The Embodied Healer and Entrepreneur Blueprint System

Your body has been talking to you for years, and most of us have been trained to answer with more thinking. We’re living in our heads, pushing through stress, scrolling through noise, and calling tension “normal” while the nervous system stays on high alert. Today we slow that down and get clear on what embodiment actually is: living from your body instead of only from your mind, so you can notice what’s happening inside you before it turns into burnout, anxiety, numbness, or constant overwhelm.

We also dig into why disconnection is so common. Modern life rewards productivity, not presence, and many of us learned early that it wasn’t safe to feel. When you hear “stop crying,” “be strong,” or “get over it,” the body adapts by suppressing emotion. But emotions don’t disappear, they get stored. That’s why “I don’t know why I’m anxious” can be true in the mind while the body is still carrying unprocessed stress, grief, fear, anger, or shame. Embodiment isn’t about digging up the past for drama. It’s about gently reconnecting with the present so your system can finally exhale.

Embodiment is not just for healers, coaches, or spiritual people. Nurses, teachers, parents, retail workers, business owners, students, athletes, caregivers, and first responders all benefit from nervous system regulation and somatic awareness. We talk through how embodiment strengthens relationships by creating a pause between trigger and response, and why emotional flexibility beats emotional perfection every time. You’ll also hear simple, no-fuss practices you can start today: one slow breath, unclenching your jaw, dropping your shoulders, feeling your feet on the floor, and asking what your body needs right now.

If this helped, subscribe, share it with someone who’s been living on autopilot, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What’s one place in your body that’s asking for your attention today?

Why Embodiment Matters Now

SPEAKER_00

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of my podcast Soul Talk and Psychic Advice. Today we're going to talk about a word that has become incredibly popular over the last few years and that's embodiment. I've always used it some, but I notice that I've used it more and more as I've changed things in my business. But I think that what I forget to mention is that embodiment isn't just for healers, coaches, psychics, empaths, it's for everyone. And so I say embodiment is E for everyone. So if you spent any time in the personal development, coaching, spiritual, or healing world, you've probably heard people say things like you need to embody your future self, which everybody does if they want to manifest their ideal life. You do visualization, plus you must feel it in order to make it a reality. Um, you need to practice embodiment and becoming embodied. So it could seem very like um too woo-woo, too esoteric, too, you know, out there sometimes these terms for some people, and they just shut it down. They don't want to hear any of this. Some people even call themselves embodiment coaches. I guess I do some of that also. But somewhere along the way, embodiment started sounding like something that was only meant for healers, coaches, yoga teachers, therapists, psychics, and highly spiritual people. And it's not like that. So I want to challenge that ideal, and I want to challenge you to think differently and include yourself, you in this whole embodiment movement. Because the truth is embodiment isn't a career, it isn't a personality, it isn't a spiritual practice reserved for a select few. Embodiment is something that every human being needs. Whether you're a nurse, a mechanic, a teacher, a parent, a college student, retired, working at Starbucks, what whatever you do, you know, you need embodiment. Are

Embodiment Is For Everyone

even someone who has meditated a you know, who has never meditated a day in your life. Your relationship with your body affects every single area of your life. It does. Today I want to explain what embodiment actually is because I try to do like a short video, and you can't just like do a short video about what is embodiment. I just felt like I stumbled all over the place because it's bigger than this. That's why I made a podcast about it. And so hopefully people are interested in this podcast because my podcast is about, you know, everything that I've learned and wanting to share that with the world. You know, I want to talk about what embodiment is and why so many of us have disconnected from ourselves. We don't even know it. I mean, there's times that I didn't even know it, and I've been doing this work for years. It can happen for many reasons that we become disconnected. You know, we're busy working, living our lives, taking care of kids, just trying to get through the day. You know, we've got stress, something comes up, and we don't realize we're not embodying. And we're going to talk about why learning to come home to your body may be one of the greatest gifts you ever give yourself.

Living From Body Not Mind

SPEAKER_00

Let's simplify this. Embodiment isn't about being perfect, no, far from it. It isn't about always feeling peaceful because you won't. It isn't about becoming enlightened, because who wants to? Embodiment simply means living from your body instead of from your only from your mind. Most people live almost entirely in their heads. We do. We we're too much in our heads, overthinking, spinning, you know, that we're analyzing, planning, overthinking, worrying, replaying conversations, imagining worst-case scenarios, trying to solve emotional problems with more thinking. Meanwhile, their body is carrying the stress, their shoulders tighten, their jaw clenches, their breathing becomes shallow. A lot of people don't breathe deep. They just don't. Their stomach knots up, their nervous system stays activated. Yet many people never notice because they become disconnected from what their body has been trying to communicate from years. Or we have this thing of, you know, I'm just getting older, body's falling apart, I'm just getting older. Embodiment is learning to notice those signals before they become suffering. It's becoming aware of your internal experience instead of only reacting to what's happening outside of you.

Modern Life Pulls Us Outward

SPEAKER_00

We live in a world that pulls us out of ourselves. Yes. And there's always so much going on with the news and and everything in the world. It's a lot. And and sometimes people are like, I just gotta tune that out so I can cope because it's so much information. We're on a 24-hour news cycle now. We've got many channels doing it, we've got so much noise from all the podcasts. I'm guilty of it too. And you you know, all the stuff on social media from Instagram to Facebook to you know, whatever platform you're on, we just get so much noise. We we're not getting uh enough alone time. So think about your average day. The alarm goes off. You immediately grab your phone because a lot of people do. You start checking emails, you start checking social media, the news, text messages, work, traffic, deadlines, responsibility, kids, friends, you know, family contacting you, notifications. By the time most people stop moving, it's bedtime. And I think this was what freaked people out during the pandemic is that a lot of this noise was shut out. They didn't know what to do, you know, how to handle that because we were all in that rut of going, going, busy, busy. So there was never a moment to ask, how do I actually feel? Does my body need rest? What emotions am I carrying today? Who has time for this stuff, right? We're constantly pulled outward. Our attention belongs to everyone else, our employers, our families, if you have a business, that social media, the news cycle, politics, our phone, even entertainment trains us to escape ourselves. And sometimes we see it as oh, relax, go to a concert, you know, go to a movie, a game, something. And those things are great, and I think they're a wonderful part of life. But sometimes if they're caught up in the day where the day is already busy, it's just are you really enjoying those moments? Are you able to decompress and be present at the concert, the sports game, the movie? I see people looking at their phone while watching a movie in the movie theater. You know, sometimes we just can't settle in. So we're consuming more information than ever before. Yet many people have never learned how to simply sit quietly with themselves. A lot of people, you know, think, oh my god, I can't be by myself. And it's like, why not? Why not for five or ten minutes? And I know sometimes I when I travel, I go eat by myself and people stare at me. And I think it's becoming more common now, but people would stare at me and they're like, Are you okay? What's wrong? It's like, do you want to join us? No, I'm okay. Yeah, you know, we haven't learned to just be with ourselves, and a lot of people get triggered by the fact that they would have to be alone, and it isn't about a weakness, it's because modern life rewards productivity, not presence. Being present is just like last in line for us. We don't talk about those things. I have to admit, as I was going

When Being Alone Feels Hard

SPEAKER_00

through this journey of my business, I stopped talking about certain things because I figured it wasn't popular, people don't want to hear it, and I lost myself along the way, and I just said I just talk about things I know people want to talk about. And sometimes I I said forget it, and I started talking about overgiving people pleasing, then everybody else is talking about it. But I said, I'm gonna give back and talk to talk about everything that I think is important, and people who want to hear it will hear it, and those who don't won't, and that's okay. Why so many people feel disconnected? Many of us learned very early that it wasn't safe to stay connected to our bodies. Maybe you were told stop crying, you're too emotional, you're too sensitive, get over it, be strong. So instead of feeling, you learn to suppress. And that's what those emotions do. They they cause us to not be comfortable in our body, are comfortable with our feelings. So instead of listening, you learn to ignore. Instead of trusting yourself, you learn to trust everyone else's opinions. Eventually your nervous

Why We Disconnect From Feelings

SPEAKER_00

system adapts. Your body learns. If I don't feel it, maybe it won't hurt. But emotions don't disappear because we ignore them. They simply get stored. Stress gets stored, fear gets stored, grief gets stored, anger gets stored, shame gets stored. Your body remembers experiences long after your mind has moved on. That's why people often say, I don't know why I'm anxious, I don't know why I'm exhausted, I don't know why I feel numb. Sometimes the body is still carrying experiences, it never had the opportunity to process, because it wasn't safe to process them. Embodiment isn't about digging up the past, it's about gently reconnecting with the present. That's really what it is, and it's really, you know, simple, but you know, being present and connecting with the present is hard if you've been told that that's wrong, you know, your whole life, not to feel just push your feelings aside, keep pushing, keep going. You know, we do that a lot to people. Every profession needs embodiment, every single profession that we have is important. I don't think one is more valuable than the other. And I know some people are like, well, if you go to school to be a lawyer or doctor, and they're important, yes, but every profession, whether you've had to go to college or not, you know, I always tell people that my favorite profession is the people who pick up our trash every week. Because if they didn't, the diseases we would have, the parasites we would have, the

Stress Stored In The Body

SPEAKER_00

filth we would have, the the problems, we would have some major health problems. And that's why people like in the 17-1800s died because trash was just on the street. They were sick all the time and you know have plagues and stuff because of the garbage. So, you know, if I was a pick a favor profession, that's mine, but honestly, I believe everything's important. The person gets your coffee, brightens our day, right? You know, and so every profession has equal value if you ask me. So every fresh profession needs embodiment. This isn't only for therapists. Think about healthcare workers, they spend all day caring for other people without embodiment. Compassion fatigue becomes much more likely. And that happens to a lot of caretakers. Even when you're caring for a loved one. Teachers, they manage classrooms full of children while regulating dozens of emotional situations every day. Kids. Just think of how we were as kids. We were a handful. Parents, they constantly put everyone else's needs before their own business owners. Stress impacts decision making, creativity, leadership, and confidence. Athletes. Performance isn't just physical, it's nervous system regulation. Students. Learning improves when the brain feels safe. First responders, military veterans, caregivers, office workers, truck drivers, retail workers. Oh my god, if you work in retail, if you've done that, fast food workers, you need a lot of regulation to do those jobs because that's some hard work dealing with the public. People get mad over food and retail construction

Every Job Needs Regulation

SPEAKER_00

workers. Yes. Every human nervous system functions according to the same biological principles. No matter what you do in life, everybody benefits from regulation. Embodiment isn't a luxury, it's part of being human. Keep that in mind. Embodiment improves your relationships. Maybe this will make people care. Because people always talk about their relationships. It's the number one reason people call for readings on the platform where I work. One of the biggest gifts embodiment offers is healthier relationships. When you're disconnected from your body, you often react automatically. Someone criticizes you. You become defensive. Someone disappoints you. You shut down. Someone raises their voice. Your nervous system goes into survival mode. But when you're embodied, you notice what's happening inside you. You recognize

Embodiment Strengthens Relationships

SPEAKER_00

my heart is racing. My chest feels tight. I'm getting activated. That awareness creates something incredibly powerful. A pause. And inside that pause, a choice becomes possible. Instead of reacting, you can respond. Instead of people pleasing, you can set boundaries. Instead of exploding, you can communicate. Instead of abandoning yourself, you stay connected to yourself. Healthy relationships begin with a healthy relationship with your own nervous system. Healthy relationships begin with a healthy relationship with your own nervous system. Think about that. That's why the biggest relationship and the most important one is with ourselves, and people think it's just about self-care and soft life and stuff, and it's really about embodiment first, and then everything else gets easier and follows. Embodiment isn't about being calm all the time because you won't. Oh, I I can get triggered, sure. And but I could catch myself like I had to catch myself yesterday over something I said, Donna, it's not necessary. Um this is one of the biggest misconceptions. Embody people still experience anxiety, sadness, grief, fear, frustration, and anger. Yes, we do. And it isn't about perfection ever. I simply don't stay trapped there as long. And that is true. I I noticed that over the years. I'm like, oh, this is good. Yeah, you know, so I want that for everybody, you know. If we're supposed to want something for everyone, I want everybody to be able to do that. Because they know how to move through emotions instead of becoming consumed by them. Yeah, and it passes qu it it passes quickly. You know, when you do nervous system regulation, vagal nervous system, you know, exercises, vagal toning, um, somatic work, it helps so much to stay embodied and y you know, when I see people get quick to argue and fight,

Emotional Flexibility Over Perfection

SPEAKER_00

it's like I get it, I've been there, but when you do embodiment work, you don't feel the need to do that. It's it's because you can move through the emotions instead of being consumed by them. Embodiment isn't emotional perfection, will never be. It's never supposed to be that. It's emotional flexibility. I like that. It's allowing yourself to experience emotions without believing they define who you are. It means learning to say I'm anxious instead of saying I am an anxious person. You say I'm grieving instead of I never recover because you can. Because some people that have one thing happening, they think their life's going to hell. There's a huge difference in this language. Embodiment creates space between your identity and your temporary emotional experience. Think about it. Embodiment creates space between your identity, who you are, and what you're feeling for the moment. So you just don't don't turn into I'm a stress-out person, I'm anxious. I'm always like this. You know, embodiment can help with that. Simple ways anyone can practice

Simple Daily Embodiment Practices

SPEAKER_00

embodiment. You don't need expensive retreats. They're fun though, but you don't need them. You don't need crystals, but I love crystals. You don't need to meditate for two hours, don't have time. Most of us don't have time. You can begin today. The next time you're stressed, pause and take one slow breath. Notice where you're holding tension. Relax your jaw. Drop your shoulders. Feel your feet touching the floor. Ask yourself, what am I feeling right now? What does my body need? What does it need? It needs us to be present. Maybe it needs water. Maybe it needs food. Maybe it needs movement. Just move around. That's why, you know, a little bit of dancing. It isn't about being a great dancer. Just move the body. Do some stretches. That's why stretching is good. Maybe you just need five minutes away from your phone. Maybe it needs rest. These simple moments build awareness. Awareness becomes regulation. Regulation becomes resilience. Resilience changes your life little by little. You begin trusting yourself again. And that's what it's about. It's about your relationship with you because once that's established, you can deal with other people better. So they may get on your nerves sometimes, you may wanna you know say something to them, but you'll be able to control what you say and the time that you that they're getting on your nerves gets less. And it's like, whoa, I'm not that affected anymore. It it's pretty cool, you know, to be able to feel that.

The Core Takeaway And Closing

SPEAKER_00

So I want to close this out. If there's one thing I hope you take away from today's episode, it's this. Embodiment isn't just for healers. It isn't just for coaches, it isn't just for impasse. It's for every human being who has ever felt overwhelmed, disconnected, burned out, anxious, or like they spent too much of their life living on autopilot. Your body has been communicating with you your entire life. The question isn't whether it's speaking, the question is whether we've learned how to listen to it. Coming home to yourself doesn't happen in one weekend. It doesn't happen through one meditation. It happens one moment of awareness at a time, one breath, one pause, one choice to stay present. Because the greatest relationship you ever have is the one you can build with yourself. And that's why I always add like a nervous system moment or somatic exercise and my podcast conversations. And I hope that people do them. I hope they do. Um because I they they help. I feel like they can help. And so I want to thank you for listening. Um it's I want to do more stuff like this because this is you know, as a 55-year-old person and I look at what legacy I would want, these are the things I want to leave because these are the things that I've learned through doing readings and coaching and and understanding human behavior. I've been blessed with understanding human behavior on a deep level, you know, through my work. These are the messages I want to leave people that I feel like will help the most. And so I want to thank you for listening and have a good day, and see you in the next episode. And remember, the journey isn't about becoming someone new, it's about coming home to the person you've always been.
