Walking Alongside: Perspectives
Welcome to Walking Alongside: Perspectives. Take a walk with me as we explore perspectives that I find interesting, moving, ridiculous, hilarious, infuriating, frustrating or down right bizarre! This iteration of the podcast features a combination of short (read 10-15 minutes'ish or less) solo-pods sharing what I have seen, heard, experienced or am navigating and fun and insightful conversations with cool people. Hopefully it will be relatable, possibly humourous, thought provoking or at the very least, entertaining. Looking forward to sharing these perspectives and hope you enjoy.

Certain songs are just iconic and their messages timeless - and that was the impetus for this episode. I talk a lot about change and how it's inevitable, and not always what we want, but that we need to accept it. But we can also impact it - we can push for the right and good things and fight agains oppression or cruelty or yes - stupidity. I bring in thoughts from a number of previous episodes but also wonder why things are the way they are (old habits die hard).
What are your thoughts on the state of the world and the changes that are happening?
Songs featured in this episode are:
Fight the Power - Public Enemy
Talkin' About a Revolution - Tracy Chapman
A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke
Redemption Song - Bob Marley and the Wailers
The Times They Are A-Changin' - Bob Dylan

Walking Alongside is written, recorded and produced by me - Charissa McKay (aka CharCharBinx) in my awesome basement home office/studio/craft room on Treaty 6 lands known originally as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, meaning Beaver Hill House, in Nehiyawewin (Cree). There are other names, equally as meaningful, and I am grateful to those who were here before me, for the ability to call this place my home.
