You just have to believe in yourself. That's literally what it all comes down to. That's what a beautiful relationship comes down to, what your job comes down to, what your friendships, what your family relationships are like, what your health comes down to, what your joy comes down to, it all comes down to whether you believe that you can have and deserve those things. Hello, magical human, and welcome back to Madison Mindset, the podcast. My name is Madison. I'm a yoga teacher, a mindset and spirituality coach, and an absolute lover of guiding humans like yourself back to peace, joy, and nature. In this episode, I'm going to talk to you about belief and why it is playing such a key role in your life. Most of us have no idea how much this is creating your life. So, let's get into it. So, what am I talking about when I say belief? What you believe about yourself, about others, and about life itself is what you're gonna get. That's this whole episode in a nutshell. What you believe about yourself, about others, and about life is exactly what you're going to get. Your belief system has been created and modified and deepened by your family, your community, any religion that you may or may not follow, any books that you read, the friendships that you surround yourself with, the school system, your work environment, any people that you hang around, anything that you've seen, your experiences, all of that create a set of beliefs. A set of beliefs about yourself. Do you think you're beautiful or ugly? Do you think you're smart or dumb? Do you think you're adventurous or are you more of a stay-at-home kind of person? Do you believe you can do hard things or do you believe that you'd avoid challenges the most you can? You know, what do you believe? Are you a gym person? Do you believe you go to the gym? Are you not a gym person? Are you active and inactive person? Are you a person who hates eating vegetables? Or a person who loves eating vegetables? What kind of person are you? What do you believe about yourself? And this goes all the way from how you dress, what you eat, what time you go to bed, how you shower, what you put on your body. If you're a person who believes that there's a real need to check out the ingredients list on your body lotions and things in case there's chemicals, etc., in it, then you will be someone who uses really beautiful organic products that you've researched. If you don't believe there's a need for that, then you'll be using anything you find at at the supermarket. Right? So everything, everything that you do, it all comes down to what you believe about yourself. Now what do you believe about others? Do you believe that other people are kind? Are they inconsiderate? Do they get you? If it has to be done correctly, do you have to be the one to do it? Right, what do you believe? Do people have your back? Do people let you down? What do you believe about other people? What do you believe about life? Is life fair? Unfair? Is life fun? Is life horrible? Is life a curse? Is it a gift? You can really look at this in so many ways. Do you have a soul? Do you not have a soul? What happens when you die? Right? There is so much. And we're not going to go into every belief and every possible belief you can have in this world. You know, I think faith, which is what I would call, you know, anything that, you know, maybe is a religion or some kind of spiritual connection, you know, that I feel is necessary. Faith and hope, reasons for living, you know, they it's it's important in a human being's life to have faith in something. I'm open to all. Open to all, any belief system that you want to adopt. But as long as you have faith, you know, as long as you have a real connection with life, I think that's a really important thing. But for this episode in particular, we're more talking about the simple day-to-day beliefs that you have and are carrying around about yourself or about others or about life that are impacting you. So let's say, for an example, say you want to be good with money, to have a relationship that is beautiful and full of love and kindness and friendship. You want to have great aligned friends around you that encourage you to be great. You want to be a morning person. You want to get up in the morning and show up at the gym and eat really beautiful food. Maybe you want to go on more weekend adventures or prioritize exploring your local area a little bit. Perhaps you want to be someone who is into art and is good at art or can crochet or can cook really amazing homemade meals or can build something. Whatever it is, that's what you want. Let's just say, for example, that's what you want. But you believe that you can't get up in the morning, that anyone you've ever been in a relationship with was toxic, and so all men are bad, all women are bad, whatever you want to, whatever you want to call it. You know, everyone is out to get you. No one cares or respects for you. You know, art is too hard, you can't learn these things. Maybe you believe you can't teach an old dog new tricks. That is a common, you know, common belief that people really struggle with. You know, maybe, you know, you don't believe that there's any decent friends out there or you've left it too late to meet any nice friends, maybe you've never been good with cooking and you can't follow a recipe, you know, maybe it all overwhelms you the idea of going to the gym or figuring out a nice routine so you just don't do it. If you believe those things, do you think you're gonna get that magical dream outcome that I just laid out for you before? Of course not. If I believe that I cannot get up in the morning, if I really believe that I don't get up in the morning, I'm not a morning person. If I believe that with every fibre of my being, what on earth is gonna get me out of bed when the alarm goes off at 4:30, 5, 6? You've got nothing. You've got no belief to get you up. Your beliefs are what propel you forward. They're like the petrol in your vehicle, right? You've gotta you've gotta have it. What do you believe? So what you believe about yourself and others in life is creating a reality. So, how do you start to change that? Because as I spoke about earlier, we have quite a lot of beliefs in so many different areas about pretty much everything. Pretty much everything in your environment, if you look around you right now, you probably have some kind of belief about everything, most things, or a story to tell, an experience with that thing. I want you to become someone who chooses to believe. And not just chooses to believe in general, because we all believe in something. Some people believe in bad, you know, negative, not gonna helpful kind of things, right? I want you to believe that the best outcome, that a peaceful outcome, that an outcome that benefits you, others, or life itself, or nature, I want you to believe that that outcome is worthy of being true. It's worthy of being true. You know, some people believe that, you know, nature's screwed, right? Heaps of animals are extinct, heaps of forests are being destroyed, you know, a lot of it's being destroyed. And you can believe that all of nature is destroyed if you want. And there's nothing we can do, but what does that do to help? It's good to be real and go, okay, this many animals are extinct, this many species of tree or whatever is extinct, this part of the forest has been destroyed. It's good to have that information, but to believe that it's done that it's too late, that there's no point What's the point? It's already been destroyed anyway. That's not helpful. Believe that the best possible outcome, nature's rejuvenation, new species come through, of tree, of animal, of everything, that humans learn how to live alongside nature again. Believe that that is possible. Belief turns into a frequency, and that frequency changes everything. The more people we have believing in peace, believing in love, believing in kindness, the more people we have doing that, you're gonna raise the frequency not only of your own life, but also of life itself for everyone. You just have to believe. Believe that it's possible to return to health. Believe that it's possible to create a beautiful, loving relationship with someone. Believe that it's possible that an angry person can be kind. Believe that it's possible that you can do hard things. Just believe in yourself. Whatever it is that you want to create, whatever work you want to have in this world, whatever you want to heal, no matter what that is, just believe in it. Okay? You don't have to write down how am I gonna get there, you know, to-do list. You know, that stuff's all great, but if you don't believe in the plan, it's got no drive, it's got no fuel. It's got no reason. Belief welcomes the unseen. Yes, in this physical world right now, maybe I don't have a six pack. You know, in this physical world right now, maybe I don't have a million dollars. And I can make a plan to get a six pack or to make a million dollars. But if I don't believe in that plan and I don't believe I can get there, I'm not gonna get there. I gotta I've gotta welcome in spirit, I've got to welcome in energy, aligned energy and belief. Have you seen how you know children believe in things? How children believe in something. They see magic and they know it's there. They create it. And it's through belief alone that they do that. Especially this time of year, right? There's so much belief, and that is what drives the magic. It's not reality that drives the magic, it's the belief. Look at the Grinch, right? We're around Christmas time, so I'm gonna use Christmas examples. Look at the Grinch. He took away all the presents, all the physical stuff. Everyone still believed in the magic of Christmas. That's belief. And their the strength in their beliefs is what changed his heart. It wasn't presents or Christmas carols or Christmas trees that changed the Grinch the Grinch's heart. It was belief. It was feeling, it was meaning, it was love, passion. Now that is strong enough to move mountains. So what I'm asking you to do before we move over into this next year, you know, you might be going, oh, I've got the same goals as I've got last year, or oh, this goal's a little bit out of, you know, this is a bit far-fetched, oh, I don't know if I can do this, don't know if I can do that, you know, blah, blah, blah, all the stuff that we come up with, all the excuses that we come up with. You might be at that point. I encourage you to try. Before you try anything else, try believing in yourself. Try believing in the reason you want it. Try believing in it. Try believing in that good, in that compassion, in that kindness, in that abundance, in that creation. Try believing. Believe in it. Belief is the fuel. The fuel will keep you going. Even through the harder times, especially through the harder times. So do yourself a favor this year and look at your beliefs. Whatever you are doing, whatever you're not doing, all of it can be linked back to a belief. And I do this work quite a lot with one-on-one clients. A couple of them right now have homework assignments to study their beliefs. You know, and we go through this together, you know, underlying where the feelings are coming from, what belief is it linked to, and it's it's quite complex work and it takes a lot of self-reflection, a lot of time. But it changes everything. It really is so magical.
