Today, it’s the most populated city in Ventura County - 22nd most populous in the state of California. The Oxnard Police Department, founded over 118 years ago, now consists of approximately 230 officers in a variety of assignments (e.g. Patrol, Motors, Detectives, K9s, SWAT).
