Speaker 1:

Hey, proven Not Perfect. Look, I'm about to share with you a podcast, one of the Proven Not Perfect in Brief podcasts. This one is on focus on what is light and darkness, but let me just tell you this, okay. So you're going to hear a hum in the background that is absolutely constant, both right now and in the podcast. I'm going to tell you what's going on. I am in the middle of a post storm situation here where you know, I'm leaning into some cool things that I hear trending, like um, cold showers, like um, let's see cool breezes versus air conditioning like no power yeah, that part. So you know, when the spirit moves me and it's time to talk, it's time to do the podcast. It's a ministry. I'm doing it. I did it. But as I listened back, I heard the home and I was like I wonder how many people are going to be like what is that home? What is going on? Not so sure. So now you know, all right, here you go, enjoy.

Speaker 1:

Hey, proven Not Perfect. So I need to check in and see how y'all are doing, how you're living, especially if you are in areas that, over the last couple of weeks of September and October, have been vulnerable to massive storms. I am hoping that you are well and blessed and, quite frankly, taking the time to appreciate all that is, and so that's actually what I wanted to get on here and talk about. I want to talk about all that is because it is so easy for us to over index on what isn't, and I'm assuming that that's just an innate quality of kind of who we are as human beings. But there's a way to pivot our thinking to all that is, and you might call it a hokey exercise or you might call it a really smart tool, but for me, when things are massively going on around me and I have no control, I really, really, really like to center myself, to center myself, and in centering myself I try to focus on all that is, and I start with God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit in my life, and that immediately gives me the calm that I need to take the next step of the exercise, and then next I start to reflect upon all that they have presented to me, even in the midst of so much stuff going on around me. All that is so you know, if we over index on the external things, we drive ourselves completely batty and we allow ourselves to get to a place of dis ease. And when we get to that place of dis-ease without the medicine to calm us down, we are vulnerable to all the effects of the enemy All of them. And you know what that is Dis-ease.

Speaker 1:

Instead of thinking about the things that are not, let's start to think about and focus on the things that are so. First thing is ability to use my eyes to see around me. I take in everything that I see and I appreciate each and everything for what it is, and I literally mean that the picture on the wall, the rug on the floor, the rock, the rock outside my window, the blade of grass, the tree, the sky, no matter how clear or how cloudy it is. I just take it in for what it is and I appreciate it for what it is, and I allow my mind to spend time just celebrating the things that are. Then it's time to move on to recovery and acknowledgement that maybe things aren't exactly the way that I want them to be, but they are exactly as they are intended to be for me at this moment. Otherwise it wouldn't be so, because it's exactly as it's intended to be for me at this very moment. What can I receive in it? How am I feeling about how I'm showing up? How am I feeling about who I've become and who I'm becoming? How do I feel about my purpose, my intention, how do I feel about moving forward, fully equipped to do so with increased wisdom, increased knowledge, increased understanding? This is kind of what I call that recovery zone.

Speaker 1:

And then the last piece, I'm going to call that renewed. That's what we are Once we accept things for what they are. We accept what is and we don't look for what is not. We allow ourselves to reflect and receive the lessons that are right before us and deeply within us, and then we reemerge in this renewal of opening up for what's next. And, trust me, when you take the time to just accept everything, let it go and open up. New things flush in like a river. You see things you never saw before, you hear things you never heard before and you invite new creative ideas and you level set your energy.

Speaker 1:

So usually I like to give you a scripture word, especially when I'm doing sort of a ramble like this. This is so. I'm going to see if I can give you a scripture word that kind of coincides with the ramble that you're hearing me do right now. Let's see, I am going to take it all the way back to the beginning, and this scripture word is found in Genesis and I'm going to, like I said, I'm going to take it all the way back to the beginning, like literal, like literal the beginning.

Speaker 1:

In the beginning, god created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face and the earth, the earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said Let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. Ooh, that was Genesis 1, verses 1 through 4. So all that that I talked about resetting, recovering and renewing gets us right back to the light that is separated from the darkness that can seek to envelop us and surround us when things feel really heavy and really tough and really hard. How do we separate ourselves from that? Separating the light from the darkness goes back to anchoring ourselves on whose we are. Period, that's it, guys. Go be the light. Proven that perfect Peace.
