Oxnard is nestled on the California coast between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The city, which began as an agricultural farming town known for its sugar beet factories and strawberry fields, was officially incorporated in 1903. Today, it’s the most populated city in Ventura County - 22nd most populous in the state of California. The Oxnard Police Department, founded over 118 years ago, now consists of approximately 230 officers in a variety of assignments (e.g. Patrol, Motors, Detectives, K9s, SWAT). These officers have sworn to protect the community they serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. These are their stories.
