Hi, I am Kristy Ballard Fellini. I am a certified life coach who found herself at 42, freshly divorced kids off to college, and having never dated in my adult life. I was starting in the middle. If you haven't yet hit, start on your middle time in life, let's do it together. Let the journey begin.
Kristi:Hello, hello, hello, hey y'all, happy October and welcome back to the podcast. Okay, I have got to be super real with you. Okay, because this was not the podcast that was supposed to drop today. In fact, the podcast that was supposed to drop today I actually pushed out until next week. Okay, so please, next week, when you are hearing again a welcome to October, just overlook that. Okay, because I had such an intuitive hit today that I was like, okay, there is no way that I cannot share this with them and it has to be next, it has to be the next thing that drops, because I was so super inspired today that I just have to share it with you. Okay, because my goal as a coach is to inspire other women to create a life for themselves that they absolutely love, to know that, yes, it is possible to create a life that you love, that you no longer have to sit back and wait for life to happen. And so when I came across this message, when, like I said, when I had this intuitive hit today, I thought I've got to share this, and I've got to share it now, okay, because this is super, super timely. So, again, I super appreciate you being flexible in that next week, when you hear me say that my birthday is this week, just please just let that pass by, because, yes, it has already happened.
Kristi:But what I do want to tell you all is that 50 for sure has been a huge year for me. It has been a year of amazing growth in my business and it has been a year of amazing growth within myself. But what I do want to say is that the growth should never be over. In fact, your personal growth should never stop. In fact, the episode that I did push back is going to talk to you about what happens when you allow the personal growth to stop, because it is so important to continue to grow personally. So I tell you what it must be divine intervention that this episode needed to happen before that one. So are you ready for this? Like, are you buckled in? Because this idea, this inspiration, just came to me today, and when I really started diving into it, I was so excited and I started to think about all the ways that I needed to share this with you. Y'all remember that my mission is to positively impact other women. My deep desire is that every woman truly sees her potential and begins to grow the courage to go after what she actually wants out of her life.
Kristi:There were way too many years that I myself ambled through my own life and the direction that it was going was all about my family, the sports my kids played, them getting good grades. What college will they go to? Are they leading a happy life? Who are the people influencing them? Planning our next family vacation? Oh, and on top of this, yes, I did have a full-time teaching degree. So, like many of you, once that part of your life has passed, once they are begging you, mom, please just start concentrating on yourself. Get your own life.
Kristi:I felt lost at this point in my life. Once they were off doing their own thing, I felt lonely. I started asking questions like does my life have meaning? Do I have a purpose? Y'all, this is exactly why I do what I do. This is why I became a coach, because right alongside you. I'm figuring out all of the answers to these questions. You see, I've done a lot of work for myself to give me that direction. I've done a lot of work for myself to stop getting stuck in the pitfalls of staying stagnant. I've done a lot of healing around the traumas that once held me back from speaking my truth and truly believing in myself and the gifts that God has given me. This is exactly how I know that I can help you.
Kristi:Okay so, a couple of podcasts back. I talked to you about trusting your inner wisdom, about trusting that you have all the answers inside of you. So if you learn to listen, you learn what your next best decision really is. And this is exactly where this next idea came from. Okay so, along with my faith in God and the fact that God truly gives us exactly what we need when we need it, okay so today I was listening to a podcast and my intuition hit, just jumped off the radar, like everything inside me said this is exactly what you need. You need to do this and you need to figure out how to share it with your community. So, three months ago. I'm going to take it back just a bit, because I believe that this is evidence that I'm on the right track.
Kristi:Three months ago, I attended a business workshop and it was all about planning your business strategies and goals in terms of quarters. So we got this big map that we could post on the wall as a visual of what we wanted to accomplish and all of the tasks that it was going to take to help us reach the quarterly goals. Okay, the icing on the cake was that at the end of the day, we wrote a letter to ourselves from our future 90-day self. Okay. So inside the letter you congratulated her for all that she had accomplished. You got super specific, using the tasks that you actually put in on that 90-day calendar as markers to celebrate a job well done. And then the company that I did this workshop with sent us the letter at the end of the quarter. It was so cool Y'all. When I got this letter, I was so impressed with myself. I must say that I actually had completed all of the tasks Like I had done them all in that 90-day span, and the ones where I did not see a hundred percent traction actually had Significant gains. Okay, so I was able to see this as a win for myself, and so, again.
Kristi:I want to offer this to you. I want to tell you the story because the evidence is there for me, okay that when you set a quarterly goal and you focus on those tasks, in the end the amount of gain that you have actually accumulated for yourself is so amazing and so rewarding. So why am I sharing this with you? Because it fits perfectly With what I'm going to propose to you today and, like I said, it solidifies in my mind that, yes, this can work, because I already have the evidence, so I don't have to grapple in my mind with. Is this gonna work? Can I do this? Will I follow through? Yeah, this means all the negative BS that my mind is going to bring up for me to fight me. That this can work. Sorry, even one right, so you have to go there.
Kristi:So here's what came out of the podcast that I listened to today and the need to get this out to you now rather than later. What if you focused the next 90 days on you, just like? What if you really looked inside of yourself at one area that you have been wanting to improve your health, your relationships, your relationship with you, your finances? What if you choose one goal and committed to focusing on that one area for the next 90 days. Like y'all, for real, I was not kidding when I said this is exactly what I did In my business, and it came to mind that this may be exactly what I need right now and exactly what you need to.
Kristi:Here's why the busiest time of the year is right around the corner. It's also the most stressful time of the year. If ever there was a time when you feel like you are less than okay, maybe that's bikini season for most of you, but if there's any time when you feel less than, I'd be willing to bet that it's around the holidays. It's. How am I gonna please everybody? Will my family actually be around for us to enjoy family time together? Is that one relative going to make it uncomfortable for everyone else? How can I make it meaningful without breaking the bank? And still, how do we navigate this split family situation?
Kristi:Okay, these are all of the thoughts that are coming up in my brain when I think about the holidays. But, friend, what if you decided ahead of time to concentrate on you and a goal that you have been wanting to attain that makes all of those things so much easier to navigate? Like what if October was actually the springboard for practicing your resilience, so that you are more relaxed this holiday season? So what I'm envisioning is no unmet expectations, no hustle and bustle, making things simple and manageable so that I can actually enjoy what this part of the year and this season actually is supposed to be about, and making it more meaningful for me. So here's what's popping up for me when we talk about focusing on ourselves for the next 90 days, because you may be thinking okay, how is my weight loss goal going to give me more peace at the holidays? Well, the entire month of October is going to be about setting this in motion and fine tuning the things that need to happen to help you achieve your goals, so that when November comes around, you will be practiced and December you'll be nailing it, rather than having no plan in place and being facedown in the pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving day. Or maybe these next three months are the fine tuning that you need to start January 1st with guns blazing. Nonetheless, starting in October is gonna give you the data you need to fine tune and get yourself settled into a routine Before the holidays actually do come around.
Kristi:Talk about getting your finances under control. Getting your finances under control in the 90-day goal. Hello, what's speaking to me is not impulse spending or overspending this holiday season, and I'm not even sure if I have to share with you the benefits of what will happen if you choose Relationships as your goals. But what I do know is that when you choose relationships, it helps you so much with how you relate to the other people that you are In relationships with. We're talking your friends, your family, your children, your siblings. All of those relationships are going to be affected.
Kristi:Okay, so here's my big reveal. Here's what I am choosing to focus on over the next 90 days. I Am choosing my relationship with me. Okay, and there are so many reasons why I am Choosing this goal as my path. What I do know is that my relationship with me dictates how I show up in all of my other relationships. So, no, it's not selfish to focus on your relationship with you. It's actually a gift to all the other relationships that you are in. So I don't want to just give you the what and not share the how, okay, but what I will tell you is that I can't share everything with you in just one Podcast episode because, like I said, this all came to me within the last couple of hours.
Kristi:So this for sure is going to be an ever-evolving process within the next three months, with continuous moving parts. But here is what I want to give you to get you started. Okay, first Decide on one overall goal. Okay, just one. Then List the tasks that you're going to have to do, you're going to have to make happen to help you achieve that goal. Now here's what I've already come up with for me. Okay, improve my relationship with myself is my one goal, my tasks. I've recently been going to some doctor's appointments to help me figure out some unanswered questions around my autoimmune disease. You see, there have also been some new developments in my health and in my autoimmune. So, as part of my relationship with myself, is how can I take this new information to truly care for myself over this next 90 days? Okay, another task that I know that I want to incorporate is getting into God's word, and I mean getting into God's word more faithfully, daily, you see, because he already believes in me and he has already given me the gifts that he wants me to use. So getting into his word on a daily basis is going to improve my faith in myself, okay, and I've got to pay close attention to my mindset during this next 90 days. Okay, how my my inner critic be holding me back. I want to look for those roadblocks. Okay, where do I need to start believing in myself more to create the relationship that I truly want for myself?
Kristi:Y'all just thinking about this has gotten me so excited for the next 90 days. I mean, imagine how much can change in such a short amount of time. And, like I said, this process is a work in progress and I don't want you to feel like you have to do this alone. I do want you to be inspired to do it. So I don't want you to not do it because you feel like you don't know all the steps, or you don't know how, or it feels like it may be hard to do it on your own. So I would like to come alongside you. I mean, wouldn't you like to go on this journey together? Wouldn't you like to hang out for the next 90 days like literally lifting each other up and cheering each other along this journey? I tell you what y'all I am so excited about what this journey is going to do for me, and I am pumped to see how much my relationships can change within this next 90 days. So something that I want to remind you of is that every new habit you create for yourself or new routine you put into place has so many domino effects for all of the other areas in your life. So, even though you may be focusing on one goal, this one goal is going to affect all other areas of your life. It's going to give you an impact on your entire life as a whole.
