So hi everybody and welcome to another Bant, the Soul crystal pod. And today I'm going to be talking about obsidian and I've put up a couple of videos for you to have a look at. One of them had two pieces of black obsidian, which is the normal coloration, showing a crystal obsidian mirror and also a sphere. And then I've also put up a video showing the blue coloration. So there's a light blue crystal wand and a beautiful, more unusual, navy obsidian crystal skull. So go and have a look at those on the Facebook and on my Instagram.

So obsidian, what's obsidian about? Well, obsidian is volcanic glass, so the magma is expelled from the volcano or from the vent with such force and so quickly that the magma cools almost instantaneously as it hits the outside air. And because it's so quick, no crystals have time to grow and therefore you get this volcanic glass. It is literally volcanic glass, obsidian. So around volcanic areas you will find you can pick up just these, almost like shards of glass, and they are obsidian. So if you think about how that crystal has been formed, with the power and the just explosive nature of how it's been formed, and think about how that power is within that crystal, that's obsidian. It's a very powerful, quite scouring crystal. It's beautiful but it's not for the faint hearted. So we would often use obsidian tumbles with rose quartz in healing because the obsidian is really scouring. It really brings up, clears out. So it will bring up negative energy, it will bring up blockages, will draw out negative emotional debris and the rose quartz would be a counterbalance because rose quartz is all about self love, non-judgmental, much more gentle, so the two are really nice balance to use together. So it is a really draws out all of this emotional, physical, spiritual debris. It will draw out negative emotions, traumas, etc. So it is, it will. It will really brings him up to the surface. So you can have a strong reaction from somebody through using obsidian. It's also used to because of its power. It's used to clear ancient traumas or ancestral traumas, so it's fabulous for clearing land that's had a trauma on it. It will draw out anything that no longer needs to be there and you can then infill with the beautiful positive energies. Using other crystals you can crystal grid your site, but the obsidian is powerful enough to clear that. So it's really worth using, but it's often don't use it so much. Often advise not to use it on pets and children, because it is a really really powerful crystal. So it's a real detoxifier clearer, and that in itself really helps to give growth. It helps you with your personal development.

Now the forms that I showed on the first video were a sphere and an obsidian mirror. Now those two items are used by for scrying, and scrying is when you look into glass or something similar to glass, like the volcanic glass of obsidian, and you gain information in that way. So if you the traditional going to see some do the crystal ball, she would be scrying. So you can use these black pieces of obsidian for scrying. You can use it with a candle reflecting within the crystal, which is a lovely way because it sort of just gets your conscious mind to step aside and you can start seeing imagery or pictures within that and that you can give a reading using those. Scrying is something that we did in psychic development and it's quite interesting to try it. It's quite I find it quite hard. I think I've got too much of a logical mind. I need to get the logic out of the way. But you know, if you perfect that, it's an amazing way to gain information, to get that reading. So obsidian mirrors particularly and they were particularly used by the Aztec Indians for scrying for prophecy. So it's lovely to use those ancient methods again. So, yeah, so you could. You can use it in scrying.

Other versions of obsidian, like I said, I've shown you the blue colorings, but you can also get slightly different forms, so you can get one that's called golden obsidian. That's got this real sort of like golden sheen to it and that is really good to activate your third eye chakra. So it really it really helps to see, and hence you see why the ancients use this obsidian to prophesize. There's a link there, so it really activates the third eye. It helps you to develop that. Golden obsidian is also called the wizard stone because of this, but again it's it's can be used in the same way.

It's drawing out that negativity. It's drawing out any negative emotional debris that you you no longer need to hold on to. You can also get snowflake obsidian as well, where you've got impurities in the volcanic glass and they they look like little white snowflakes. Snowflake obsidian is excellent for drawing out anger and helping with anger management. So if you have a very angry child or you have have an issue with anger of, snowflake obsidian is a lovely one to use. So obsidian is a really, really lovely stone. It's also very good as a protection stone as well.

But, like I say, it's very powerful and just think of the way it was formed to, to grasp the power that's held within that crystal, and you will see that it's quite a powerful, powerful crystal to use both in protection and both in drawing out something that we no longer need to hold on to. And because it's black generally black the black obsidians are really good for the base chakra, thank you. So it's really good to ground as well, and the blue varieties tend to be obviously for the third eye, for sight, for being able to prophesize and give readings in that way. People think they're quite woo-woo and airy-fairy, but if you think that they are formed in some really difficult and sometimes quite violent and explosive situations, then you're thinking about that is the inner power of that crystal. So but enjoy, don't be frightened of them. Enjoy and play around with them, but just see how you get on with Obsidian. The other thing I was going to say about Obsidian because of the way it fractures, it's often shaped into like arrowheads, so you can get arrowhead sort of glass, arrowhead shape Obsidian and that is brilliant for bringing energy in the power into a room or a site or drawing the negativity out.
