Hello from the Faroe Islands, welcome to the wellness inspired podcast, a place where you can find inspiration, motivation and empowerment in the pursuit of a wellness lifestyle. I'm your host, Sheri Davidson. And unfortunately, I am not here with my co host Ben, my terrier mix rescue dog, he is back in Texas. With my parents, I know he is having fun running free at their place. And I am having a blast on my my adventure here in the Faroe Islands. The at dawn trail race was incredibly challenging, and absolutely beautiful. And I can't wait to share my experience with you when I get back. But today, I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate global trail running day, Saturday, September the 10th. And I will post this episode on the special day. So happy global trail running day. And if you've been listening to the podcast, you know how much I believe in the health benefits of movement and exercise. And I believe in the healing power of nature, there is no better way to bring it all together than trail running. You know, trail running like many forms of exercise benefit your health and well being. But what makes troll running so special troll running takes you off the beaten path and into nature. And what could be better for your physical and mental health than a dose of fresh air and some time spent in the great outdoors. And there could not be a better time to acknowledge global troll Running Day because I'm currently in another country, the Faroe Islands on a troll running adventure. And that's why I'm dedicating this mini episode to the special day in hopes to inspire you to get outdoors find a trail and move in nature. And here's a quote from the global trail running website. I liked this quote. And they said while many forms of exercise contribute to our health and well being none do so as potently or completely astral running does. So how does getting out on the trails benefit you? Well, it promotes longevity, improves cardiovascular health, improves bone density, improves muscle strength and balance, reduces the likelihood of other injuries boosts mood and well being. It improves resilience, higher self esteem and better body image. It lowers our likelihood of other chronic diseases. And this is my favorite one, it promotes community. Because we all know the importance of connection. And I don't remember the episode number. But previously, I did an episode on relationships, connections and communication. So if you're interested in hearing more about that, you can always go back and listen to that episode. And lastly, trail running benefits the environment. You know, trail running has a tiny environmental footprint. And once you get out there, and you see how positively it impacts you, you begin to develop a caring relationship with the green spaces around you. So what are you waiting for? Get ready, lace up your shoes and hit the trails and take in all nature has to give. And if you don't run, that's okay, you can just go for a walk. That's a wrap. I'm going back to my trip. I have a few more days now that my race is over. I have moved on to eating and experiencing the Culinary Life here on the islands.
