The Women's Health, Wisdom, and... WINE! podcast is a biweekly conversation with practitioners, providers, patients & healers about complex reproductive medicine & women's health challenges, the value of an integrative approach to these challenges, many of the women's health topics you're already thinking about & uncomfortable talking about & my personal favorite... WINE!

The dreams you had of holding your baby and watching her grow? Gone. So much of what you wanted and planned for have been lost seemingly in an instant leaving a large, empty space not only in your womb, but also in your heart.  Not only are you grappling with the profound emotional fallout, you're also isolated from your partner and family by a chasm of grief. It may take a long time to heal these spaces.

About our guests:
Sadija A. Smiley is the Founder and CEO of Stillborn And Infant Loss Support (SAILS). SAILS was created to honor the life of her daughter, Ivyanna Salene, who was born sleeping on 11/13/2003 at 36 weeks. Sadija has worked in the nonprofit sector for 20 years, serving women, youth, families and veterans. She is co-author of "Your Wings Were Ready But My Heart Was Not" and "Finding Joy in the Journey".

Joanne Zerdy was teaching at a university and active as a researcher, author, and editor when her first child, her son Finlay, died suddenly and inexplicably during childbirth in 2014.  As she began healing from this traumatic loss, she turned away from academia and towards permaculture design and herbal studies, earning certificates in both areas. In 2017, she co-created Inviting Abundance with her husband Will Daddario.  Joanne facilitates creative grief projects, including a Grief Pen Pal Project, online Grief Mapping Class, and Grief Workshops. She also teaches perinatal loss support trainings to care providers, mental health professionals, and birth and death workers.
