Apostolic Mentoring
The Power of Communication / O Poder da Comunicação ... English & Portuguese
The journey from reaching millions to impacting billions requires mastering three foundational keys—and today we're tackling the third vital element: effective communication.
Without communication, there can be no end-time revival. Those resistant to clear, purposeful communication reveal a heart not truly hungry for the move of God. When we communicate effectively, we build bridges, foster unity, and accomplish shared vision. But poor communication inevitably sows discord, creates misunderstanding, and derails kingdom purpose.
Scripture provides powerful examples of communication development. Moses initially protested his inability to speak well, yet God reminded him who created his mouth and would empower his words. Paul learned to speak effectively to every audience without compromising truth. Jesus, the master communicator, conveyed profound truths through simple parables that simultaneously revealed mysteries to the hungry and concealed them from the spiritually blind.
To become effective kingdom communicators, we must surround ourselves with those who speak with faith and clarity. Your inner circle determines your capacity—those around you will amplify whatever they are within themselves. Pray prophetically for wisdom, resist the urge to rush your words, be quick to listen and slow to speak, check your motives, and wait for divine timing. As James reminds us, "Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath."
As we prepare to release our upcoming book, "The Partnership of Faith: The Power of Collaboration, Cooperation and Communication," remember that excellence in these three areas is what God desires for His end-time church. We cannot progress from millions to billions while practicing poor communication principles. What voices are at your table? Who shapes your communication? The answers to these questions will determine your kingdom impact.
We love to hear from our listeners! Thank you!

Speaker 1:Last week I was in the nation of Great Britain in the United Kingdom and I had the privilege of being a part of the Central District Conference, the opportunity to serve Bishop Freider and the National Board there in the Central District. I give honor to all of those ministers in Great Britain. What a tremendous move of God we had.
Speaker 2:But I want to give honor to Bishop Freider and her leadership in that district.
Speaker 1:It was quite amazing.
Speaker 2:They intentionally planned to train on the gifts of the Spirit.
Speaker 1:It's one of the few places I've been in this world where they are intentionally training in the gifts of the Spirit.
Speaker 2:And those sessions in that district were so powerful.
Speaker 1:And I'm going to try to see if there was any online services for those meetings and, if so, I'll share with you some of those teachings on the gifts of the Spirit, because they were so edifying and equipping E eu vou buscar para ver se está online.
Speaker 1:This week we are here in the nation of Ethiopia.
Speaker 2:Essa semana estamos aqui na nação da Etiópia, here in the nation of Ethiopia, but this week we are here in the nation of Ethiopia.
Speaker 1:It's been 23 years since we have been boots on the ground in Ethiopia.
Speaker 2:It's been 23 years since we've been here.
Speaker 1:We are so excited about what God is going to do this week in this nation.
Speaker 1:And I want to ask all of our global apostolic mentoring family to join us in prayer.
Speaker 2:In prayer. Activate the intercessors in your churches and your areas.
Speaker 1:And please pray prophetically with us for an unprecedented outpouring of the Holy Ghost and miracles in this land. The team is boarding a flight tomorrow at noon to the town of Roassa.
Speaker 1:And we will be arriving there around 1 pm tomorrow afternoon.
Speaker 1:And our crusade services will begin on Friday at about 10 am. So we would be so grateful if this great global apostolic mentoring family would just partner in faith with us and in prayer this week and believing God for a great outpouring of the Spirit.
Speaker 2:And we will be very honored if you join us in prayer and make a standing partnership for this crusade.
Speaker 1:We actually just had our very first crusade team prayer meeting right here in my hotel room prayer meeting right here in my hotel room. And I want to give honor to the Crusade team that's come from Canada and North America to serve the nation of Ethiopia.
Speaker 2:Just a great apostolic team and a great partnership of faith.
Speaker 1:And I'm so just humbled by the sacrifice of all of these 10 team members that are with us.
Speaker 1:But I'm so excited to be with you on Apostolic Mentoring today. We've spent most of this year discussing how we can move into millions and billions.
Speaker 1:The last three weeks we've been talking about collaboration and cooperation.
Speaker 2:Nas últimas três semanas, nós temos falado sobre colaboração e cooperação.
Speaker 1:Critical keys to stepping into a harvest of billions.
Speaker 2:Que são chaves necessárias para nós. Entrarmos em uma colheita de bilhões.
Speaker 1:But today I want to talk about a third key.
But today I want to talk about a third key. It is impossible to have in-time revival without effective communication.
Speaker 1:Communication is the cornerstoneicações humanas.
Speaker 1:People who don't want to communicate, don't want to work together, pessoas que não querem se relacionar, se comunicar, não querem trabalhar juntas.
Speaker 2:When you're talking about pursuing prophetic acceleration, Quando você fala sobre buscar uma aceleração profética, quando você fala sobre buscar uma aceleração profética, if you're hungry for prophetic multiplication of gifts, offices and ministries. Se você está buscando uma aceleração em dons, ofícios e ministérios, then you must be committed to being a communicator, então você tem que estar disposto a ser um comunicador.
Speaker 1:When we communicate effectively.
Speaker 2:Se você estiver a comunicar efetivamente.
Speaker 1:We build bridges.
Speaker 2:Nós vamos construir pontes.
Speaker 1:We foster unity.
Speaker 2:Nós vamos acelerar a união.
Speaker 1:We ignite and accomplish a shared vision.
Speaker 2:Nós vamos conseguir compartilhar visão.
Speaker 1:But when we isolate ourselves.
Speaker 2:Mas quando nós nos isolamos?
Speaker 1:When we have to work alone.
Speaker 2:Quando nós trabalhamos sozinhos.
Speaker 1:When, if the smoke isn't coming from my chimney, there is no fire, when we're not committed to communication or when we are paralyzed with a pattern of poor communication. Poor communication always sows discord. If you're dealing with a discord situation, you are dealing with somebody who doesn't want to communicate. Poor communication breeds misunderstanding breeds misunderstanding. A poor communication will derail every kingdom vision. We must be intentional about educating ourselves and becoming effective communicators. And here's the facts about communication Communication is a learned skill.
Speaker 2:Communication is a learned skill. Every man, every woman and every child can learn to communicate. If we want to operate in the power of the kingdom, If we want to be effective in this last hour of the church, we must learn to communicate with clarity with authority with submission to the spirit, with mutual respect with honor and with grace. Communication is a skill Com honra e com graça.
Speaker 2:Moses was a leader who had to learn to communicate. In Exodus, chapter 4 and verse 10, we see his communication problems on full display. Moses is in a conversation with the Lord and he tells the Lord.
Speaker 1:I am not eloquent.
Speaker 2:He tells the Lord I'm slow of speech. He says I've got a slow tongue.
Speaker 1:Moses did not start out as a great communicator.
He said Lord, I cannot speak well. Ele disse Senhor, eu não consigo falar bem.
Speaker 1:But I love the response of the Lord, Mas eu amo a resposta que o Senhor deu aqui. The response of the Lord, the response of the Lord to a person who felt like they could not be a communicator was this In verse 11, the Lord said who made your mouth? God said Moses, you didn't make your own mouth.
Speaker 2:God said Moses, you didn't make your own mouth.
Speaker 1:I made your mouth. I am the creator, he said. I'm the one who made your mouth and I can anoint you to do and to accomplish the task that I've called you to do. Moses had to learn to lead. He had to learn to declare God's word. He had to learn to speak boldly. But he wasn't the only person who had to learn to communicate. I would say that Paul Paul mastered the art of communication. I love what he said in 1 Corinthians 9, verse 22. He says, he says, he says 9 verse 1 Corinthians 9, verse 22.
Speaker 1:Verse 22 says this he said, I learned to speak to every different group of people. Paul knew how to speak to kings. He spoke to King Agrippa in Acts chapter 26. Paul stood on Mars Hill in Acts chapter 17 and addressed scholars in the salt of the earth.
Speaker 1:Let me just say this out loud Deixa eu falar bem claro aqui you don't have to compromise the truth to have revival. You don't have to compromise holiness. You don't have to compromise the oneness of God. This world is desperate for the real thing.
Speaker 1:All we have to do is hold the line.
Speaker 2:Tudo que nós temos que fazer é permanecer.
Speaker 1:If you keep preaching the truth. Se você continuar pregando a verdade If you keep holding on to the faith.
Speaker 2:Se você manter a fé.
Speaker 1:God will give you great revival.
Speaker 2:Deus vai lhe dar um grande avivamento.
Speaker 1:Jesus was a master communicator.
Speaker 2:Jesus era um mestre da comunicação.
Speaker 1:Jesus spoke with clarity power revelation.
Speaker 2:Jesus used parables to convey profound truths in a simple way.
Speaker 1:He used parables to unveil hidden mysteries to those who were hungry and desperate.
Speaker 2:He also used parables to distinguish the spiritually sensitive from those who were blind. Jesus would use questions to provoke thought. He spoke with authority to command demons and sicknesses to stop and tracks If Jesus was a master communicator if. Paul trained himself to speak to kings and scholars and the salt of the earth, if Moses had to learn to be a leader and to communicate the word of God.
Speaker 1:In this hour of the church, it is so important for us to make communication a priority in our ministries. If you're a poor communicator, you will not get the kingdom work accomplished.
Speaker 1:I want to help you today to develop your communication skills.
Speaker 1:The first point that I want to share with you is this.
Speaker 1:Everybody who wants to be a great communicator.
Speaker 1:Must submit themselves to a communication mentor.
Speaker 2:I'm on a journey myself. I want to be a better communicator. I realize that none of you believe this, but I am a natural introvert.
Speaker 1:My translator just defied me.
Speaker 2:He was in shock, but I am an introvert by nature. When I was growing up, I had personal insecurities that just weighed on my ability to communicate effectively and in those formative years of my life in ministry I didn't really have great communicators around me, but I remember when God gave me a communication mentor in a season where I desperately needed it. In 2009, I was elected as the president of the work of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
Speaker 1:And I would be the first to tell you that I don't think that I had communication figured out when I got elected.
Speaker 2:But the Lord brought into my life Brother Woodward.
Speaker 1:A phenomenal communicator. When I got connected with Brother Woodward, he became a voice in my life when it came to communicating with leaders.
Speaker 2:When he arrived. When he arrived, he became a mentor for me In relation to speaking with leaders.
Speaker 1:As a matter of fact, for those whole years from 2009 to 2021, when I became the superintendent in those nations. Brother Woodward would personally read and go through every single email that I was going to send. It was so important. He would read through these emails and I'd send him what I was going to tell the pastors and he would send me back and say no, no, no, don't say that.
Speaker 2:But for a decade plus, I have submitted my communication to a man that was an excellently anointed communicator. I would tell every single one of you that's on this call today If you want to be a great communicator, you got to get great communicators in your life. It's so important to surround yourself with people that can help you to articulate the kingdom purpose.
Speaker 1:Surrounding yourself with great communicators is critical.
Speaker 2:Se envolver com comunicadores é importante.
Speaker 1:I was reading yesterday in Proverbs 13 and 20.
Speaker 2:Ontem eu estava lendo em Proverbos 13, versículo 20.
Speaker 1:It says he that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Speaker 1:A companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Speaker 2:Your circle determines your capacity. If you are surrounded by kingdom people who communicate faith, vision and clarity, you will rise to that same level. But if you surround yourself with negativity and confusion and doubt with negativity and confusion and doubt, your God-sized potential will never be achieved.
Speaker 1:Your inner circle will amplify whatever they are.
Speaker 1:It will amplify in you and amplify in them.
Speaker 2:Vai amplificar neles e vai amplificar em você.
Speaker 1:Moses struggled with communication.
Speaker 2:Moisés teve dificuldades de comunicação.
Speaker 1:But God placed Aaron in his life to speak for him. This is the importance of surrounding yourself with people who can communicate. You need to surround yourself with faith-filled speech. In Numbers, chapter 14, we see the whole story unfolding with Joshua and Caleb and Caleb.
Speaker 2:In Numbers 14 we see all that story being revealed by Joshua and Caleb.
Speaker 1:They searched out the promised land. They spoke to the children of Israel. Their faith was so strong. The land is exceedingly good. The Lord will delight in us. The Lord will bring us into the land. The Lord will give us everything he has promised. The land does flow with milk and honey. They were speaking faith, but ten spies changed the narrative. They spoke fear and unbelief. And this is what I'm saying. You got to choose what group you're going to be in.
Speaker 2:This is what I'm saying. You got to choose what group you're going to be in Isso que eu estou falando.
Speaker 1:The faith of Joshua and Caleb shaped the destiny of an entire generation.
Speaker 1:If you let fearful voices in your life, you will live below your calling.
Speaker 2:Se você deixar vozes menores, if you let fearful voices in your life, you will live below your calling.
Speaker 1:But if you surround yourself with people who believe that God is, able to exceed abundantly.
Speaker 2:above all that we ask or think, they will amplify your desire for the kingdom. That partnership of faith will remove every ceiling. It will take down every limitation. It is so important to surround yourself with people of faith.
Speaker 1:You need to surround yourself with those who live and speak boldness.
Speaker 1:I looked at Acts, chapter 4 and verse 13.
Speaker 2:Atos, capítulo 4, versículo 13.
Speaker 1:The Bible said that when they saw the boldness of Peter and John.
Speaker 1:They knew that they had been with Jesus.
Speaker 1:Peter and John were filled with a supernatural boldness. The people you surround yourself with Will determine whether you operate in timidity or whether you operate in authority.
Speaker 1:If you want to speak with apostolic power, se você quiser falar com autoridade apostólica? You need to surround yourself with people who walk after the power of the Spirit. If you surround yourself with anointed leaders, you will grow in anointing. If you seat faith-filled voices at your table, you will walk in victory. If you make your company people that are bold and apostolic communicators.
Speaker 2:Se você colocar andar com pessoas que são ousadas e comunicadores apostólicos, you will speak with authority.
Speaker 1:Você vai falar com autoridade, but if you surround yourself with negative voices, you will operate in doubt.
If you fellowship with people who are confused your vision will be unclear.
Speaker 1:You break bread with the fearful.
Speaker 2:Your words will lack power. Break bread with the fearful. Você vai compartilhar pão com o medroso.
Speaker 1:Your words will lack power. Suas palavras não vão ter poder If you want to be radically apostolic.
Speaker 2:Se você quiser ser radicalmente apostólico.
Speaker 1:You must surround yourself with people who communicate faith.
Speaker 2:Você precisa colocar pessoas que comunicam fé na sua volta yourself with people who communicate faith People who communicate with clarity.
Speaker 1:And people who communicate with kingdom authority. My pastor preached a message.
Speaker 2:Because of the times, Meu pastor pregou uma mensagem Num evento chamado. Because of the times.
Speaker 1:You should go look for it on YouTube.
Speaker 2:Você deve procurar essa mensagem lá no YouTube.
Speaker 1:But he preached a message that was called who's at your table?
Speaker 1:One of the greatest, a message that was called. Who's at your Table?
Speaker 2:One of the greatest, greatest messages.
Speaker 1:Who's at your Table determines what you're going to become in the kingdom. I want to challenge you right now. It's time to level up your relationships. Some of you are hanging out with people that are not edifying, strengthening, developing, encouraging you.
Speaker 2:You ought to level up your relationships. You don't have to be rude. You can just start including faith people into your group, and people that don't want faith don't stay long.
Speaker 1:Birds of a feather flock together. People that are similar hang out together. You've got to level up your relationships if you want to level up your ministry. If you want to develop in kingdom areas that you're not developed in right now level up your relationships.
Speaker 2:Another way that you can help yourself become a better communicator is pray prophetically for wisdom in communication.
Speaker 1:Pray prophetically that God will help you articulate his kingdom words better.
Speaker 2:É a hora, profeticamente, que Deus vai te ajudar a articular as palavras do reino melhor.
Speaker 1:Let the words of my mouth be acceptable unto you, O God.
Speaker 2:Que as palavras da minha boca venham ser aceitáveis a ti, ó Deus.
Speaker 1:I prophesy wisdom in communication, A prophesy wisdom in articulation. James 1 and 5,. He said if you lack wisdom, ask God.
Speaker 2:James 1 and 5,. He said if you lack wisdom, ask God. He said he will give to all men liberally. He said it shall be given to you. You've got to pray prophetically for wisdom. God, I prophesy wisdom in my mind.
Speaker 1:I prophesy wisdom in my heart. I prophesy wisdom in my words.
Speaker 2:It is so important when you're dealing with the kingdom that you communicate effectively. Another point that will help you be a better communicator Don't rush to communicate anything.
Speaker 1:Some old singer wrote a song. The statement in one of the lyrics is that fools rush in where angels fear to tread. I was thinking the other night about Luke, chapter 16.
Speaker 2:chapter 16. Eu estava pensando, meditando, em Lucas, capítulo 16.
Speaker 1:In verse 8, where the Bible said in that latter portion, for the children of this world are, in their generation, wiser than the children of men.
Speaker 1:How crazy is that? That some rock music singer knows that it's fools that rush in.
Speaker 2:And yet the children of God are always in such a hurry to say what needs to be said and to put out this message.
Speaker 1:God forbid that we rush into harmful communication Que nós não venhamos entrar em comunicação errada. God forbid that we rush in to send in a text message that causes damage, que nós não venhamos mandar uma mensagem de texto que venha a causar dano. God forbid that we rush in to send in an email or some social media post that hurts the heart of another believer.
Only a fool rushes in a social media or send an email that will cause damage to someone. Only a fool rushes in. Only a fool runs and rushes.
Speaker 1:If you want your words to carry divine weight, you've got to slow down and hear from God before you speak.
Speaker 2:If you want your words to have a divine weight, wait.
Speaker 1:Apostolic voices don't merely speak.
Speaker 2:Vozes apostólicas, não simplesmente saem falando.
Speaker 1:Apostolic voices unveil revelation.
Speaker 2:Vozes apostólicas rebelam.
Speaker 1:trazem revelação and revelation emerges from waiting on the Spirit.
Speaker 2:E a revelação ela surge no esperar do.
Speaker 1:Espírito. Revelation doesn't come from reacting in the flesh.
Speaker 1:Look what Proverbs 29 and 20 says.
Speaker 2:Olha, o que Proverbs 29 and 20 says, ó o que Proverbios 29 e 20 diz.
Speaker 1:It says Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words. There is more hope of a fool than for him.
Speaker 1:Apostolic wisdom advises you to pause to pray and then speak If you communicate too quickly. You communicate out of emotion instead of anointing. You communicate out of reaction instead of revelation. You communicate with impulse instead of instruction.
Speaker 2:Communicate with impulse instead of instruction. My former pastor, Brother Nix, used to say this Don't respond to anyone or anything without three days of prayer.
Speaker 1:Wait for the Spirit to speak before you open your mouth. That's why in Luke, chapter 12 and verse 12. The Bible said for the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you should say.
Speaker 1:We don't need to communicate with emotion. We need to communicate with anointing.
Nós need to communicate with anointing.
Speaker 1:We don't need to react on social media.
Speaker 2:We need to operate with revelation. We need to move from impulse to spirit-led instruction.
Speaker 1:An apostolic communicator does not speak from human intellect, but from divine, divine inspiration.
Speaker 2:Another point to help you be a better communicator Be slow to speak and quick to listen.
Speaker 1:This is what James chapter 1 and verse 19 says.
Speaker 1:He said wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
Speaker 2:Você sabe essas coisas. Meus amados irmãos, Cada um esteja pronto para ouvir, mas seja tardio para falar If you speak too soon, se você falar muito rapidamente.
Speaker 1:You speak from assumption, not revelation.
Speaker 1:The greatest communicators listen first.
Speaker 2:Os maiores comunicadores escutam primeiro.
Speaker 1:They listen to what the Spirit is saying.
Speaker 1:Then they speak under the anointing of the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 1:If you rush to speak, you will regret it.
Speaker 1:But if you wait on the Lord, Mas se você esperar no Senhor, your words will carry life-changing and ministry-shaping authority. Another point that will help you be a great communicator Check your motives before you speak. Proverbs 15 and 28 says this the heart of the righteous study it to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
Speaker 1:Righteous leaders think before they speak.
Speaker 1:Righteous leaders search their heart before they speak.
Speaker 1:Apostolic voices should not be driven by emotion.
Speaker 1:Apostolic voices shouldn't be driven by frustration or pressure.
Speaker 1:Apostolic voices are driven by the Spirit of the Lord.
Speaker 1:Don't let pressure force you to speak before God has given you a word.
Speaker 2:Não deixe a pressão forçar você a falar sem antes Deus te dar uma palavra.
Speaker 1:Another point that you need to consider.
Speaker 2:Outro ponto que você deve considerar.
Speaker 1:Wait for the right timing. Espere o tempo certo. Wait for the right timing. Not everything you think to say needs to be said right now. You're still there, Brother Borges. You still there, Brother Borges.
Speaker 2:Even the right words at the right time can cause great damage. The Bible said in Ecclesiastes 3 and 7. A Bíblia diz em Ecclesiastes 3, 7.
Speaker 1:There is a time to keep silent and a time to speak.
