#305 - Lamar Noir by Kajal
This episode, we unpack the tantalizing notes of Kajal's Lamar Noir, an intriguing blend that immediately sparks a playful debate. Jonesox’s review gives us a good laugh, while memories of our own linguistic missteps with words like "persnickety" remind us that exploring scents is as much about personal stories as it is about the fragrances themselves. Special guest Laci joins with her vibrant enthusiasm, sharing her passionate thoughts on this unisex perfume that bridges the gap between the feminine Lamar and the masculine Kajal IV.
hello everybody, welcome to the clone podcast I'm mike, I'm ryan.
Myke:We're two best friends. We're going on a fragrance journey. We're smelling brand new fragrances from good job and giving you uneducated opinions that's right, mike.
Ryan:We're smelling brand new fragrance about kajal. Well, I don't want to say we're smelling. We've already smelled this before. Yeah, but we're still gonna smell it. Yeah, we're still gonna smell it again. Smelled this before, oh, yeah, but we're still going to smell it. Yeah, we're still going to smell it again, but it's a brand new one called Lamar Noir. Oh yeah, a flanker of Lamar, which both of us fucking love. Yes, now, I don't. This is just my opinion. I feel like it's more for the ladies out there. Uh-huh, I agree, and I've smelled it a few times, and every time I've smelled it, it's almost like Starburst-y candy. I don't know how to explain it. It's gorgeous, great smell.
Myke:It's like if Starburst had a rose flavor Rose and pineapple. Speaking of Starburst and flavors and people named Joan Socks on Fragrantica, Just read a review for this. As you guys know, we like to dig deep to find the greatest reviews on the planet. What did you do? Like five minutes of research?
Ryan:Yeah.
Myke:Always like. All right, obviously we're going to like this fragrance. So let's find someone who doesn't like it, and that's Joan Socks, who says leather period, the end period. Roll the credits.
Ryan:That's it. Huh, just leather, just straight leather. Okay, we'll see where that stands later in the episode.
Myke:Let's just see if that genius out there on Fragrance goes right, you're being persnickety, I am.
Ryan:Remember the first time you used the word persnickety around me? We're at a wedding venue. You don't remember using that? No, I don't. You admitted to me and that person that day that let us in there because we were interviewing that couple for the one video and you were using persnickety and you were telling them the reason why was because you had, like a word, calendar oh no, I was lying, oh you bastard. I was like secret. I was like what a loser I had as a word calendar.
Myke:No, no, no you lied about that. Yes, I did. Wow, what else you fucking lying about? Well, I wasn't like. It was like joking, like oh, you know, I got a word in the day calendar I got to use.
Ryan:I thought you were being for real. No, holy shit, my whole life's a lie right now. What the fuck?
Myke:I'll tell you exactly where I first heard that word Okay. It was from. I think. The company is called Sergento the cheese company Okay, and their slogan is Persnickety People, Exceptional Cheese. Is that really their slogan? I think so, or at least it was on, and I just kept going Persnickety. I was like that's a really dumb word that I'm going to use a lot, Wow.
Ryan:And here I am using it, trying to be real with it. Yeah, yeah, okay, yep, there you go, all right. Well, let's, uh, let's, smell this beautiful fragrance, yeah and give you an opinion about it.
Myke:Some would say we're persnickety about fragrances fuck me guys.
Ryan:I'm just gonna say this out the gate you've listened to this show, you poor bastards, for over three years now, going on four this year, right, yes, that's right, like I've never done anything longer than a fucking month, yeah for sure, damn.
Ryan:But if you listen to this show, I'm about to get ron's walking papers right now it's like I can't be committed this one well, if you listen to the show, you know like I'm the one of the two, I'm the one that's like give me the smoke. You know what I'm saying. Like I want the loud shit, I want it to be abrasive, you want it as loud as possible and you know I do not shy about spraying something like fucking crazy. Yeah, I just don't. I'm here to tell you guys I mean, just smell it fresh again right now. This is god that it really is pretty. This is one of the loudest fragrances I have ever smelled, genuinely, yes, so much. So I've told mike, off air, this would be one of the very few there's literally less than a handful that I would just be like two or three sprays. I'm good, yes, because it is fucking crazy you would not need many for this one.
Myke:What are you smelling? By the way, we just sprayed it? What do you smell when you're putting your hand up to your nose?
Ryan:or you got this deaster strip well, when we first smelled this, when it first came in, because kajal has sent over 45 decants for us to give out to our patreon. So if you're a patreon member, yeah, you got a damn good chance. You're gonna get exactly. And of course, and of course we were like we got to smell this shit right now, before we even said anything to anybody. So we did and I mean I loved it then, but it was like crazy leather and pretty much smoked to me.
Ryan:But I don't get that 100%. Now I wouldn't say I wasn't as mean about it as that guy was, but I was like it's fucking leather, it's like the leather of all leathers. Right now I'm like I can smell the undertone of the original lamar. There is a little sweetness to it and even spraying it. Now since the last time we've smelled this we've smelled a couple of times before. Now it smells a little bit different again, like I guess what I'm trying to say is like and I don't mean this in a bad way, but it might not be for the faint of heart.
Myke:Well, it is gas peddled down to the floor.
Ryan:Absolutely. But also in saying that I think that's where this is not a challenge in a bad way. But after a few wearings you're going to smell what this thing's kicking up.
Myke:This actually segues into what we want to talk about. One is that we've done an interview with Mo, from Kajal, about this fragrance and so we're about to jump into the inspiration of it. But I want to preface it by saying it makes sense because this fragrance was made by, I won't say a novice, but somebody who was entering into making fragrances, and you think about where that person is versus somebody who's been down the road, yeah, a few years. After a while it becomes a job. But that first fragrance has got to be like full of just passion. I think that's kind of where this comes from. Like you're saying, it's not for the faint of heart, it is intense, it's very over the top and I think that comes along with that. This is this guy's first swing.
Moe:In fact, let's just play that clip from mo where he kind of talks about where this inspiration came from you know, when you have a fragrance that's doing well, like lamar for us as, uh, one of our top sellers, so you start to think of what if I have an intense version? What if I have like an elixir? So that was the main concept that I was trying to do was to come up with something regarding Lamar that could be heavier, you know, more concentrated scent, and so it was one of our companies that we deal with that provide us the oil for Lamar. They work with Mark Buxton for this fragrance and their offices are right opposite our offices in Dubai. Usually the sales manager of the region.
Moe:I'd call him and we'd go out for lunch, sometimes together, or dinner, or you know, we'd walk across to a restaurant, across our offices, and so it was one of those days. I called him and we decided to meet up for lunch and we met at the Peruvian restaurant eating ceviche, and then I was telling him of the new project and that I wanted to send the brief to Mark Buxton so that Mark can come up with a new fragrance for us for Lamar that was more on the intense side. He told me that he was studying to become a perfumer. He wanted to change his profession, so in-house, with the companies working with. He was studying to become a perfumer and he's like you know what? I'm not supposed to do this because I'm still a student. I'm going to try to do something for you, yeah, and to see you might like it. I'm like, okay, why not you?
Myke:know, so we love the rebels out there yeah.
Moe:So he told me, um, I'll let you know. Uh, what are you thinking of calling it? I told him I don't not sure yet. Could be lamar intense, could be Lamar Elixir. He's like, why not call it Lamar Noir? I'm like, oh my God, that totally makes sense. And then he told me, you know, if you want to call it Lamar Noir, I'll make it so that it's a darker version of the Lamar.
Moe:A month later I got the mods from Mark Buxton and I tried them and at the same time, when they delivered them to us, I had this file from Patrick, and Patrick's vial was, you know, just blew me away because it sort of was a different aspect to Lamar, not very similar, but it had that DNA. So it was that nice sort of essence that you like from lamar, but then totally covered and totally encapsulated with darkness, the, the leather, the wood, right in the, in the fragrance. So I told them you know what? This is your first fragrance and it's a winner. It's so good. Even their companies like how you. We have so many perfumers that submit so many things and they never get lucky or chosen and Patrick's first submission was his first winner.
Myke:So that is wild. We were saying this off air before we connected with you that like he'll probably be chasing that the rest of his career, that just like first time at bat hits a home run. Like how do you get that? Yeah, exactly, okay, guys, we're back, we're still smelling this and off air ryan, you were kind of talking about this fragrance continues to open up, like as you've smelled it and you guys probably know this from other fragrances you have, especially if they're really strong in a certain direction.
Myke:Yeah, when you first get hit with the initial burst, it's like whoa, this specific fragrance, whoa, it's leather, it is strong, dark, woodsy leather. And then I remember the first time we sprayed it as it was drying down. Then we're like, oh, there's more of that, lamar, there's more of that as it was drying down. Then we're like, oh, there's more of that, lamar, there's more of that. But now that we're smelling this, it's deeper and richer and more nuanced than what we remember the first time. I think because we were so taken aback by how strong and rich that leather smell is. And now we're getting to a place where now we've smelled it, we've kind of got used to it, we're learning all the corners and edges of it and when we smell it now I agree I'm picking up more of that Lamar DNA.
Myke:Yeah, it's like sweet the rose is coming through really strong.
Ryan:It's honestly perplexing me how it can be this much. I mean, I guess it shouldn't, because we were fucking blown away by must revageur after a year of hating it.
Myke:That's a great example of how, the first time we smelled it, we didn't pick up all the things, and then the next time we went through, we're like, oh, we get the vanilla in there now. Now we understand that this is genuinely blowing my mind.
Ryan:It's hard to like wrap my head around it, because I wasn't smelling any of this lamar undertone, if I'm just being real, the first time. It was just like god damn, this thing's fucking. It made sense. It's leathery, it's smoky woodsy, that's dark, that's noir. Right, yeah, I feel like it hits that mark, but now it's like I do for a person. If you really do love the original lamar, this would be something pretty interesting to you. That would be a flanker, but quite a bit different, but you'd still have that undertone of what you originally loved.
Myke:You're definitely picking it up more now than maybe you were the first time because you're hit with such a strong present, unique leather, honestly. Yeah, there's like this resinous smokiness to it when it's not just leather, there's more. Yeah, but now that we're smelling it this time and we're kind of focusing on it, I think sometimes your attention to the fragrance matters too. Yeah, because I think we were so hyped up Look, when they sent us the box. It's a massive box of these. It took up the whole fucking table. It's the craziest thing we had ever received, honestly, for the podcast, because it's like close to 50 travel atomizers in boxes, in leather pouches. We're like this is Christmas to us. You know, getting this stuff, we're kind of overwhelmed, so it's taken some time to really wear it and get used to it and stuff like that to really understand what's going on, because there is a lot to it. There definitely is which is different than what Joan Sox was saying, which it was only leather and maybe off the initial burst. You think that.
Ryan:I think this guy just smelled his initial reaction. If I had to give you my initial reaction just off the first rip, I would have been like oh, this is like one of the most leathery leathers you're ever going to smell, with some smoke to it. Now that I've worn it a few times, though, it is definitely not that it smells so freaking good and, honestly, it's balanced well. Yes.
Myke:Very well balanced. We talk later in the interview and we won't cut to that because it was just one meandering thought I had. But if you know Kajal's line, they have this Lamar, and then they have Kajal Om 4. I think maybe it's just called Kajal 4 at this point. And then they have this fragrance, lamar Noir, and Lamar Noir fits right in between Lamar and Kajal 4. And Lamar feels more feminine, kajal 4 feels more masculine and this is right in the middle. It like bridges the gap between the two fragrances which, for somebody to out of the box, just their first fragrance, their first brief or whatever, the first swing at bat, he was able to make a fragrance that lined up with the, the direction that they wanted, made a good flanker of the original fragrance, which was the intent, but then still made it land to where it smelled like a part of the house.
Ryan:Yeah, it's really impressive, very impressive, as I always say, to double stamp this, but legit. I feel like this is more masculine, obviously, than the original Lamar, but it's not so much so that a that a lady couldn't wear this. I genuinely feel like this is a perfect unisex, but in a very dark way. Does that make sense?
Ryan:yeah, for sure, okay yeah, there's something special that's happening and actually let's cut to another clip from this interview yeah, so in this clip this is where we were talking to mo uh about the perfumer and this being their first one and how they kind of came about it and, honestly, how it came about being selected.
Moe:So roll that beautiful clip, todd part of, I think why it's such a well done fragrance from a student is because I think what he's learning he's implementing in the structure and the knowledge of how notes react with each other and how to get. I think part of that science is found in the creation. So it's really a science meets art and I think he wouldn't have embarked on that journey if he didn't know that he liked, you know he had that touch of art in creating fragrances. So I think that's where there's a little difference in the scent.
Ryan:It's because of that particular point all right, let's just kind of get into it now. You've heard all a couple clips here, but let's let's talk about the price and popularity. Price for 100 ml $260. Okay, not crazy. This is like standard niche pricing. Definitely, by the way, every time I'm about to read you the price and popularity, but I had to pass by the bottle. Briefly here, the bottle looks nuts. I love the bottle, yes.
Myke:It is slick and if you're patreon, you can go and listen to the full interview that we had with mo. You'll get to hear all different kinds of stuff.
Ryan:They talk about.
Ryan:They talk about that yeah, talk about the bottle design, but the popularity is a 3.93 out of 5 pretty decent. It's still fairly new, so there's not like a lot of votes in, but I just. It is a badass fragrance which also lends me to want to ask you, mike, you said it's a little bit of lamar, it's a little bit of four. Yeah, it's meat and happy in the middle. We both kind of can sense that it's unisex, right? Yeah, very to the best of your ability, if you could dial in, who do you think this suits the best? Like who's wearing this?
Myke:I wish we could get her on here. I know, is that what you're talking about? Yeah, we had planned to get a call from her.
Ryan:He's desperately going to try right now. Hello.
Laci:Hey Licky, Are you done going through the eisenhower tunnel? This isn't lucky, this is lacy oh hey, lacy, yes Is this, the Uneducated Idiot, the Elva Cologne podcast.
Moe:Wow, oh she's coming in swinging.
Laci:Hey, okay, I'm kidding. It's so good to hear from you guys.
Ryan:It's good to hear from you. You know this is your first appearance technically on the show, but not your first real appearance, and that's going to happen in the near future.
Laci:You're going to come by and see us, right yes, okay, if that includes that mexican movie you're always talking about oh la finca. Yeah, you're gonna get that, for sure, yeah all the things to talk about at that appearance. But today, what are we talking about?
Myke:We're talking about Lamar Noir, oh baby.
Ryan:Yeah, so you were an original Lamar fan, right? Yes, and since you are a Patreon, that's right, mike hooked you up with a decant.
Laci:Because I'm loyal and faithful.
Myke:Loyal and what I'm sorry you're cutting out.
Laci:Yeah it sounds like you got your windows down and you're at F-150. I am driving, but I'm a loyal and faithful Patreon member since the beginning.
Myke:Yes, you were one of the first ones. Yeah, that's true. You've been a longtime supporter of the podcast, even before patreon existed.
Ryan:I believe at one point you did buy us some coffees and it's always been my pure delight to watch mike get angry. When you want to call and put it on speakerphone so that you can talk to me yeah, I just yeah.
Laci:I get to work with him, sometimes with the business, but I never get to have enough Ryan in my life, so I do like to talk on speaker sometimes and chat with him.
Myke:He's doing it now.
Ryan:He's doing it now.
Myke:I'm just the conduit for which your love for Ryan flows.
Laci:I mean, I'm probably not the only one on the podcast that feels that way, which is a little chuckle and wow okay, well, do I need to step? Out and let you guys have a moment but I will say that, yes, I do have the caviar. I have a few and I'm never disappointed comparing it, I guess, to the original lamar.
Ryan:What do you think about the Lamar Noir? Like the flanker of that?
Laci:Well, I definitely think that—flanker that's such a funny word. I do think it's like really—I do think it's really strong. Yeah, it has a lot of kick, which I love. I love a good, strong fragrance that leaves a trail behind me. That's my jam.
Ryan:Yes, ma'am.
Laci:So I do love that about it. I feel like the Lamar is more sweet. Where I feel like this one is more like. I don't know, I'm a big like I like to do seasonal fragrances, so I like a sweet for the summer, spring vibes, and then I feel like this one's a little more dark and moody and I like that for more fall and winter.
Myke:Oh, that's an interesting take because we typically think of like you would go sweeter for the colder months.
Ryan:But this dark and moody is where you want to go. Huh yeah, she's dark and she's moody.
Laci:Yeah, I like that in the fall and winter Because fall especially, that's when I best out my ombre leather, my lojon, a lot of the darker fragrances. But I do like summer, especially the Lamar. I really like the pineapple in the Lamar. It's my favorite.
Ryan:I've got to ask you this because I've said this in the episode as well, but does the original Lamar?
Laci:kind of remind you of Starburst candy a little bit. I've never thought of that, but I want to go home and smell it to see. But probably, yeah, I mean I can see that.
Ryan:I mean, I'm not cheaping it down, I don't think it smells amazing. It smells incredible, but it kind of reminds me of that.
Laci:I mean, who doesn't like Starburst Right? Starburst right I'm.
Myke:I can see that I'm more of a chocolate fan instead of like a hard candy fan yeah, I love it all actually.
Laci:Well, yeah, I don't know. I'll have to try it and see. I do have some left in my bottle, so I'll have to see.
Myke:If I saw that starburst, that's interesting so, overall, you want to give the listeners a skip it, a sample sample. It buy it. What do you think about this new Lamar Noir?
Laci:It does come across like ripped. I think that the dry down is super great and it like I said, it's one of my favorite things about all cajoles is they do have a longevity to wear a long time. I don't feel like they die down to nothing for a while. They do have a good longevity, which I that's what I look for when I'm getting a fragrance, so I do love that about all cajol fragrances that I've experienced so far. Hopefully I can have more someday, but I do like that. But I think the longevity is really good, so I would say it would be a buy it for me okay, hey, that's uh strong words from licky.
Myke:Oh my gosh, you don't want to be part of the icky trinity.
Laci:Oh, that is the dumbest thing, and I'm not wearing the same color shirt as them either. That is so true. Look what is this plan y'all have?
Ryan:Me and Mike. You're not one where two. Hey, me and Mike, embraced, having Y's in our name, it's true.
Myke:And wearing black shirts all the time. It's true, and wearing black shirts all the time.
Laci:Yeah, what the hell? I don't know. Ryan shirts have gotten a little crazy recently. They always get something crazy, okay.
Ryan:Real talk. That's like not what I wear normally it is, but it's shirts that. I love, but I never get a chance to wear because I feel like people would ostracize me out in real world. So I'm like I'll wear it on this damn show.
Laci:And you can't see it because there's a table in the way, but he wears clown shoes as well. Wait, what did you say? Clown shoes? Yeah oh my god yeah I knew it. I knew he were stretchy pants with clown shoes okay, lacy, it's.
Ryan:It's been good chatting with you.
Laci:Thank you for giving us all this detailed information yeah, I look forward to hearing from y'all again sometime okay, have a great day, all right y'all too bye-bye.
Ryan:Just smelling it now really quick and you're saying that? Am I crazy? It is like a smoky rose kind of thing going on. Yeah, absolutely, I'm genuinely like, trust me, it's been on air off, air over here.
Myke:I'm like for real, taken back by how different it's been after each drive, you know, and that kind of goes to fragrances in general. Yeah, you know, given your circumstance, situation, ambiance of wherever you're at, you know, fragrances smell different, yeah, on different people. And I mean, I told you about I helped a friend with their christmas minis and one of the guys comes in. It smells better than anybody that's walked in all day, yeah, and I was like man. I had to ask him. I was like, what are you wearing? Because I, you know, I'm big into smells and fragrances and I'm curious what your cologne is, because it smells so good. You remember what he said. I don't remember Sauvage, god. And look, and it generally smelled amazing. It smelled amazing. It did not smell like Sauvage either. It smelled crazy different on him and I was shocked. And so you know, it just depends on the situation and scenario, but I do feel like sometimes, you know, wherever you're at it brings out something different in the fragrance.
Ryan:Are you going to skip it?
Myke:sample it or buy it. What are you going to do, ryan?
Ryan:For right now I'm going to sample the hell out of it, one I have access to be able to.
Ryan:Yeah, you know the travel hell out of it, one I have access to be able to. You know the travel atomizer of it, which, by the way, you guys, seriously you guys are not ready for this travel atomizers. They are super nice and refillable. They're sick. I'm gonna sample this a lot more because I don't know if it's my vibe, but it does check off everything else that I like in a fragrance. It's stout, I will promise you this. Y'all know I'm not the pitch all beast mode shit, but this lasts a long fucking time, yeah it is a massively strong fragrance.
Ryan:We literally he wasn't joking. We got messed up with the weather. We started this recording. We sprayed this on the tester strip. When was that Wednesday or Thursday? Yeah, wednesday, Come back recording. We sprayed this on the tester strip. When was that Wednesday or Thursday? Yeah, wednesday, come back today. We're finishing this the day before the release, by the way. Yeah, sunday. And it's still very strong on the tester strip. Yeah, it's super loud. So it answers all that for me and it's not the. I mean I love how it smells. I just don't know if it's my thing right now. I mean, I love how it smells, I just don't know if it's my thing right now. So I'm going to sample it some more. But even during this recording I was telling him a little bit off air. I was just like man, this smells so different and it smells so good. Yeah, it just has this weird fringe thing going on with this sweet undertone. It's really sharp and I've already gotten compliments on it, like I said prior, but it's a hard sample to a possible buy right now.
Myke:Yeah, I think for me. In the interview I talked about layering this. I think this is a great fragrance, especially for a lady. If you're looking for something with some attitude, this is great. There's a sweetness to it. There's that kind of Lamar undertone to it. This is great. I's a sweetness to it. There's that kind of Lamar undertone to it. This is a great. I would recommend strong samples for the ladies.
Myke:For me, I've been layering this a lot with Lunarosa Carbon. I really like that. I've also been layering it with some stronger citruses type fragrances. I've done Wu Long Cha as well and I really like that vibe. I literally only do one spray, so my travel atomizer will last forever because it's it's so loud.
Myke:The day that we got this so before christmas, yeah, and we sprayed it I got some on my jacket. It's still on my jacket I I can still smell it. It's strong, it is so strong, so I really like it. I think it's fun like that. For me, this is such a strong fragrance. I have difficulty really going heavy on some strong fragrances, so I can't just do five or six sprays of this thing. It's really so loud, but the profile of it is incredible and I remember because this reminds me so much of kajal 4 when we were in milan. They let me smell it and I was telling the guys I was like please just go to the kajal booth and ask mo to smell, because at that time they hadn't even talked about them, they just had like bottles to kind of show some of the friends you know.
Myke:Yeah, and this is the, this is four this is four, which is very similar to this in like that leathery smoky, yeah, you know, woodsy sort of a thing, but with a heavier masculine lean. But I just remember loving it and I was like I want to wear fragrances like this because it to me it smells very sophisticated and I do very clean, very citrusy fragrances. So I need fragrances like this in my collection and I need to embrace them more, I think for me. I just don't want to be so loud with it, so I have to find ways to balance, yeah, like uh, kind of cut it down in a way, yeah and uh, and wearing different ways, but it's so great if you're into super loud, you got it in this one. This is a powerhouse of a fragrance absolutely, he is not kidding yeah, I think it's perfectly right down the middle.
Myke:Guys can wear this. They won't have any issues. Every time I've let a guy smell it, they've gone like whoa. That's a strong masculine fragrance. That's that leather, that's that woodsy smoky. Where the hell are?
Ryan:you showing this to people?
Myke:don't want to put them on blast, no damn that smells good. Well, one of them is uh is a friend, patreon, and his kiddos too, and they all were obsessed with this thing. And then, whenever I've showed ladies it's the opposite, they go wow, this is this beautiful, dark sort of mysterious female fragrance.
Ryan:Yeah. So, basically, you're just saying, all around, it's just a great unisex fragrance, absolutely Well, before we go, though, we should have teased this early on. Sorry, we are fucking terrible. They were the worst. Hey look we just went through Texas Winter Storm 2.0.
Myke:You're going to have to give us a little break. Snowmageddon yeah, literally got 17 snowflakes out there and they shut down schools, roads, everything.
Ryan:Yeah, that was the weirdest part. They shut down the school two days in a row. Yeah, and there was no reason.
Myke:There was no precipitation out here.
Ryan:We should have teased this a little earlier ago, but Kajal teased a little something interesting.
Myke:Yeah, as you do. At the end of the episode you ask hey, so what's coming up, what's the new future thing? And Mo hipped us to some pretty exciting news for Kajal and we're going to share with you what he said Future of Kajal.
Moe:So we have a very I don't know if it's innovative. We're one of the first. I'm not going to say we're the first, but we're coming up with a new idea subscription service.
Moe:Oh cool okay so I I thought we were the first people to do it, but then somebody told me no, there's another brand similar, but we're doing a twist on on what they're doing. We're having a subscription service where people can subscribe to kajal and it's going to be called the Kajal Immersive Scent Society. Okay, and every month we will release a fragrance that's exclusive for the Scent Society of Kajal, wow, and it'll tell a story. So we're developing a story of you know a story. So we're developing a story of you know, think, harry potter, slash, lord of the rings, okay, thousand and one nights and um, that combined, we're we're telling a story and the story will tell of, like, an adventure that we will carry through month to month. Yeah, it'll, uh, each month will release an elixir that's related to that story of that month.
Ryan:Are you saying only the people that are subscribing will get a chance to smell these fragrances?
Moe:The intention is to have the fragrances exclusive for the subscribers.
Ryan:Interesting. That will be fun, that will be, that's interesting.
Moe:I know it won't be big quantities, but it's just the opportunity to build something interesting, build that story and then maybe a year later, if we find that people are loving one of the fragrances, we release that as a you know, something permanent for the rest of the people to experience. But I love that idea. I'm enjoying creating that. We as a team, you know, we're really enjoying creating this and putting it together and I'm sure people will also enjoy it. Getting to know the story, getting to know the hero, how things pan out. I think it'll be an interesting thing. We're trying I mean, we don't know yet if it'll work.
Myke:Look, that's one thing. When you guys did the caviar, yeah, I was like this is such a neat way to do it, like I just feel like you guys are, you're going wild over there, you're, you're trying things. So that's what it's about. Like you said, like this immersive nature. You have people like us and I even consider us still to kind of be on the fringes of things, you know but there are people that are like just dying for this immersive experience of fragrances, more than just smelling decent, you know, at a barbecue or something like people want to. They want the story and they crave it. They look at it as art and they look at it as an experience and they want that type of thing. I love you guys are doing that. I think this is important for the space to push the art form forward and make it less of just like a, a product on a shelf.
Moe:Yeah, hopefully we'll have something soon. We're working very hard to to make it happen and as soon as we do, I'm I'll be glad to share it with you guys and and maybe again have something for the Patreons. And if you're not a Patreon, you know what you have to do.
Myke:Mo always look it up for us. I love this guy. You're the best Mo.
Ryan:One day, mo, he'll sedate me with some horse tranquilizers and I'll be able to make it over to Italy or something. But seriously, thank you so much for again coming on the show. Thank you for caring so much about this podcast. I don't know if a lot of people know it in the lore of this podcast, but Mo has seriously been with this podcast from the beginning.
Myke:Absolutely, the very beginning was buying us coffees back when we, you know, buy me a coffee. You're a part of our Patreon group You've, you know, you've opened up the door three years in a row for me. Possibly Ryan, if he'd ever get his stuff together to experience Italy you know I've said it multiple times, but it really in the course of this podcast, that alone I will never forget that. I'll never forget the generosity of you guys opening the door for me. For that. It expanded who I was as a person. It was a life-changing thing and I very much mean that.
Myke:That's not like exaggeration. It made me better as a human and I want people to experience that sort of a thing, Like you said, getting out in a new country and experiencing it, walking around, to be in tune with all these different types of people, these different cultures, these experiences in the world. Because you guys take that and you bottle that up and then you give that out to people as an experience and you kind of have to have that. You can't be stuck like Ryan. He's only going to experience East Texas for the rest of his life. You got to get out there. You, you open the door for that and, like I said, I'm forever changed, I'm forever grateful.
Moe:Yeah, thank you. Thank you, it means a lot. It's really an honor to have met you and, you know, hopefully we'll meet Ryan too, and we're glad to have this and what you're doing in our lives because it also brings joy and happiness to not only me, but I'm sure a lot of people around that listen to your podcast and you know it's interesting, it's nice, and keep doing what you're doing because it's amazing too. So thank you so much.
Ryan:We appreciate that, mo, and until next time. Come on, mo, spray it up y'all.
