote number one.

Speaker 2:

Number two life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. This is another really famous quote. Again, the person who wrote this is going to be below. I feel like you're going to laugh. Someone's going to look down below and go. You can't say that and it's just going to be funny. But anyway, don't worry about it. Focus on the quotes.

Speaker 2:

Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated, and we do in so many ways. I invite you to look at your life. Where are you making it hard so many ways? I invite you to look at your life. Where are you making it hard? Are you complaining? Are you just doing all the complaining but not doing any action about the problem or anything that's going on in your life? You know a lot of the complaining, the gossiping, the frustration, the anger going over and over and over the problem, bringing it back up. We're literally making it hard. Life is simple Moment to moment. Do your best. That's all the end. It can be simple If it's complicated.

Speaker 2:

Look in the mirror. Quote three the unexamined life is not worth living. This invites opportunity for you to do self-study, as in look at yourself, look at your life. Why are you here? Who are you? Ponder, reflect. This is exactly how we find the meaning of life. It is how we find purpose in life. You know. You have to examine it Now. Don't just live your life day by day, letting it sail away from you. Look at it, explore it, examine it.

Speaker 2:

One of the best teachings. Quote number four yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, which is why we call it the present. This is really cool. I thought this was from Kung Fu Panda. It's my first spiritual teacher, oogway, not from there. Bill Keane, something, I think that's how you pronounce it. It Bill Keane is the one who said it. But, yeah, amazing. I love this. It really is such a light reminder of where your attention is supposed to be, and it's not on yesterday, it's not on tomorrow, it's today. It's a gift and that's why it's called the present. Very beautiful quote.

Speaker 2:

Number five all that we are is a result of what we have thought. This is from the Buddha and it literally teaches to me. You know the Buddha didn't mention manifestation, as far as I'm aware, but saying all that we are is a result of what we have thought is literally saying your mind creates your reality. So just be mindful of what you think. Six the quieter you become, the more you can hear. This is by Ram Dass. The quieter you become, the more you can hear. Be still, be quiet. This is where meditation comes in right. The quieter you are, the more clarity you have, the more you understand what's going on. The more simple life is. Just be quiet, calm. Even create a calm and quiet environment, not always listening to things, you'll hear more.

Speaker 2:

Number seven don't think about the past. Just be here now. Don't think about the future. Just be here now. Don't think about the future, just be here now. This is another Ram Dass quote, again indicating the present moment is the best place to be. For so many reasons. It's the only place you have to live. Do not waste your time spending so much time in the past and the future, your time spending so much time in the past and the future.

Speaker 2:

Eight when you live in complete acceptance of what is, that is the end of all drama in your life. Eckhart Tolle, I love this one. When you can accept what life is for what it is and not wish it was your way or a better way or trying to control it, the drama ends there Again, we're going to look in the mirror. Nine the primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it. Again, eckhart Tolle, the primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it. What's interesting is you can see all these teachers, these different quotes. They're all saying very similar things. Right, this is what we need to get into our heads and this is why I love all the different ways of saying it and hearing it, because it helps you learn. Mind your thoughts.

Speaker 2:

Number 10, it is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves. William Shakespeare, it is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves. I still believe this is another way of saying. The mind creates reality. Whatever it is destiny, then you will. It's like you know if you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you can't. You know. It's literally your mind has so much influence over your life and it all feels real. It all feels like reality because you're creating that reality in your mind. So be very mindful. It's within. The answer is within. The outside is reflecting the inside. It's like a mirror. So just be careful, think well.

Speaker 2:

11. If you love a flower, don't pick it up, because if you pick it up, it dies and ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation. This is a beautiful quote and it has helped me understand what unconditional love is. If you love someone, don't try and change them, don't try and modify something about them to fix them, to have them. You know it's like there's another quote, I think. I don't remember where it came from, but it's. You know, if you love something, let it go. You know, because if it loves you, if it's meant to be for you, it will be with you. You don't need to possess it and force it. You know that is not true love, that is conditional love. But unconditional love is seeing something, appreciating it for what it is and allowing it to be as it is. Appreciate it, let it be, and that's where you find true love. Or someone who wants to be with you because they appreciate you for who you are and they don't feel like you're trying to own them or change them or fix them. So it's a beautiful quote, that one, a great teaching on love.

Speaker 2:

Twelve I am not my thoughts, emotions, sense, perceptions and experiences. I am not the content of my life. I am life. I am the space in which all things happen. I am consciousness, I am the now. I am Eckhart Tolle. This is a teaching on consciousness, the essence of life, of who we really are. It's a very awakened quote. I love this one. I love Eckhart Tolle as a teacher. Allow yourself to ponder on these words, you know. Go down below, take a photo of them, a little screenshot, and keep them, because it's teaching more than you may feel. You may read that quote, hear that quote and go yep, I know exactly what he's talking about, or you may have no idea. Give yourself time to ponder and maybe spend time in meditation reflecting on the words. I am now 13.

Speaker 2:

Better light a candle than complain about the darkness. Ajahn Brahm. I love this one. This is for me. It kind of teaches two different things. For me, it kind of teaches two different things. Number one is don't waste your time complaining about life. Just do what you can to fix the problem. Don't complain about the dark. Just light a candle, just turn the light on. And I also love that. It kind of indicates towards awakening in the sense that instead of complaining about life and being frustrated with life, do something about it. Instead of complaining about life and being frustrated with life, do something about it, lighting a candle, through, you know, meditation, through self-awareness, and you'll find the light there.

Speaker 2:

Fourteen why allow other people to control your inner happiness? Ajahn Brahm. The moment you realize that other people have absolutely no control over your emotional state, it's only you that has control over that, and you're reacting to them, causing the emotional state. So you think it's them. It's not, it's you. So don't give people the privilege especially people who don't deserve it. Do not give them the privilege of having the ability to change how you feel. That's your job of having the ability to change how you feel. That's your job.

Speaker 2:

15. Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned. I recently had a conversation with someone about anger being a completely unnecessary emotion and they were like, yes, it is. You have to validate anger and it's just not. Nothing good comes from anger. You can't even solve problems with anger. You solve problems in a peaceful way, with openness, with understanding, because a lot of the time anger is wrong, it's not deserved, it's misplaced and it's misunderstood. So be mindful with anger. Nothing good comes from anger. Be calm and communicate clearly and with love, just like this quote says from the Buddha. Just like this quote says you're the one who gets burned if you're holding onto anger, so let it go.

Speaker 2:

16,. Three things cannot hide for long the moon, the sun and the truth. The truth is something I'm learning more and more how to share. You know, I never in, I think. Well, I can't say that. I'd say I definitely did intentionally lie when I was younger or as a form of self-protection, as many of us have. But now I've learned that a lot of my deep thoughts, feelings and struggles I keep internally and don't share them externally, which with certain people you know, your partner, your family, your close friends. That is a form of lying, you know. So it's interesting to be on the journey of trying to let truth come to the surface as best as possible. And when you try and allow more and more truth to come to the surface, it's very interesting, it's weird and you start to wonder where the truth is, what the truth is, how much truth is there that you have hidden, and it's not major things, a lot of the times just small things, small emotions, small struggles, small things that you have between you and yourself. But yeah, I think it's an important message. I've had times in my life where I've lied about something and the truth coming out has been really terrible or awkward, embarrassing, etc. Over my especially teenage years. I have to say, a lot of it kind of came from there, as many of us are in that boat. But yeah, it's good to remember that the truth cannot hide for long. So share your truth and that will maintain peace.

Speaker 2:

17. If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another. I love this quote. I just love it. I love all these quotes. I want to say about every single one If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another. I often share this quote with teenagers, actually, usually, who are being mistreated by you know, kids in school being bullied or whatever. When you understand that someone who treats you terribly, when you understand that that is not a happy person because they're treating you miserably, you suddenly feel this compassion for them and you feel, oh, like they must be really unhappy. Look at how badly they're treating me, you know. So it's interesting. This quote is the key to a lot of social stuff and understanding your own self as well.

Speaker 2:

18. Undisturbed calmness of mind is attained by cultivating friendliness towards the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous and indifference towards the wicked. This is from patanjali in the yoga sutras. This is really interesting. So if you want to maintain steadiness in your mind, you want to maintain peace. The way to interact with people is really simple If you encounter a happy person, be friendly with them. If you encounter an unhappy person, use compassion for them. If you encounter a virtuous person, a successful person, you need to be delighted, be in an energy of delight, and if you encounter a wicked person, be indifferent. Indifferent, because we have all been the wicked person in many situations. So these four ways you can interact with anyone in life and maintain peace of mind. Very interesting quote and a great teaching from yoga 19.

Speaker 2:

Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured. This is from BKS Iyengar. Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured, such as the mental suffering of life, anxiety, anger, sadness, grief, all those things. And it teaches you to endure what cannot be cured, such as some physical pain, the death of life, loss, grief, things that are part of life. And that is a gift from yoga that you can get rid of the things you don't need to endure and also develop the strength to deal with the things you need to endure.

Speaker 2:

Quote 20, awakening is not changing who you are, but discarding who you are not. Wonderful quote about spiritual awakening. 21, at any moment, you have a choice that either leads you closer to your spirit or further away from it. I love this. I also love using the thought. You know, each action, word or thought, is this helpful or harmful? You know, is it helping my peace and the peace of others, or is it harming? And it's a great way to make decisions and decide what you need to be doing in your life.

Speaker 2:

22, be the change that you wish to see in the world. This is a very popular quote. Instead of wishing there was change, why don't you be that change? You don't have to change anything yourself, you just simply have to embody that change. Very simple you lead the way, others will follow.

Speaker 2:

23. I have not failed many times. I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas Edison, great quote. You know, when it comes to, like what I spoke about in the beginning creating a dream, you know, following your heart, trying to figure something out, invent something, do something, you're going to fail. But is it failing, you know? And Thomas Edison, very successful, right, and he literally said he could have said I've failed 10,000 times. Instead he said I haven't failed, I just found 10,000 ways that won't work. He said I haven't failed, I just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Love this state of mind. So so, so good. 24, believe you can and you're halfway there.

Speaker 2:

Another very known one Beautiful 25, life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. John Lennon Go With the Flow. 26. The earth has music for those who listen. William Shakespeare, this is a beautiful quote about our connection with the earth. Take time to listen.

Speaker 2:

27. Gratitude turns what we have into enough. Gratitude is the key 28. What we have into enough. Gratitude is the key 28, a human being experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison. Albert Einstein, there's a scientist who's literally pointing at who we are, what life is about. 29. Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart, who looks outside dreams who looks inside awakens.

Speaker 2:

Quote 30. Usually, when we hear or read something new, we just compare it to our own ideas. If it is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct. If it is not, we say it is incorrect. In either case, we learn nothing. This shows us that sometimes we hold ourselves in our own limitation. You're not willing to learn something new just because it doesn't go with your current ideas or values, and you only accept things that match what you think. Understand that what we think may be wrong. We're only one human being. Listen to the opinions of all, the thoughts of all. Be open to learning.

Speaker 2:

I hope you enjoyed that. That is 30 quotes about life, each of which have really helped me, and definitely many of them I think about regularly in my daily life when they become very relevant. So I hope you use them and enjoy them and maybe gave you some kind of tool or technique to continue on in this life and live a peaceful, beautiful life. Thank you for being here. Magical Human, thank you for joining me for episode 300 of Madison Mindset, the podcast. Let's go with another 300 more. Let's do it. Wishing you lots of love and a beautiful rest of your day. Thank you.
