CAROLYN J. EICHNER teaches in the Departments of History and Women's & Gender Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Her books include Surmounting the Barricades: Women in the Paris Commune, The Paris Commune: A Brief History,  and Feminism's Empire.  We discuss the legacy of women in the Paris Commune, the context of the commune, the under-reported and under-studied nature of socialist feminism, etc.
