Community Vibes with BrownEyes
Brown Eyes is a long-time female Hip Hop activist and community organizer who began performing and leading in the late 1980s. Brown Eyes has created and performed inspirational raps that have touched the hearts of all who encounter her. She has organized, produced, and led community events and activities for over 30 years. As a long-time performer and Emcee on stage, she uses her music talent as well as her voice to promote and inspire. Engaging young people of the inner city with youth programs and outlets to encourage their success in life gained her the "2001 Daily Points of Light Award" by Former President Bush and the NYC "2002 Silver Apple Award" by Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. She began her journey organizing and performing street outreach, directing hundreds of youth and community members to learn new life performance skills on and off the stage. BrownEyes led an International performance for lift workshop at the Dali Lama Peace Conference in Newark, NJ. In this workshop she brought people from all around the world together with music, and dialogues about performing in life, ending in a collaborative hip hop song created by all who attended. Brown Eyes is now the Founding Director of Activities for Young Leaders For Change which consists of long-time community organizers and leaders that create performance workshops and activities for growth and life success. She produces, hosts events, and directs performance activities at Colleges, Public Schools, Group Homes, Businesses, and Community Affairs. Her experience and work in the community through these various avenues led to the inspiration of Community Vibes with Brown Eyes Podcast. Brown Eyes originates from Brooklyn and Far Rockaway, Queens, NY. She has also produced activities in Atlanta, GA from 2001 to 2011. She is now a resident of NJ where she continues to engage audiences in showmanship, community leadership, and inspirational workshops.
