Interested in the truth

The socially-adapted person has no 'interest in the truth' - if a socially-adapted person had an interest in the truth then they would no longer be 'socially-adapted'. They couldn't be - to function in society it is necessary that we have loyalty to the group (to the 'tribe') and so to question what we collectively understand to be true would be an act of betrayal. We see none of this, of course - we see none of this and - what's more to the point - we aren't INTERESTED in seeing it. We couldn't be less interested in seeing it...
