Arrive In The Present Moment

Give yourself a moment to observe to observe what this moment is for you. This point in time. Notice what you can feel physically. The clothes that you're wearing, the texture of the ground underneath you, the temperature of the air on your skin. What can you hear? Smell. Taste. See behind closed eyelids. What is this moment? What does it feel like? You're not looking for a verbal explanation or any kind of understanding, it's just simply being in it, experiencing it. Breathing in and out through the nose, if that's possible for you to do right now. Slow your breath. Breathe in, two, three, four, breathe out, four, five, six. Inhale, two, three, four. Exhale, four, five, six. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Imagine you are holding straw in between your lips. Breathe in cool air through your imaginary straw. Hold. Breathe warm air out through the nose. Inhale cool air through your imaginary straw. Exhale warm air through the nose. Inhale cool air. Exhale, warm air. Inhale, cool air. Exhale, warm air. Natural breathing. Begin to turn your attention towards your body. Notice your body. Notice your body. Observe any tension that might be being held in your body. Any old emotion, any old story, any inflammation. Notice any part of your body that struggles to soften, that struggles to lean into the ground. Without judgment, without trying to push these parts of your body away. Just simply tune into them. Notice. The common places are your jaw, eyebrows, shoulders, chest and belly, lower back and hips. But there may be other places in your body as well. Without judgment. Simply listen to your body. Tune in. Tune in return to your breath. And begin to turn your attention to your mind. As you follow your breath, observe any thoughts, any old thoughts, any emotions, any story that might pop up in the mind. Do not encourage these thoughts. Not indulging in them. Just observing them. Notice them. Like passing clouds, like waves rolling in and then rolling out. Like wind blowing a gale through your hair and then pausing completely. Allow them to calm and to go. To calm and to go. Not gripping onto anything. Not thinking about anything. Just allowing them to calm and to go. Watch your mind the same way you would watch a movie. Let yourself watch. Let it come in. Let it go out. Let it come in. Let it go out. Now imagine a beautiful green light in your heart space. Heart chakra. Love, compassion, forgiveness, peace, tranquility, connection, oneness. Let this light glow. With each inhale, breathe life into that light. With each exhale, let this part of you soften and expand. Inhale, breathing life into it. Maybe it expands a little bit further around your chest. With each exhale, it softens. Inhale, expanding the light. Exhale, softening the light. Let this light cleanse and heal your body. Let it fill your whole physical body with love. Your mind with love. The space around you, your aura, with love, the people in your life, your environment, your goals, your dreams. As you go into this new year, there is this newness available to you. Bring us love. Let yourself leave behind the old and welcome and open to the new. Let this light cleanse you. Take a big stretch with your arms over your head. Inhale, stretch as long as you can. Exhale to relax. Slowly sitting up tall. Bringing the hands together in front of heart space. And take a minute to be proud of yourself. For showing up, for completing this practice. Smile, soften your shoulders. And repeat the following words to yourself. I allow myself to let go of what no longer serves me. I allow myself to open to whatever is before me. I wish you peace and love.
