The Heart Attack Thriver Podcast
The sharing of stories is often underrated in the healing journey after a heart attack or any near death experience for that matter. I will be using this platform to provide a place where people who have had an “Event of the Heart” can share their stories and continue to heal themselves. I believe we all have medicine on our hearts and that our stories are the medicine that someone out there needs to receive. I will also be talking with medical experts, health care providers, dietitians, as well as holistic practitioners about yoga, meditation and breath-work and how they can all help to prevent stress and anxiety and ultimately Cardiovascular Dis-Ease.
The Heart Attack Thriver Podcast
Septuagenarian, Dr. Akil Taher shares his personal journey from Cardiovasular Disease to health and wellness and how living a fully plant based Vegan lifestyle not only improved his overall health, it also cured several chronic ailments
On this weeks Episode I’m honored to share the conversation I had with Dr. Akil Taher who is still a practicing physician and who in 2009 at the age of 61 discovered he had cardiovascular disease that would require cardiac bypass surgery!
Incredibly only a year later he ran his first full marathon and followed it up a year later by climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro!
Dr. Taher now lives a fully plant-based vegan lifestyle and has used his experience to educate thousands by helping them understand there is a way out of the grips of chronic illness and disease. Dr. Taher believes that what you eat is the most important pillar of the 6 pillars of Lifestyle medicine.
