With the South African national elections set for 29 May 2024, I sit down with MP,        DA provincial chairperson for KZN and Shadow Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Dean Macpherson.

Dean has been a member of parliament since 2014 and having made his way up the Democratic Alliance through local governance in Durban North and surrounding areas, he has a unique and first-hand account of our situation in Ethekwini in particular.

BIG takeaways from this episode are as follows:

According to the polls, no party is going to get a majority this election. This is unprecedented.

The multi-party charter has become a realistic light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

The DA has outlined what appears to be a practical five-year plan, based on seven Apex priorities.
